Perfect tool to improve as a person and at work

Pros

Creating my own learning pathway is incredibly beneficial for me to track my development and follow a checklist. It is at the core of my learning journey.

Cons

While I appreciate the learning pathway feature, I find it a bit challenging to use at times. It would be helpful if selecting content were easier; for example, adding a checkbox without automatically adding it to the selected list.

Robust content aggregation platform that uniquely promotes personal and professional growth

Pros

I appreciate how the content is tailored uniquely to my interests and needs through simple data points collected passively and actively. The design, with ample whitespace, encourages focused exploratio also it is fantastic tool for tracking my professional progress across various fields and skills.

Cons

There are not any cons directly related to the product itself, but if I had to mention one thing, it would be that the content push could be a bit more assertive. Sometimes, it is easy to put off learning when it's seen as something to do "when I have time," leading to a false narrative of not having enough time.

This is Worth it

Pros

It is like having a digital university at my fingertips, accessible anytime, anywhere. I highly recommend it for fellow employees looking to enhance their skills.

Cons

Some links require payment and registration, which can be inconvenient. Perhaps Degreed could automatically link to these sites and negotiate with the companies to cover the costs.

Useful tool for L&D - but could be improved

Pros

The Chrome extension proves to be incredibly helpful in encouraging consistent use.Creating pathways provides a simple yet effective way to structure cross-media training plans.

Cons

The category feed has not been very relevant for me, and there is limited customization available. Scoring for different learning resources can be inconsistent. For instance, if something is behind a paywall, Degreed may underestimate its length and assign it a low score. There is no easy way to re-categorize content, such as changing an article to a video.

i love degreed

Pros

I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered this software! As someone who loves learning, I immediately dove in. What I appreciate the most is the ability to filter specific subjects I am eager to develop. Kudos to Degreed for a job well done!

Cons

I have encountered several sites that require additional registration and payment.

Love the Ability to Personalize

Pros

I am a big fan of Degreed! I love the flexibility to either create my own learning pathways or choose from existing ones. The wide array of subjects to choose from is impressive, and finding free learning materials is a breeze. The gamification aspect adds an extra layer of enjoyment as I earn points for expanding my knowledge and track my progress through graphs.

Cons

I found it a bit challenging to navigate. It took me a moment to understand what a "pathway" was. I also got frustrated when I discovered that some courses I was interested in had a high cost. It would be helpful if paid courses were clearly marked or separated. Despite these issues, it's still a good tool for organizing articles and topics I want to learn about.

Pulls all your additional learns from the web into one spot

Pros

The organization of classes and learning schedules is straightforward. I particularly love the seamless integration of learning resources from across the web.

Cons

While the class and learning schedule are easy to follow, it is frustrating that if I leave or close the window, I have to start from the beginning and click through all the checkboxes again to get back to where I was.

Degreed in the Workplace

Pros

The integration team members are amazing, bringing extensive industry knowledge and experience to the table. Degreed offers a wide variety of courses suitable for any company aiming to foster continuous education among its employees.

Cons

Degreed could improve its data storage options for documents, as they are currently stored in various places. This necessitates additional connections to access the files, such as through SharePoint.

Excellent for Tracking Learning

Pros

Tracking learning categories is invaluable. Since learning is an ongoing process, having a platform to organize and stay updated on my knowledge gains is fantastic.

Cons

I wish there was a way to translate the learning and achievements recorded on Degreed into something tangible for employers or academic institutions to recognize as credit.

Best training tracker and content curation

Pros

Integrations are smooth overall, with minimal issues, and the support team is incredibly helpful. The UI is clean and user-friendly and I anticipate that the recent acquisition of Pathgather will further enhance the experience. The mobile app is quick and straightforward for learners.

Cons

The insights dashboards on the administrative side could offer more customization options. It would also be helpful to have the option to clear notifications.

Impossible to use, you need a degree just to navigate their website or build a learning plan!

Pros

Well if I could actually find anything in my plan to get started, maybe I like it more. Unfortunately, everything seems hidden away, and I can not seem to find the courses I want. It keeps pushing me towards Desktop Tech coursework, which is frustrating. Despite spending over an hour building my plan with an advisor, i am now stuck with recommendations that do not align with my goals.

Cons

Navigation is practically impossible; it only displays "suggested" courses and pathways without allowing users to browse freely. As a previous user of Knowledgenet, the transition to this software has been frustrating, as none of my previous progress transferred over.

Great product for organizing online study.

Pros

I started using Degreed because I wanted to tailor my own digital marketing course. I appreciate how easy it is to create an outline and use the browser extension to gather relevant articles, videos, etc., for later study. Degreed simplifies setting up multiple study topics and allows me to gauge my progress effectively.

Cons

My main complaint with Degreed is the category feed. While setting up categories, Degreed provides a feed of relevant videos and articles, but there is no way to filter out certain authors. Deleting individual items doesn't solve the issue, as the same authors continue to clutter the feed with new content.

Disappointed

Pros

Let me start with a disclaimer: I use the individual, free version of Degreed. Now onto the positives: I am really impressed by the concept of using this service as a central hub for tracking my informal learning. The bookmarklet is particularly handy; I have installed it on both my browsers.

Cons

it falls short of its claim to be "The learning portal to find, track & recognize ALL learning." It fails to accurately credit learning unless it is publicly available. For example, eLearning videos from professional sites receive minimal credit, regardless of their length. Attempts to address this with customer service were unsuccessful.

Transforming Organizational Learning

Pros

Degreed excels in content aggregation. The ability to create learning paths from both external and internal content and assign them to users or groups is a major plus. Creating and following learning groups is effortless, and the platform makes it easy to tag and create daily learning feeds. Sharing and adding content from any web source to existing learning paths is seamless.

Cons

I would like to see more proactive reminders to keep learners engaged also a more comprehensive way to measure the impact of organizational learning on business outcomes or customer experience would be beneficial.

Good Solution When You Can't Afford An LMS

Pros

The portability of user information when employees leave the organization is a significant advantage. Degreed draws on various learning providers, many of which offer free resources. The platform is constantly evolving, ensuring a dynamic learning experience.

Cons

Users need to store their course files on platforms like SharePoint, Dropbox, or a server and then link them to Degreed. Degreed itself doesn't store any course data.

Best way to find, access and track ALL learning!

Pros

I like how Degreed curates current and relevant content from both the web and proprietary sources. Having all my saved articles, videos, etc., in one place is incredibly convenient. I also value the ability to track all types of learning, not just traditional methods, and receive credit for activities like reading books or attending conferences. As a learning leader, I find it invaluable for creating groups, pathways, and goals, and recommending relevant content to others. The co-branding feature adds credibility, making Degreed feel like a trusted partner rather than a third-party service. The platform's intelligence grows with usage, evidenced by the personalized daily learning recommendations based on my consumption and preferences. Very impressive!

Cons

The lack of a fully developed native app and limited reporting capabilities are drawbacks. I appreciate having the same user experience on mobile devices as on laptops, as well as the ability to create and download dynamic reports without requiring full admin access.
