“huge time saver for templates”

Pros

Using this has been a real time saver especially when working with templates and form letters. It's very easy to use and I can quickly make a copy of a file and revise it as a new document without any trouble. It's also really useful for saving emails and for adding documents or attachments into emails.

Cons

One small annoyance is that when I need to upload a file into an email it always defaults to this. At times the file I need is sitting on my desktop instead of in the softwae itself so it adds a couple of extra steps. It's not a major issue but it can cost a little extra time.

The system feels outdated and runs slowly and it really could use a visual refresh.

Using it day to day has been fairly easy. Storing documents is simple and finding them again later is usually no trouble. It works really well for our legal office!

Pros

Something that really works well is how it ties into our file system and other software which makes document management feel much more organized and logical. The versioning tools are especially valuable and have been incredibly useful for keeping track of document changes. Security also seems solid with good levels of control so only the right people are able to access sensitive files.

At the same time it can be surprisingly hard to figure out how to complete certain tasks. The help feature doesn't provide as much guidance as it should and because the software depends on affiliated service providers for setup and training, it can become fairly expensive when issues come up. Recovering documents also isn't as simple as it should be.

Having used two different versions of the software both worked really well for keeping every file together in one central location. We were able to avoid storing anything locally and relied entirely on the cloud to manage everything including some fairly large files.

Cons

It can get a bit awkward when files aren't tagged properly. If the labeling isn't done consistently finding something can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack.

If you want files to stay saved within a Project you also have to save them outside of that Project and that really bothers me about this software. It would be better and won't take up much space if saving the file only within the Project were enough.

Whenever a subfolder was created for one client it automatically had to exist for every client in the system. Since we came from a setup where folders could be customized and multiple subfolders could be added however needed for each client adjusting to a single standardized structure for everyone was challenging. The advantage is that all subfolders stay consistent and uniform but the downside is that sometimes a matter needs custom folders because the issues in one case do not apply to another. Because of this we had to keep subfolders fairly broad so they would work across all clients and that was one reason we depended on the search function so heavily to find documents.
