Pros

Canvas is highly useful for accessing course data including materials and syllabus. It provides notifications for assignments emails and announcements making it easy to submit assignments and view grades.

Cons

No complaints so far but certain features like Pages aren't useful to me. It would be convenient to receive daily summary emails with assignments grades and announcements.

The integration between Canvas and PowerTeacher is fantastic. It allows for grade book synchronization and the ability to assign specific tasks based on students' levels of understanding.

Standards-based grading can be somewhat challenging on Canvas although not impossible.

Taking courses online was a great experience. I rarely had to leave my house except for proctored exams. Logging in and out of the platform and accessing classes was effortless.

At times I would miss messages from instructors due to difficulty locating them. The interface can become crowded on occasion.

I love that Canvas is a feature-rich learning management system. It's convenient to access it on my mobile device and the course management and student portal are excellent. It's user-friendly and suitable for everyone.

I haven't encountered any issues yet. I genuinely adore every feature I've come across on Canvas.

There are limitations on file size and it would be advantageous to have the ability to upload from Drive.

The organization of files in the course modules should ideally be based on the date of posting. Additionally accessing other students' posts in activity forums can be challenging which hinders interaction among them.

Canvas is incredibly user-friendly helping me track assignments grades and classes. The weekly modules and program page serve as a hub for information and communication making it easy to stay on top of things.

I don't have any cons to mention about this platform. The only thing that could be improved is the option to hide courses on the dashboard if desired.

Canvas is one of the easiest software to use offering a wide range of tools that can be embedded into courses creating customized learning experiences. The support from the Canvas community is fantastic and the commons area allows for sharing media lessons and courses. The free version for teachers is perfect for testing Canvas fully.

Cons

The design and look of the platform are fixed which can be problematic if you want to create something different. As an LMS it's bound to have a locked-down approach although with some coding the appearance can be enhanced. Nonetheless it's a highly stable product and users rarely encounter issues with Canvas.

Cons

As an instructor I wish there was an option to reuse comments when grading. I often find myself providing the same feedback repeatedly and it would be convenient to have a saved bank of comments to pull from.

Occasionally it can be sluggish. However apart from that it is the best software for higher education.

Canvas has made higher education more accessible with all classes and assignments centralized on the platform. It's highly recommended as a learning and teaching platform.

Canvas freezes at times requiring me to close the app and restart my device to resolve the issue. This occurs particularly when trying to open my Canvas calendar on my mobile device. Additionally there are instances where I'm unable to update my profile picture on Canvas.

Canvas despite its imperfections remains an excellent tool for teachers seeking an efficient app or website to manage their classes and assignments. The platform's notable strengths lie in its accessibility class organization and calendar functionality. Canvas operates seamlessly as both a mobile app and a website granting students the flexibility to access it anytime and anywhere as long as they have a device and an internet connection. The platform enables teachers to organize their classes effectively through modules and subfolders allowing for a streamlined learning experience by minimizing unnecessary clutter and providing easy access to relevant course materials. Moreover the calendar feature proves to be invaluable providing a clear overview of upcoming assignments and their respective due dates ensuring students stay on top of their workload and deadlines.

Cons

The grading and quizzes are my primary concern. Occasionally they seem to fail randomly although it's not a frequent occurrence. It becomes awkward to approach professors or teachers about seemingly failed grades. Similarly Canvas's automatic grading feature for quizzes/tests lacks polish. However overall there aren't many aspects of the application that bother me.
