Poor support and Data Loss After Lapse

Pros

The auto-tracking feature definitely saved me time and effort and on the cheapest plan that felt like its only one clear advantage. But for my needs most of the useful integrations came at an extra cost which shifted the overall value proposition. It works for basic tracking but expanding its usefulness does require a bigger investment.

Cons

It was unclear what data I was exporting from reports. Memtime also doesn't sync across multiple devices which was inconvenient. Customer support was poor and I lost access to all my stored information after my subscription lapsed which felt absurd since I'd been paying monthly and assumed my data would remain mine.

Useless app and terrible customer service

Pros

I have nothing positive to say. The app is useless for its intended function and dealing with the team is even more frustrating.

Cons

I have never experienced worse customer service. They pursued me relentlessly after I ended my subscription and canceled my cards even sending debt collectors for months when I wasn't using the app. Avoid them at all costs.

waste time as too manual

Pros

in the start it looked promising at first but was the opposite in practice. There's still too much manual sorting for meaningful results.

Cons

They feel like crooks. They never warned me about auto-renewal. Even after I stopped using the app months ago, they still charged me.

Frustrated with unwarned renewal practices

Pros

It monitors my computer activity and makes creating detailed timesheets much easier but nothing else is good.

Cons

I am frustrated with their business practices. They never warned about renewal as I only received a receipt on the day they charged my card. When I called to cancel that same day, they refused a refund. I was billed for a full year of a product I no longer needed.

sudden cost raise made it useless for us

Pros

Well it did the job at first and I used it daily but I soon stopped.

Cons

Memtime suddenly raised its subscription cost and charged me for a two-year renewal without warning. The next day, I requested a refund since I no longer use it but they refused and kept my payment. This felt unfair and unethical, making me question if the company is financially struggling.

simple to see daily activity

Pros

It makes it simple to see what I did all day. I was surprised how much time I spend on a single activity.

Cons

The app feels built for people who bill clients which I don't so some features don't match my workflow. Despite that it still serves me well for day-to-day tracking.

unfair renewal fees

Pros

It's a helpful time-tracking tool. It gives a clear overview and detailed timesheets saving me time when recording hours.

Cons

automatic renewal bothered me most. I wasn't warned before my two-year contract renewed. Support responded that I should have checked the portal or noticed when I signed up. They're quick to expect payment but don't give polite advance notice. Given how much can change in two years a reminder email would be reasonable.

dishonest billing practice

Pros

Generally it easy to use and the interface looks decent.

Cons

Their billing practices felt dishonest. They auto-renewed an annual subscription without notice. I'd recommend choosing a different option that won't charge you behind your back.

shockingly bad customer service

Pros

Setup was easy and tracking is simple.

Cons

My experience with customer service was shocking. They enrolled me in a two-year rolling contract without clarity and auto-renewed without warning, i mean just an invoice and immediate payment. I'd stopped using the app after a few months and didn't realize I was still bound. Their terms claim a payment reminder is issued but no emails were sent. Many other users report the same problem. After a week of pushing for a refund of EUR 240, they repeatedly refused. This isn't how business should be run in 2024.

Licensing gambles on forgotten renewals

Pros

It worked fine but I eventually stopped using it.

Cons

The licensing setup feels like it gambles on people forgetting renewal dates. I stopped using the app but about a year later I was charged for another two years. My refund request was denied after canceling. While many reputable companies charge for ongoing access, I believe if a product delivers real value, people won't let subscriptions lapse.

Auto-tracking gives great insight

Pros

I likehow auto-tracking shows which window I am actively using giving insight into my habits. Calendar integrations help and it neatly assigns time to projects for clearer organization.

Cons

Loved client and project time division

Pros

well I loved being able to look back at my work to divide time effectively between clients and projects which helps with prioritization. The Clockify integration for contractors is the best as syncing data with my main time-tracking app makes reports smooth and efficient.

Cons

Occasionally tracked activity is unidentifiable because the website doesn't keep data about which client I am working on. For example the URL for QuickBooks Online stays the same regardless of client so I cannot tell which client a session belongs to. Capturing more context or metadata would make my workflow easier. This isn't necessarily a TimeBro issue.

time management helpful but export order inconvenient

Pros

TimeBro has helped my time management. Tracking work time is easy and low-stress freeing up time for higher-priority tasks. The interface is approachable so creating projects and tracking sessions takes little effort which I likeas someone not very tech-savvy. The layout feels natural turning a tough chore into something effortless. Customer support is also great as they respond quickly with useful guidance. Overall it simplifies tracking, boosts efficiency and the responsive support is a bonus. I'd recommend it for a reliable, easy-to-use solution.

Cons

I still lose some time during the final export. I need an export in strict chronological order of time worked but it currently organizes by project. Manually reordering entries in Excel is a nuisance and eats into saved time. A chronological export option would make the workflow smoother.

Pros

TimeBro ensures our team logs every hour and reclaims time spent on client work. It tracks computer activity and presents it in a clear, drill-down view. Since we started, our billing has increased by over 30%. Instead of rebuilding estimates, everything is already recorded.

Cons

Actually I work across several computers for different tasks and wish I could track time on my laptop and desktop under the same project for easier consolidation. I understand combining them is tricky due to security and confidentiality concerns.

Vital for billing and forecasting

Pros

Tracking hours is vital for billing and forecasting. TimeBro records every minute so I don't have to. Concise reports show where my hours went and which apps I used. Highly recommended.

Cons

My only small issue is that I wish I could create templates when setting up a project. I normally split projects into many tasks and re-entering them each time feels repetitive. Please let me save task lists for future projects.

Tracks every open screen accurately

Pros

TimeBro tracks every open screen. And since I usually have around a dozen windows open, it shows which one I was actually working on. On chaotic days with interruptions, it accurately captures task time. For my team we track time on projects to bill clients correctly, generating timesheets for our ERP system. The data provides a precise baseline for budgeting new projects giving reliable estimates. Reports serve as solid documentation of actual work time if needed.

Cons

TimeBro has been a game-changer. but one improvement I'd ask for is smarter meeting detection specifically, capturing exact start and stop times for Teams, Zoom and Google Meet sessions. It reads my calendar and can tell when apps are open but doesn't always know when a meeting ends. Reliably recording meeting finish times would help avoid mistakenly counting gaps as meeting time.

shows exactly which apps i'm in

Pros

As a fiction writer it shows exactly which apps and documents I am working in like Scrivener, browser tabs for research social media and project tools. It records jumps between writing and other activities e.g image searches, helping separate productive sessions from distractions. Plus I can now predict tasks, for example editing a 120K-word manuscript takes about 50 hours. Before I had no realistic sense of time spent on non-writing activities.

Cons

I'd like to track time spent within individual Scrivener scenes or sub-documents to see how long a particular scene took. It would also be great if the app could automatically assign categories based on the document or application I am using, rather than manual tagging. I hope these features are added soon.
