“Works well as a training system

Pros

I can really see this working perfectly as a training system. The different difficulty tiers are perfect as it allows me to onboard complete beginners and still challenge our advanced users all within the same program. And from my perspective as an admin the ease of adding new learners is a huge plus. I can get someone set up and started on their path in just a couple of minutes which removes a major bottleneck. It feels like a system designed for growth both for the learner and for our team.

Cons

The free plan gives us a good idea of the platforms potential but it's limiting to only have access to five video sessions. I think offering around ten would make the trial much more useful and give a better sense of what's possible.

“Really easy setup with excellent support

Pros

Getting everything set up was really easy and the help we got from the support team was excellent. Plus we discovered lots of features to help us build an engaging base for all our training programs.

Cons

We'd really appreciate having more customization options for branding so we could customize the look of the platform with our company's colors and logo before introducing it to the whole team.

Pros

It is simple to use and comes with really useful ready-made courses for Microsoft Office. Even distributing user licenses and assigning those courses to people is a hassle-free process.

Cons

I think it would be helpful to have a clearer view of what users are up to. Right now tracking exactly when they log in or what courses they have been working on is not very easy.

What works for us is how user friendly it is along with courses that actually relate to our work. Plus being able to tweak and personalize the material inside the courses is a big plus.

Cons

While the current course selection is good I wish there was a broader range available. As some other platforms simply offer more variety in their content libraries.

“great tool from an admin perspective

Pros

From an admin perspective uploading our own content was simple, generating custom reports felt easy too and giving employees access to courses could not have been easier. Also having the flexibility to reassign and share licenses between users also made it very budget-friendly. The ongoing support from the Go Skills team has been absolutely fantastic too.

Cons

It would be great if it could connect with our other HR software and we'd like access to more advanced-level courses. Other than that we don't have any problems to mention right now.

Pros

The licensing system offers really useful flexibility. Also there is a well-organized library of material that actually matches what our team needs to learn. And because it is so easy to use we find ourselves on the platform much more often. Everything from setup to daily use and linking with other tools is smooth. Our representative gives us top-notch service. Overall this platform truly hit the mark for us as it is packed with useful features and offers incredible value.

Cons

All the lesson topics need to be ready in Spanish. I have heard that change is coming which is good. Also having a special phone app would be a nice extra thing.

GoSkills interface is well-designed and user friendly. I also really like how they have laid out all the different sections and information fields as it just makes everything easy to work with.

Cons

Creating quizzes and exams can be tricky sometimes. Plus I think adding a feature to upload questions and answers in bulk from a spreadsheet would make the process much smoother.

It is simple enough for staff who are not very comfortable with computers. Setting it up was also simple and rolling it out to the team was an easy process.

Cons

We have not run into anything negative about the program itself. The only suggestion I have is that it would be helpful to include more foundational courses on basic computer skills.

The best part is how easy it makes learning. The courses are thorough and the quality of the material is much better than any other free learning app I have tried.

I'd prefer a more dynamic and engaging user interface. Plus having several smaller checkpoints or assessments throughout a course instead of just one big final test would work better for me.

Being able to assign particular training to our whole Trauma Department is a major advantage of GoSkills. This is incredibly valuable for us since it helps meet our ongoing education needs and keeps everyone current on knowledge specific to our unit.

It should develop more customizable reporting tools that let department managers pull detailed analytics at any time. This could be done by improving the filter options to focus on specific team metrics bringing together data from various situations into one central dashboard report.

I didn't receive any notifications to remind me about my courses before my access expired.

The software is easy to set up and operate. Tracking everyones progress is also really impressive. Plus having a range of sample courses to explore is another plus though the information within some courses can feel a bit surface-level at times.

GoSkills has become a real benefit for our company and our staff especially after we shifted to remote work. It lets us coordinate training smoothly across the entire team. What's made it so effective is just how user friendly the platform is as people hardly need any instruction on how to use it.

I'd really appreciate a feature where I could assign managers or team leads for specific departments helping supervisors to generate activity and progress reports just for their own teams.

You can download the lesson which makes it easy to study before a test or quiz. Also this gives learners another choice instead of just listening letting them practice in a way that works better for them.

For people who tend to lose interest quickly I think the content might not feel stimulating enough to hold their attention.

