“My fav for PDF review and note taking

“Works flawlessly
Pros
My note taking experience has been good, especially since it works well with imported documents, making editing easy. It includes powerful features for PDF editing, note-making, book reading, and managing multiple documents at once. I have noticed it getting better over time with new features being added and I have not faced any bugs yet. The experience feels very smooth and fluid.
Cons
The multiple plans available can be a bit confusing for me. It would be helpful if they offered a free 7 or 15 day trial to explore all the features before deciding which plan to choose.

“A complete tool for Journalists
Pros
The editing features are really impressive. Highlighting text, editing content, creating documents and accessing multiple files at once are incredibly useful for my journalism work. This app fulfills those needs perfectly, especially within the Apple ecosystem.
Cons
I think a few more note-taking features could enhance the experience. While it is good for taking notes, it lacks proper brushes for making art. I understand this is not the primary purpose, but having those options would be nice.

“Multiple plans are available as per everyone's needs
Pros
I like that this app and it offers multiple types of plans tailored to different needs. Each plan has its own features, but I find that all the useful features are available in the basic plan, which is the best part for me. Unique features like linking topics to comments and editing PDF files are great additions.

“LiquidText is the best for Document Management
Pros
LiquidText has revolutionized my document management. Its secure data storage and access control give me confidence in data security. The collaborative features, such as real-time sharing and innovative ideation tools, have significantly boosted my productivity. While content management is effective, I would appreciate additional text editing options.

“Pricey yet justifiable
Pros
Some of the really cool features exclusive to this app are great. I can store any kind of document and edit it with almost every tool it provides. It works smoothly within the Apple ecosystem when I have it synced across devices, making it the best app for managing documents and PDFs while integrating note-taking.
Cons
The monthly plan prices seem a bit high to me. Since not all features are available in every plan, I feel like I have to pay the full price for specific features. Still, I would say it is worth every penny.

“Excellent for PDFs, average for notetaking
Pros
I appreciate its extraordinary ability to edit PDF files. The combination of all document-related features is good. I haven't used every feature extensively, but I find the ability to link a PDF topic to a comment very nice. The collaborative features are strong, and I honestly consider this app the most advanced one in the Apple ecosystem.
Cons
The fact that it is not available for Android is quite a headache for me. Its note-taking experience is not as good as GoodNotes and I believe the team should focus on improving this. The prices are also quite high, and some features are only available in more expensive plans. Document storage could use some enhancement as well.

“Could improve but best overall
Pros
The collaborative features are very useful for me. Tools like note-taking, PDF sticky notes, editing PDFs, and mind mapping are fantastic. After using this app for about five months, I have discovered a ton of features I like. It even allows me to import and edit PPTX files which is essential for my work.
Cons
I think a few must have features could be added, such as a document folder on the main screen to categorize documents based on their purpose. The user interface could be more user-friendly as well. For beginners, learning the app can be a bit challenging. It should at least be available for Android devices like Samsung tablets to include more users in collaborative projects.

“A touch-based interface is invaluable
Pros
The linking feature is really great, it helps me find any topic quickly while studying. One of the standout features of LiquidText is its ability to transform static PDFs into dynamic, interactive documents. The touch-based interface allows me to highlight, underline and annotate text with precision, which is invaluable for reviewing medical research papers and patient records. The ability to easily rearrange and connect various sections of a document using the "ink workspace" is a huge plus for me.

Pros
Having the PDF open next to the workspace is really useful and the linking between them works well. I also like the project setup, where you can keep multiple files together in the same workspace. There are quite a few features here that make the app enjoyable to use.
Cons
Scrolling could definitely be quicker and more fluid. The top-tier version also feels a bit overpriced. It would be much better to have simple real-time backup integration with any cloud storage service instead of being pushed to use only their own cloud option. Accessing backed-up files online and downloading them selectively on other devices should also be possible. Overall, the app is good but there is still room to improve.

Pros
Being able to create notes that connect to multiple source documents is really useful. I can drag and drop content straight from the source into a note and it automatically keeps a link back to where it came from. The navigation is also very powerful, whether I am moving through highlights, annotations or searched text in the original document.

