MatterLink Features
Centralized Matter And Contact File
MatterLink organizes case details, related contacts, notes, attachments, time-sensitive dates, and custom fields inside a single matter centric file. Consistent layouts and search help staff retrieve information quickly, while links from Word and Outlook reduce switching when drafting, scheduling, updating records, or confirming who is connected to each matter.
Outlook Calendaring And Task Sync
Calendars, docket entries, and tasks post to a centralized schedule that syncs to each user’s Outlook. Built-in rules-based calculations, recurring events, and email reminders keep critical dates visible, supporting litigation and transactional work while preserving the familiar calendar view attorneys already rely on every day.
Word-Based Document Assembly
Ribbon tools and reusable templates in Microsoft Word streamline document assembly from matter data. Standardized styles, numbering, and file stamps reduce formatting cleanup, while merge fields inject client and matter values into forms, letters, and pleadings to cut repetitive typing and lower the risk of copy-paste errors.
Court Data Integrations And Rules
For litigation groups, court-rule support and optional connections to trusted court data providers place deadline information next to matter records. Staff can validate schedules, check updates from the courts, and align docket-driven tasks with recent filings and orders so teams respond on time with fewer manual checks.
Browser Access With MatterLink Web
MatterLink Web provides read only access to client, matter, and schedule information from a browser on computers and tablets. This supports quick reference away from the desktop while maintaining a single source of truth for calendars and key case details. These MatterLink features aid day-to-day coordination across attorneys and staff.

“Best legal management tool with automated links”
Pros
BEC is like ProLaw but way better. It lets us easily link matters, clients, contacts, and documents. I've used iManage and ProLaw before, but BEC is hands down the best solution I've used. I love that when we add a new matter to our billing system, BEC grabs the info and links everything automatically.
Cons
Some of the non-tech folks might struggle a bit with the SQL-text list views for matters and contacts at first. It's definitely not as intuitive as an iPhone interface.
