RTG Bills Features
Customizable Reporting And Prebills
Standard reports such as Unbilled Hours by Timekeeper, Matter Ledger, and Fees and Expenses by Area surface trends for leaders. Prebills enable review before final issue, and letterhead controls keep branding consistent. These RTG Bills features support communication with clients and internal performance analysis without extra spreadsheets.
Comprehensive Billing Management
Flexible rate tables cover different timekeepers and matters, while hourly, flat, and contingent fees are supported in one system. Automated late charges, taxes, and split billing reduce manual edits during invoicing and help firms keep statements consistent across complex client arrangements for faster, cleaner billing cycles.
Multi User Access And Data Management
Concurrent access supports teams that work on shared matters, while the desktop edition offers local data control and the online edition offers browser access. Backup options, user permissions, and straightforward security features protect financial records and help firms maintain continuity during staff changes or workstation upgrades.
Trust Accounting And Client Funds
Dedicated trust ledgers track deposits, disbursements, and balances by matter, producing compliance friendly reports. A payment wizard distributes one receipt across multiple open matters to cut reconciliation work. Clear separation of trust and operating funds reduces risk during audits and improves oversight for partners and bookkeepers.
Time Tracking And Expense Management
The RTG Timer companion app records work as it happens on office or notebook computers. Multiple timekeepers can enter time and expenses concurrently, with rounding options and non billable markers for accuracy. Cleaner capture of effort ensures fewer missed charges and more dependable invoices at month end.

“Affordable legal billing tool”
Pros
The pricing really caught my attention because it's much lower compared to other legal billing tools I've seen. At first, it almost felt surprising. While it doesn't include every advanced feature out there, it still lets me track my time, send bills, manage payments and keep everything organized with helpful reports.
Cons
Compared to other tools I've tried, this one feels a bit harder to get used to at first. Once I got comfortable with it though, it worked just fine. In some ways, it's actually easier because it sticks to the basics like billing, tracking time, managing retainers and handling collections without overcomplicating things.

“Case based billing management system”
Pros
In my case, I use this alongside MyCase for certain billing tasks. I track hours separately for cases that are already set up as flat rate which helps when I need to justify extra fees later. I can manage multiple cases for one client, adjust event lists, preview bills and print final versions without any issues.
Cons
For me, there really aren't any negatives to point out. It feels clean and simple and I've had no issues using it.

“easy training”
Pros
Training others on this has been pretty easy for me. It does exactly what I need without making things confusing. I don't have to spend extra time explaining complicated steps which is a big plus.
Cons
Switching between the timer and billing sections can be a bit confusing for me. I sometimes lose track of where I am. Even though the label at the top shows it, I think clearer visual cues like different colors or a fixed header would make navigation easier.
