“Easy and practical tool with excellent progress
Pros
I love that the platform provides an simple, user-friendly environment that makes it easy to engage with the interface while enabling me to organize my courses and closely track my progress within each one.
Cons
At times I notice that the way content is presented and the course management features feel overly generic which, limits my ability to access more tailored or differentiated materials across the available courses.

“simple to configure and organize
Pros
I find that the platform's interface makes it easy for me to configure its various options and features while also enabling simple scheduling and organization of the activities I need to plan.
Cons
From my experience using the interface, when I assign links in the main menu I am disappointed that the link icon cannot be customized which undermines the overall customization model that Chamilo aims to provide.

“Creating Courses Made Simple
Pros
For me, this makes it exceptionally easy to set up entire courses and to insert injuries within those courses, which in turn allow a student to advance through the material with minimal friction.
Cons
I often find that I must go through an excessive number of submenus to create the various functions and because those menus are not linked to one another while I'm building courses the overall workflow feels fragmented and difficult.

“Powerful Reports, Secure Exams
Pros
it has the capacity to produce extremely powerful and thoroughly comprehensive reports and it also alignes the process of setting up virtual courses while allowing me to distribute course materials and documentation to learners with ease, moreover when it comes to generating exams, it distinguishes itself by offering a secure, dependable platform that supports the smooth and effective administration of assessments.
Cons
I've found that implementing it can be somewhat more involved and technically demanding than many other similar tools currently available on the market which may increase the time and effort required to deploy it effectively.

“Quick Learning for All Ages
Pros
It is exceptionally easy to operate which lets me learn it rapidly and because many of its users are older, I also notice that it becomes considerably simpler for them to handle.
Cons
Although the updates meant that older users needed extra training to understand the changes, I found that once they received guidance they no longer faced problems afterward.

“simpliest digital transformation
Pros
It performs exceptionally well and because the user interfaces are highly simple, I have seen teachers progress through the digital transformation much more quickly than they do with other learning management systems.
Cons
I have observed that the platform lacks widespread adoption and consequently many teachers initially oppose the shift, showing resistance to the change at the outset.

“Usability Is Its Superpower
Pros
What I value most about Chamilo is its user-friendliness, since the vast majority of our users need minimal if any assistance when configuring their online courses and quickly begin to use them, including both instructors and learners. It provides the essential set of features one would anticipate in a versatile e-learning solution from communication channels and content authoring to assessment tools and analytics and while there are other systems that offer a much wider array of capabilities in each of these areas, in my experience the majority of users rarely take advantage of those advanced options anyway.
Cons
Appreciate having a larger selection of plugins available to facilitate the integration of third-party tools and external services, as this would considerably broaden the platform's interoperability.

“Ease of Use, Except for Exercises
Pros
Chamilo is simple and highly useful overall, although its exercise area remains a problem for me since it requires PHP development to be functional.
Cons
Unfortunately, the exercises section is inaccessible to me because it needs additional PHP development, so I am unable to use that part of the platform.

“Setup and tools are top-notch
Pros
Installing the software through Softaculous was very easy for me and the subsequent configuration of the platform went smoothly without unexpected complications, I discovered that It provides all of the fundamental features you would anticipate from an e-learning solution and its content authoring tool stands out as particularly impressive, offering the kind of flexibility that significantly simplifies the process of building and organizing courses.
Cons
I ran into difficulties when I tried to change the template and because there are relatively few comprehensive tutorials available online that explain how to perform that customization, overcoming that hurdle proved to be quite challenging.

“Quick Integration with Great Support
Pros
As an organization, we found integrating this platform into the range of services we provide remarkably easy and the rapid pace at which our vendor, Contidos Dixitais, performed the campus adaptation and rollout enabled us to transition our courses to e-learning in an impressively brief timeframe which meant we could continue delivering programming without long interruptions, additionally we appreciate that the virtual classroom was integrated so we could hold videoconference sessions.
Cons
Id like the process of organizing and categorizing users to be more easy, since at present it requires more manual effort than I expected and can be time-consuming, furthermore, students occasionally find the forums clunky and difficult to use which undermines their engagement with discussions.

