Easy to use, helps me organize cases with ease

Pros

FactBox has been a lifesaver for organizing my complex employment cases.

Cons

I really don't have any complaints. My only suggestion is that the user interface could be upgraded to make it easier to use.

It helps a lot in organization

Pros

It's great for organizing the elements of a cause of action or criminal elements. You can link those elements to facts that support them and it really encourages you to think through the IRAC process.

Cons

I'd love it if some of the reports could be formatted the way I prefer to use them.

An excellent tool for keeping things organized

Pros

FactBox has been a tremendous help in organizing my cases. It keeps track of key documents, testimony and even my thoughts and ideas in one place.

Cons

The print options aren't very customizable so I have to adjust font size, spacing, margins, etc manually each time. Also, the navigation panel is a little small and tends to autoscroll to the top.

Streamlining the organization of issues and facts

Pros

I loved how quickly I could find important information. I could also add detailed notes to each link. Organizing facts into a "tree" structure with main issues and sub-issues was incredibly helpful. However it was a bit challenging to keep track of which documents had been added to the system.

Cons

It doesn't let you organize imported sources or documents, making it hard to quickly tell if I've already added a document or source to the database.

The best software for handling litigation

Pros

I'm a Michigan-licensed attorney, practicing since 2001, mainly focusing on business and employment litigation. After years of using tools like Lexis Case Map, TimeStream and Excel, I decided to try FactBox in 2014. I became a full-time, paying customer shortly after. It's now an integral part of my practice, both for me and my paralegal. The software is incredibly flexible for a wide range of cases and creating case templates for reuse is a breeze. What I love is that it doesn't require any complex server setups or tech integrations, my paralegal and I can use it both in the office and remotely without any issues. Other tools required hosting solutions or extra fees for remote access. plus the report features are a huge time-saver, especially for depositions and court proceedings. I can tag facts with keywords and generate specific reports for any deponent. The centralized database for witness information is also super helpful and we even use it to generate witness lists. On top of that, the customer service is excellent, they are quick, responsive and really know the product.

Cons

There is a very short learning curve. Both my paralegal and I got the hang of it quickly without spending too much time figuring things out or setting it up for our cases.

The future of case management

Pros

I've been looking for a program to organize all the case information and present it from an attorney's perspective. FactBox does exactly that and it makes accessing the source information easy.

Cons

I think an easier interface with Google Drive would be great. Also, adding hours to the date field would help when using it as a timeline. I'm surprised they haven't done that yet, but I expect they will soon.

It creates impressive reports and is simple to navigate

Pros

The interface is simple and straightforward and it generates great-looking MS Word reports, especially in "memo mode." It's a major time saver when drafting reports, particularly with its collaborative features. You can organize information alphabetically, chronologically, by tags, or by source and the ability to reorganize things really gives a fresh perspective when presenting findings. The interface is so simple, the learning curve is quick and getting started was easy. I haven't needed much customer service but when I did, they were great.

Cons

Excited to see what kind of updates they release but norhing negative so far.

Amazing partner in my work

Pros

Finally here's software that actually fits into my workflow instead of forcing me to adjust to it. As the name suggests, FactBox is all about fact management and it's incredibly easy to use compared to other litigation management tools I've tried. The team behind FactBox is top-notch and they're very responsive to feedback. I had a request and was pleasantly surprised when a developer contacted me about implementing it. I highly recommend FactBox to anyone handling large cases or just looking to get their cases more organized.

Cons

Nothing really comes to mind.
