“Hard to customize

Pros

Having the case deadline automatically calculated and synced with Outlook is a huge time saver for me.

Cons

There are very few options for Texas-based deadlines and I cannot customize my own deadline set. And this is a problem.

It is the worst. I have nothing positive to say about LawToolBox. It has not worked for us even for a day in the seven months we have been paying for it.

I purchased this subscription in February 2023 because it was supposed to integrate with MyCase.com our practice management system. But unfortunately it has never worked. I have attempted to troubleshoot it multiple times but the issue remains unresolved. I have now requested a refund and if they do not respond, I may have to file a small claim to get my money back.

Several errors with the automatic date calculation and I have found it difficult to add new employees.

Well it is easy to use, the customer support is amazing and it offers great value for the price.

While using it, you might face difficulties or a bit of confusion at times but the excellent support really helps improve the experience.

“Useless product with no support

LawToolBox caught my eye in the beginning because of its claims about integration with my case management software PracticePanther. But sadly it does not work with it and they are not interested in making changes or acknowledging that.

If I could give this review no stars I absolutely would. LawToolBox can calculate dates and populate them into PracticePanther, but it does not display the underlying statutes that are essential for an attorney. Also there is no user guide available which leaves me without a resource. Some event names and descriptions are simply incorrect. For instance an event might say "last day to serve by mail," but the description provides a two day calculation for service by fax. The event names are also prefixed with confusing codes like /, +, and >. There are far too many issues to list here. I raised these concerns within the first few weeks of using the product and later requested a refund but they refused to do so. I am highly disappointed in both the tool and the company.

I really liked the option that allows me to access multiple jurisdictions since our practice spans to numerous states as well as Federal and Appellate Courts.

Cons

LawToolBox only offered me a subscription based on the total number of attorneys in the whole firm rather than a single license for my personal use to double-check docketing entries. I would love to use it but I need a single license for now and that was not an option.

LawToolBox software is easy to integrate. Also there are many other features that I like.

Cons

LawToolBox price is a bit on the higher price side in my country due to the exchange rate. Paying $19 a month for an application feels a little too much here.

I no longer need to rely on discovery wheels or desk calendars to calculate deadlines as Law ToolBox handles it all for me.

LawToolBox calculates some deadlines at times that are not really necessary.

It very well integrates all the different programs my firm uses to manage our practice which makes daily tasks a lot more manageable!

Well it only runs on Outlook I feel like and that computer generally has to stay on to maintain synchronization.

Ease of use is a standout feature for me. Plus adding and editing entries as the case develops is one of the best aspects of this tool.

I am not a fan of the pop-up tutorial options but the good thing is that I reached out to the support team, and they resolved the issue quickly.

LawToolBox interface is not always easy. For example if I close it without logging out, it takes several steps to get back to the file I was working on.

Software is very user-friendly and easy to follow. Plus software saves me at least ten minutes on each case daily.

I would like to input the date I want the diary to show up instead of having it automatically set to a seven-day format.

LawToolBox is simple to use and the tutorial is excellent for those who are new to the program.

It only allows for seven-day reminders but not three-day reminders. So I rely on Outlook for the three-day calendar reminders that most firms typically use.

I really like how LawToolBox automatically dockets the rules which allows me to adjust deadlines and cite the sources for those changes. It has definitely made my life easier.

Cons

We only use the docketing feature even though LawToolBox has many more features. Still, we pay the same price as if we were using all its features.

Pros

LawToolBox software is quite user friendly. You do not need a lot of training to get the hang of it and I truly love it!

Cons

I dislike the appointment time field as it is not easy to tab to it and add information from the keyboard because of the colon thats pre-filled in the field.
