Game-changer for client financing

Pros

It is great that we can now offer financing to potential clients, something we could not do before. Plus now we have had several clients who were able to hire us after getting approved, who otherwise would not have been able to afford our services.

Cons

My main issue is that from what I can tell, payments do not automatically sync over to MyCase. We always have to manually record them in MyCase after the transaction is complete in LawPay.

A lifesaver with outstanding service

Pros

Well it is hard to choose just one best feature, the PayLater option has been a lifesaver for our clients and for our firm, the customer service has been absolutely outstanding.

Cons

It is frustrating that the system does not show the processing fee for each client payment within MyCase which means I have extra calculations to do at the end of every month.

allows hassle free payment

Pros

Handling payments is pretty simple and hassle-free. I mean I have never found it this easy to review and process transactions with any other payment company.

Cons

After a payment is completed, it is not easy to find out which email address was used to send the receipt to the client.

Very simple for clients and staff

Pros

The system is very simple for both our clients and our staff to use. Their support team is also excellent and always ready to assist.

Cons

I feel like the reporting features could be a lot better. Also the 6 month time limit for issuing a refund can be problematic, especially when you are using a LawPay trust account.

Secure and easy for clients to use

Pros

LawPay platform is secure and easy to navigate. Our clients really prefer paying through a secure link instead of having to give their card details over the phone or make a trip to our office.

Cons

Honestly I dont have any major complaints right now. The two-step verification can be a bit of a hassle but I know it is important for security.

Built specifically for legal practices

Pros

I really value that LawPay is built specifically for legal practices. Plus now creating custom, branded payment pages is simple and the payment process is incredibly fast.

Cons

Well I'd love to be able to scroll through QuickBooks history to search. Also our firms name includes an attorney's common last name, so when I search for a client with that name, the results show all transactions linked to the firm name without properly filtering them which is annoying.

Easy to use

Pros

It is easy to use and offers very competitive rates. We get one consolidated monthly statement for our fees, unlike some competitors who charge daily and drive up our bank costs. Reconciling payments is also a very simple process.

Cons

We heard that it bought its own legal software company last year. By that point, we were already comfortable with our current cloud-based system and unfortunately, the one it acquired does not measure up. We have no complaints about its payment services themselves, though.

A fairly smooth switching process

Pros

Switching over to LawPay from MyCase Payments has been a fairly smooth process for us. Overall everything seems to be working well so far.

Cons

Well we were informed that MyCase was moving everyone to LawPay without giving us an option. On top of that our transaction fees increased slightly.

Seamless integration with MyCase

Pros

Since we use MyCase having LawPay integrate so seamlessly is a huge plus. The program makes accepting payments, sending out invoices and processing any necessary refunds very simple.

Cons

In the ten months I have been using it, I have not come across a single thing I dislike. This program makes getting paid completely hassle-free.

So user friendly and simple

Pros

The platform is so user friendly, simple to navigate and pretty easy to train new staff on. Overall it perfectly fulfills its role and it is the best system I have ever used for collecting legal payments. The seamless integration with MyCase is a huge bonus too.

Cons

I haven't really noticed many downsides. If I had to guess, we're probably not using some of the extra features that are available to us

quite a basic automated tool

Pros

It is a very basic tool for handling credit card transactions. I mean it just works automatically in the background without needing any manual intervention from me.

Cons

Nothing much but it would be better if the credit card fee was taken out right when the payment is made, instead of having it all deducted from our account in one lump sum at the end of the month.

Pros

Simple setup with automated compliance

Pros

Right from the start we were impressed by how simple LawPay was to set up and use. Because it's built for lawyers, it automatically manages trust account compliance for IOLTA and ABA rules, so we do not have to stress about the details. Before switching, we were constantly following up for payments and dealing with billing headaches. Now clients can pay on their own schedule through a secure portal which has significantly cut down on late payments and stabilized our cash flow. Plus the automated reminders and options for recurring billing mean we spend less time on collections and more time on our legal work. It also syncs perfectly with our QuickBooks and MyCase software.

Cons

I cannot think of any criticisms at the moment. It is an excellent product in every way.

lawpay works like a charm

Pros

The value and convenience are what stand out for me. I had considered using Wells Fargo for merchant services, and the high fees they wanted to charge me were surprising.

Cons

It would be ideal if the funds would arrive in my account at a quicker pace. There have been several hiccups due to delays between the time I receive notification that a payment has been made and the actual moment the money appears in my account.

Pros

Before using LawPay, we used to spend hours tracking bills, payments, and outstanding balances, then sending out reports to clients. It has saved our firm so much time. Also, being able to accept any type of payment our clients may require is extremely helpful.

Cons

Recently, the credit card processor device has not been functioning properly every time. As a result, we must enter all of the card information and billing address manually. This process can be quite time-consuming when the client is right in front of me, waiting.
