Made completing the task so much easier

Pros

It has helped me stay organized by keeping all my case files in one place, making them easy to access whenever I need them.

Cons

The software is not the newest, so it does not feel as organized or efficient as it could be.

Eases the whole case management process

Pros

The merge document feature is a huge time saver and has made our office more efficient and cost-effective for clients.

Cons

If an email is saved to the wrong matter in Prevail from Outlook Sync, only the person who saved it can fix it. They have to delete it and then re-save it from Outlook, which is inconvenient.

Fewer glitches, but harder to use than before

Pros

I am really disappointed that they removed my favorite features in Version 9. On the bright side, I do like that tasks, messages, history notes and more now have a "go to matter" button instead of just certain ones like task notes.

Cons

They removed a lot of useful features, zip code/city auto-population, doc merge codes for text boxes, and the ability to attach emails directly to file history from a history note. Now, you cannot edit how an email note appears in the file and "matter review" timestamps automatically default to 12 AM instead of the actual time. The time ticker now only shows hours and minutes, so if I want items to appear in a specific order, I have to wait for the minute to change before adding my next note. Calendar entries in history do not display appointment details anymore, and rolodex contacts no longer auto-attach to files based on zip codes. When multiple minimized tasks are open, they all just say "task" instead of the client or matter name. Another weird issue, when someone marks a medical record as "received," the system lists the original requestor as the author so it sometimes looks like people who do not even work here anymore are handling our cases. Honestly, I could name a hundred more frustrating things they took away, but overall, these changes have really hurt our efficiency.

It has some really good features

Pros

I really like the features it offers. The ability to view documents and easily find where they are stored is super helpful.

Cons

Navigating the system is difficult and finding where things are located is not always intuitive.

Good for organizing data

Pros

All client data is well-organized into easy-to-find files, which makes managing cases much simpler.

Cons

The interface feels outdated, like something straight out of the '90s.

Truly excellent product for us

Pros

By far the best legal software system on the market! I have been using Prevail for about 14 years, and it makes it so easy to organize my notes, documents, costs, fees, calendar events and daily tasks, all in one place.

Cons

The only feature I miss from past updates is the ability to scroll through client names in the search field.

Best product with amazing customer service

Pros

I love everything about it! It is fully customizable and their team is the best in the business. They take the time to evaluate your needs and find the right solution. Hands down, they have the most dedicated support team I have ever worked with, legal or otherwise. I cannot say enough good things about them.

Cons

I really do not have anything negative to say about them.

Perfect for handling Social Security cases

Pros

Prevail makes complete case management a breeze. I use their cloud desktop option with Airdesk and together, I can work from anywhere. I have been with Prevail since 1994, upgrading with every new version. Along with Airdesk and my word processor, the only other software I need is my accounting program. It is easy to use and all the information I need is right on the screen. As the software has improved over the years, training has been necessary but I have never found it to be a hassle. I actually enjoy learning the new features because they make me even more productive.

Cons

Every program can be improved and I always report any issues or suggestions. That said, I do not have any major dislikes with it. It does everything I need, including integrating with Outlook email and text messages.

Pros

The ability to create and merge documents has saved me so much time over the years!

Cons

It would be helpful if file history automatically updated with the user's name when they change the context of a note or document.

Worth recommending

Pros

Such a user friendly and packed with features essential for legal case management. I love the reports and drafting new templates in the Document Designer has been a fantastic tool. Prevail is perfect for storing, maintaining and editing all legal documents.

Cons

I would love to see a search feature within individual files instead of having to search all of Prevail. Being able to search just the history within one specific file would be really useful.

In love with its ease of use

Pros

The ease of use is what I love most about this product. It is easy to teach others how to use it, and the system does a great job of prompting you on what to do next.

Cons

The one thing I do not like is that updates do not install automatically.

It really helps me in my work

Pros

The Document Designer feature is amazing! At previous jobs, I had to create documents from scratch, but now it is so easy.

Cons

I think a quick info tab could be useful, though it might already exist and I just do not know how to use it.

A must-have for PI cases

Pros

Prevail makes managing personal injury cases incredibly simple. The separate tabs for medical billing, records, injuries, negotiation and document storage mean I spend less time searching for information and more time getting things done.

Cons

Using Prevail for general civil and business litigation requires a lot of customization. The time entry forms and document categories can be inflexible, so they need a lot of tweaking to work smoothly. It is also important to train employees on how to use document categories under the history tab, since there are no separate folders for pleadings, discovery, or correspondence. Without proper organization, it can be hard to find specific documents.

It was a great decision to switch

Pros

Not much to dislike. I guess the basic layout and "vanilla" design might work for some people who prefer simplicity but it was not really my thing.

Cons

Navigation within the program is not the best. It feels outdated and while it does keep things organized, I find myself constantly switching between sections. I wish it had a more seamless design.
