“An amazing LMS

Pros

The student portal in Canvas is well-designed and easy to navigate. The modules and sidebar make navigation seamless. Managing classes from year to year is also effortless as previous year's courses are removed.

Cons

I noticed that some teachers struggled with using the software resulting in different usage styles among teachers.

The app is fantastic especially with its to-do list and scheduling features that help me complete assignments efficiently.

Cons

Making assignments within the app requires more work but the web page functions perfectly.

The design of Canvas is impressive. Notable features include the student view which allows me to experience the platform as a student the convenient Speed Grader for grading submitted PDFs and the modular structure that aids in online organization.

Cons

The messaging feature was slightly bothersome. Instead of sending emails directly to students' accounts it sent them to their Canvas inbox. Not all students had their inbox configured to receive notifications leading to some students potentially missing information sent via Canvas' messaging feature.

The features are straightforward and user-friendly. Compared to other platforms Canvas stands out as a superior choice with positive feedback from students.

Cons

It's a worthwhile investment but its value depends on how much it's utilized. It's not too difficult for new users but finding things can be challenging initially.

Canvas's interface is organized and easy to navigate unlike the previous software I used (Blackboard). As a student I find everything easily accessible and the menus are incredibly helpful.

My only concern is the lack of clarity in terms of usability for teachers. It would be highly beneficial to offer a comprehensive hands-on course specifically designed for teachers ensuring they are proficient in navigating and utilizing Canvas. This would help address issues where files and assignments are misplaced due to teacher unfamiliarity with the program.

As a beginner I find Canvas extremely user-friendly. It offers a wide range of options and varieties enhancing creativity. I not only use it for my studies but also for work. It's incredibly useful.

Cons

I don't find anything particularly difficult to understand or use and I'm saying this as a novice. It just requires trying everything and eventually getting the hang of it. You can learn the basics in just a couple of minutes.

The visually pleasing design may require adjustment for those switching from other learning management software. However its content creation and organization capabilities when utilized effectively deliver an exceptional learning experience. With built-in alerts and notifications external messaging apps or emails become unnecessary keeping students updated on tasks feedback and grades.

Cons

Navigation can be confusing at times requiring traversing through multiple pages to find the desired information. Classroom groups function effectively; however the messaging feature could benefit from updates to provide students with more interactive and engaging options. Currently students are often directed to external software for chat file sharing and meetings. It would be helpful to have timers for tests and quizzes as well as a persistent tool displaying the number of remaining questions without the need to scroll up during the assessment.

Canvas is an incredibly customer-friendly platform that impresses with its simplicity and intuitive design. I have been using it for over 5 years and it has never let me down. The clean and appealing templates make video creation a breeze and people always inquire about the software I use. It offers a wide range of features that enhance online learning and make it an excellent choice for students.

It would be great if Canvas also offered motion graphics software.

There isn't much I don't enjoy about the software; my institution has been helpful in setting up everything I need for my class including working with tech support.

I believe the layout could be improved. Currently all tabs are on the left and when you visit a specific page you have to click back on the tabs to navigate. Having a more user-friendly layout would be beneficial.

The most remarkable aspect of Canvas is its ability to explain problem-solving in a simple and effective manner making it highly valuable for learning new concepts.

The only thing I wish would change is the occasional occurrence of lags although all systems slow down at least once. Also the shutdowns can be inconvenient if you forget to save your progress as you'll need to start the entire lesson over again.
