Highly efficient with responsive support

Pros

It is highly efficient for managing cases and is designed for simplicity. Plus it has the most responsive support team I have ever come across for a management application.

Cons

My calendar needs more flexibility, something closer to an old-school day planner that lets me manage tasks and notes right there in the same view.

provides every case details in one location

Pros

I really like having most of my case details and office information consolidated in a single location.

Cons

It is frustrating that Clio Grow and Clio Manage are not more similar. So the inconsistencies between them become very annoying when we have to switch from one to the other.

Convenient for client and team

Pros

As our firms billing manager, I like the convenience that Clio Payments offers for both our clients and my team.

Cons

They are always adding new things but a number of the existing functions and settings could still use some more work to be truly great.

Comprehensive and user friendly software

Pros

The software is both comprehensive and user-friendly. I especially value the drafting templates and the seamless communication with clients. The customer support is also excellent.

Cons

Certain parts of the software are not as easy to grasp as some team members prefer, which is especially true for our less tech-savvy, older employees.

simplifies our daily tasks greatly

Pros

It simplifies daily tasks that used to take up so much time. Plus with Clio, invoicing, sending appointment reminders and accessing all documents from anywhere is much easier. Its security and reliability give me confidence to store everything in the cloud, knowing the documents are protected.

Cons

From my experience, there is nothing I have come across that bothers me and the platform has always functioned perfectly without any hiccups.

Easy to learn with many capabilities

Pros

Not only is it easy to learn but is has a lot of capabilities, as long as you do not mind paying for extra add-ons.

Cons

Some of their suggested fixes were a bit odd. For example when an attorney needs two different billing rates, the advice was to manually adjust it each time. You'd think there would be a more efficient built-in solution for that.

The best tool for gathering information

Pros

Clio is the best tool for gathering information and comes very close to being a one stop shop for all our client-related needs. Moreover the upcoming new communications tab should help us organize this information even better.

Cons

The whole client intake procedure feels time-consuming. I mean a simple feature to link clients as spouses and automatically copy their address and other details would save us so much time. But right now we are forced to create three separate contacts for every single married couple's case.

enjoyable way to run a law firm

Smooth until you bill a client

Pros

Navigating the platform is very simple. The resource center provides lots of helpful information whenever I am unsure how to do something. Also I am really happy with how user-friendly it is and the document management combined with DocuSign has been excellent.

Cons

We need a way to record when an invoice is mailed through USPS, since not every client has email. The payment process is also cumbersome as you cannot pay several invoices from a single matter and have to go to the main billing page. There, you can only look up clients by name, not by their client or matter number. It is also impossible to find a client by their outstanding balance when a third party pays without a clear reference. So I feel like fewer mandatory third-party integrations would be better. Plus the client portal, both the website and desktop version needs significant upgrades. Our clients would probably communicate with their lawyers more through a robust portal than a phone app.

A powerful and seamless platform

Pros

Clio Software is a powerful platform that seamlessly combines time-keeping, billing, write-offs and tracking lawyer productivity. The conflict checking is great too and you can actually get a competent, authorized person on the phone for support without dealing with difficult menus or hold music.

Cons

The system for sorting and saving files by case feels a bit awkward. The feature that creates client emails from Clio is a great concept but in reality, it does not operate very smoothly.

quite a comprehensive CRM for legal work

Pros

Clio Software is a comprehensive CRM built specifically for legal work. With it I can handle invoicing, add new clients, store documents and generate forms. You name it, it does it.

Cons

A few of the tools could be a bit easier to figure out but you can tell the team is always trying to make things better. It is normal for new tech to have a few kinks that need working out over time.