“Few features are outstanding
Pros
Two features I keep coming back to are the excerpts and ink links. They make it much easier to collect and condense the key ideas and topics from a book so I don't lose track of an important chapter by the time I move on to the next one. That used to frustrate me a lot before I started using this app.
Cons
The area that still seems to need the most work is stability. Every now and then, when I am dragging an excerpt, the app crashes and closes unexpectedly. I'd also really like the option to change the default font size for excerpts because having to adjust it manually for every new one gets tedious.

Pros
Using this is a lot like having digital notecards without dealing with actual index cards. I can pull excerpts, add notes and organize everything in a way that helps a lot when I am putting together reports.
Cons
Exporting notes is still pretty hard. Sections and workspaces come out in the wrong order so I have to spend extra time rearranging everything afterward. Packed with features and options, LiquidText is a really smart idea that's been executed well. It helps me review and analyze material efficiently and I can highlight and annotate things in a way that makes future reference much more useful.
Cons
The biggest downside is the support documentation which is almost entirely video-based. For a product built around working with text, it's surprising that there's so little written help. “Ideal for PDF linking
Pros
Annotating PDFs works very well here because there's plenty of white space to write on and that space can be split into multiple work areas. I can also link pages within a PDF or connect sections from one PDF to another which is really useful for studying and organizing ideas. Writing with the Apple Pencil feels much smoother than it does in OneNote. Another plus is that PDFs are imported as actual PDFs instead of being turned into images and it can even import webpages. It's also much easier on memory than OneNote.
Cons
A few things still get in the way. While scrolling around the workspace, if I accidentally touch an image, it gets moved to another spot which is really frustrating. It would be much better if image selection required a double tap like in OneNote. You also cannot create standalone notes without attaching a document first. There's no option to add shapes such as rectangles, circles or axes either. I also have to keep changing my pencil size when switching between writing on the workspace and writing on the PDF. The built-in browser is very basic and there's still no dark mode for text-heavy PDFs which strains my eyes. A gray background with white text would help a lot. Selected text in the workspace cannot be resized or recolored and when dragging part of a PDF into the workspace, the sizing doesn't always match properly. The highlighter in the workspace is pretty poor compared with Notability. The connecting lines between points look interesting at first but once you annotate a large portion of a textbook, they become distracting so having an option to hide them would be nice. And since it's not available on Android, I cannot quickly check important things on my phone when I am away which is something OneNote does allow.

Bringing PDFs and web pages into LiquidText is really easy and turning web content into PDFs for import is a big plus. “Has the best tools for hearing prep
Pros
Using LiquidText has been really helpful because the interface is simple and the feature set is genuinely useful. I depend a lot on pinch search, highlighting, text extract, quick links and the ability to work across multiple workspaces when I am preparing for hearings.
Cons
One issue still hasn't been properly fixed. Like it keeps removing text in a PDF form and even after raising it multiple times, it remains unresolved. I'd also really prefer all of the toolbars to be merged into one toolbar at the top of the page. The floating toolbars constantly get in the way while working on documents and I don't understand why they need to be separate. The toolbar layout also needs adjusting so icons are not sitting in the middle of the screen, where they interfere with Apple split screen on an iPad. It would help a lot to have shortcuts for 3-4 commonly used highlight colours so there's less need to keep reopening the highlight menu just to switch colours. Page navigation could also be improved especially when dealing with pages labeled A22, A23 and so on because search tends to jump to any result instead of the most relevant one. Word documents also do not keep the same layout they would have on a desktop so page numbering becomes misaligned which makes collaboration difficult. When opening several documents at once, it should create one new workspace rather than several separate ones. It would also be useful to have an option to save and import a signed document as a standalone new file. On top of that the bundle updating function often crashes, fails to work properly, does not recognise updated bookmarking in a bundle or simply fails to load the bundle.

One thing I really appreciate is that comments always remain linked to the exact pages and sections they belong to which makes reviewing and organizing notes much more reliable.
Cons
A downside is that it still doesn't support ebooks or EPUB files which limits the types of documents I can work with.
