Comes with a lot of functionality

Pros

It's Learning Management System comes with a lot of functionality and covers everything we need, plus a bit more. Having all of our training in one place has been a huge benefit. Another big plus is the amount of online support available and the Ask a Trainer forums have easily been the most helpful part of that support.

Cons

A few features aren't very user-friendly at first but overall it's still an excellent system.

various learning options

Pros

Running this as an LMS Administrator, being able to tailor the portal for both our customers and our internal needs has been a big plus. We can offer a wide range of learning objects which helps us support different customer requirements more effectively. They also provide plenty of opportunities to learn best practices for using the system and to connect with the broader customer community.

Cons

the Cornerstone customer knowledge base can be hard to navigate when trying to find information that is both current and complete.

No experience needed

Pros

Right now we use Learning and Connect and Cornerstone has been flexible enough to fit what we need. About a month after I was hired, I was able to redesign the site's look even without having any previous experience with Cornerstone.

Cons

The downsides are the downtime and the absence of reporting in New Connect.

Training records in one place

Pros

Having all employee training records consolidated into a single system is really valuable and supervisors can easily access their team's training information when needed.

Cons

training admins have very little flexibility to edit completed user transcripts when mistakes are discovered.

versatile and user-friendly platform

Pros

Having worked with this product at both a smaller employer with around 400 users and a much larger one with over 16,000 users, I can say it has been very user-friendly in both settings. It works well not only for end users but also from the training administrator side which makes it a solid system overall.

Cons

Like any platform, there are some features that may not fully match current needs. That said there are only a few of those gaps and they do offer a way to submit enhancement requests for the system.

Can fine tune training

Pros

As an admin, I really enjoy having a wide range of tools and options to work with. I use them to tailor the environment and fine-tune how training is targeted. Cornerstone offers a huge selection of tools and customization features that I can really dive into and honestly, it'll probably take me another year to fully learn everything it can do.

Cons

I'd really love to have a "Where Used" view. For instance, if I create a Group OU and then use it to assign training, target an email or display a dashboard, I'd want to see a list of every object connected to that OU while viewing it. That way, if I make changes to a Group OU, I can clearly understand what those changes are going to affect.

Extensive amount of data

Pros

Once you have a clear training strategy and matrix in place, this platform can support an organization's full learning and development operation from virtually anywhere. No matter how training needs to be delivered, it covers the options well, online, in person, Webex, mobile or blended formats. The amount of data available is extensive, probably more than most teams will ever use but it's there whenever you need it. It also connects with SharePoint and other systems which helps make training delivery and consistency much simpler.

Cons

part-time or occasional system administrators can have trouble remembering where certain functions and features are located. That said after customer feedback was taken into account, recent updates introduced a way to pin frequently used tasks which has helped address that issue.

Unmatched level of support

Pros

Compared with other SaaS vendors I've worked with, the level of support here has been the best. The team is easy to reach, responds quickly whenever help is needed and they provide multiple levels of training at no cost. That free training really helps drive user adoption, improves administrator efficiency and gets more value out of the system.

Cons

The support team changed a couple of times and the handoff between teams was not handled as well as it should have been. We also ran into a design flaw in one feature and because of those support changes, it took much longer than expected to get a solution identified.

User-friendly features throughout

Pros

The platform's features are simple to navigate so getting around it feels easy and user-friendly.

Cons

There are still quite a few functions I need to spend more time learning and understanding.

broken promises and messy POS

Pros

At least the landing page looks clean and honestly that's the only positive thing I can say about it.

Cons

Pretty much none of the functionality the sales team promised has actually been delivered. The system feels extremely manual, the POS is awful with tax problems and customer navigation is poor even though it claims to support eCommerce. It comes across as a very basic platform that only uses its own dull training terminology, forces alphabetical curriculum listings, loses test scores and makes administrative tasks unnecessarily complicated.

Keeps track of records

Pros

Having multiple topics available to stream in one place is a big plus. It fits well with a company's training program and gives the right users access to the development courses they need. It also keeps track of training records and being able to review lessons or pause them along the way is really helpful.

Cons

No major complaints overall. It could be slow at times and would occasionally hang. It also doesn't support SSO so I had to keep track of separate passwords and reset them often. I used the software for 5 years and enjoyed using it to learn other software tools.
