Government Relations, 1-10 employees
“poor stop alerts”
Pros
At first it looked like this system would shorten the time our officers spent on each stop and give them a safer, faster tool to work with. The inventory and reporting side of the program was something the officers genuinely appreciated and that part felt very well done.
Cons
Since we're a smaller town and weren't near other agencies using the software at the time, getting started was more challenging than expected. Any alerts or important concerns that should show up during a stop were not available unless someone had manually flagged that person in the system first. Scanning registrations and driver's licenses also ended up taking more time and performance really depended on how quickly the system decided to respond. On top of that, there were several glitches--which may be somewhat expected with first-time use--and ongoing issues tied to it being server-based.

Law Enforcement, 101-500 employees
“faster training and flexible reporting”
Pros
This tool takes about four hours to start instead of several days like it did with the old system. We really appreciate being able to pull back the information we enter through ADHOC and the other built-in reports. It's also been very useful to generate view-only reports and share them with other agencies that use the program. Since we operate out of two locations, the browser-based setup works especially well for us because we can use one server and support both sites.
Cons
The biggest challenge right now is that CAD still relies on Silverlight although I understand they are working on moving away from that. Another frustrating part is figuring out which browser works best for certain functions. It would be much better if all users could work from a single browser instead of having to use Chrome for Jail, IE for RMS and CAD and Firefox for Civil.