“Simple Software
Pros
It is very easy to install and, thanks to the support team's excellent assistance, I was able to access a toolkit offering numerous features to design training workflows across a wide spectrum of complexity, moreover I find its interface very simple and accessible for both instructors and learners.
Cons
Among the various features, we faced the most significant problems within the 'Surveys' module, which often proved to be the most cumbersome and limiting part of the platform, additionally we believe that integrating some gamification elements could greatly enhance engagement and would be a valuable improvement to explore.

Pros
For me, its very easy to operate, offering extensive flexibility and a high degree of customization while being supported by an engaged community, frequent updates, clear communication from the developers and relatively low resource consumption.
Cons

Pros
I've found the installation process very easy and I can expand deployments from a modest virtual campus to a much larger configuration while continuing to rely on open-source software.

“friendly and no expertise needed
Pros
One aspect I value most is how simple and approachable the platform is, allowing me to work on content with ease and without any background in computer science since the sequence of steps to follow is clear and simple to understand.
Cons
Unfortunately, at my company the system has not been kept up to date, so there are several features missing that were absent even five years ago and our IT specialist tells me the underlying problem is related to missing keys because the original administrators did not leave them behind.

Pros
Once I grasped the way Chamilo is structured, I found it easy and fast to operate and to learn the platform which provides a vast array of configuration options to suit various professional profiles or otherwise to use effectively.
Cons

“Friendly, Flexible and Unlimited
Pros
what I value most are the wide-ranging options it provides to create a welcoming and educational environment for learners since the platform supports a pedagogical approach that feels both accessible and instructive. Another major convenience is the unlimited user allowance which lets every learner keep an individual account and freely update their profile information, download earned certificates and interact within the platform's social areas without incurring additional fees. Moreover, the system's high degree of flexibility gives us considerable latitude to introduce new courses and tailor the virtual campus to the specific requirements of each client, among other customizations.
Cons
Regarding the tutor-side experience, I feel there is room to enhance the reporting features for students, particularly by enabling reports to be sorted according to criteria such as completion progress, total hours logged, the employer or company affiliation and similar fields which would align oversight. It would also be highly practical from my perspective, to have the capacity to trigger targeted communications grounded in those same data points for example messages to learners who have failed to attain a given percentage of course progress, to those who have completed their programs or to individuals who still have outstanding tasks pending and so on.

“Easy Setup, Inflexible Design
Pros
I've found the installation process to be quite easy, producing only a handful of minor issues out of the box which makes initial deployment relatively painless for me and my team. Additionally the small set of features that come pre-integrated are reasonably coherent and work together in a moderately simple way, so the core experience feels stable and predictable without requiring extensive tweaking.
Cons
However the platform's limited ability to be customized is a major frustration for me because it tends to force me into an all-or-nothing approach with its many e-learning modules rather than allowing selective activation tailored to individual teachers or specific instructional systems. While the codebase is flexible enough that I can alter the appearance and behavior if I have developer resources, that requirement effectively places customization out of reach for non-technical users which is a significant barrier in practice. I also feel there is a large, neglected opportunity in design and user experience ,the visual language and interaction patterns feel frozen in an older era, almost like early Windows 95 or the first Mac releases and there seems to be little appetite within the project to modernize or invest in UX improvements. The educational tools themselves are well thought out, but in my experience only someone who understands how they were originally designed can configure them properly from the limited documentation about their intended use in corporate or academic contexts. Worst of all, the Chamilo community appears reluctant to produce explanatory resources or to develop clear guidance about why and how tools should be configured, so from my perspective institutional adoption becomes very difficult unless organizations are prepared to hire specialists for a platform that is neither fully proven nor widely accepted.