I also liked that the courses are direct and the teachers break things down in a simple, clear way, using examples and quizzes to check your understanding. Plus the flexibility to take lessons whenever I have time is a huge perk. It is also a great benefit that it provides certificates you can add to your resume and LinkedIn profile to help with job opportunities.

I think adding more regular practice questions and review games would help people better learn the harder parts of the Microsoft Excel lesson.

It makes finishing continuing education requirements really simple. I also really like how the courses are broken into short, five-minute sections so it's easy to pause and pick up later.

Up to this point I have not come across many aspects of the product I don't like. But one suggestion would be to organize the courses more clearly into distinct categories or topics.

“Amazingly easy and manageable lessons

It was amazingly easy to navigate and I loved that every lesson was just a small, manageable chunk. Starting a lesson never felt overwhelming because it was only about ten minutes long. The instructor for my course was both entertaining and funny. Honestly this was better than some university classes I have taken!

Having to manually upload my certificate to LinkedIn was a bit of a hassle though I know thats due to how LinkedIn works not GoSkills. Other than tha I really do not have any complaints as it's been a great experience.

Pros

What I like is that GoSkills is super quick to get started with I mean within just a few minutes. I also like that you can learn a little each day. As a busy consultant, it is tough to block off whole days for training so fitting in short sessions works perfectly. Getting to process information between lessons helps me learn even better. Plus having exercise files and quizzes to reinforce everything is another big plus.

Cons

The platform itself works well but I am not a fan of courses where it's just someone talking without any slides or materials to follow along. That style feels a bit low-effort. I'd also prefer to receive downloadable copies of any presentations like a PDF handout similar to what you'd get in a traditional training session though I understand that might increase the cost.

A few functions do not seem to work properly with the latest software versions. Though I realize keeping everything updated is challenging but maintaining compatibility is really important for the platforms long-term usefulness.

Mastering all the formulas takes real effort as it definitely requires a lot of repetition and hands-on practice to get comfortable with them.

Using GoSkills feels natural or in other words i'd say it is pretty easy to use. As each course includes video and text materials, along with quizzes and a final test. The topics are organized logically, the instructors explanations sync perfectly with the visuals and the content is presented in an interesting way, often using real-world examples. Plus lessons are split into 15 to 30 minute parts which helps you maintain focus. A progress tracker lets you see how you are doing and you earn badges as you advance which is a nice motivational feature. Moreover finishing a course gets you a certificate and they even guide you on how to add it to your LinkedIn profile which is a thoughtful, user-focused detail.

Cons

I would not call them cons but I think it would really improve the courses to include more real-world examples. In the Team Leadership course, for instance adding famous case studies, recommendations for tools to apply the concepts and more personal stories from experience would help make the theory feel more concrete and easier to learn.

The training is thorough and put together with a professional structure.

Everything about the course was excellent though I felt the pacing was a bit slow for me. I ended up playing most of the videos at 1.25x speed to keep things moving.

I just wish there was a bit more detail on specific commands and keyboard shortcuts. Since I am not a daily user, I sometimes find myself getting a little lost without those reminders.

The only hiccup I ran into was during the final exam for the advanced Excel course as the entire course vanished from my dashboard and I had to search for it again to complete the test.

Some functions in Minitab are not explained very clearly which makes it hard to figure out how to perform the same tasks again in the software later on.

GoSkills course material is thoughtfully put together and the delivery by the instructor is top-tier. I must say Truly impressive work.

Cons

The course only covers a couple of DAX functions like Calculate and All which feels very limited. We really need lessons on at least five or six key functions such as Filter, SumX and Related to make it truly useful.

I like how every lesson is built the same way from short videos to practice files, notes, a quiz, a big test and a paper for finishing. Also it is easy to find your way and there is a huge list of different things to learn.

Cons

It would be great if completing certain courses could directly prepare you for official certifications like PMP or Microsoft credentials. I'd also like to see more advanced-level options, since many courses seem to focus mainly on the fundamentals.

Pros

The lessons are divided into small parts usually four to eight minutes each and they go in a sensible order. The Lean Six Sigma course I took built each concept well which as per me is the right way to teach it. Plus each part ends with practice puzzles and papers to make what you learned stronger and the teacher shares helpful real life tips.

Cons

Having a few more practice questions would be helpful and I think the final exam could definitely include some new material instead of just repeating the exact questions from the end of lesson quizzes.

I like that after every video you can take a tiny three-question quiz to see if you understood it right away. Plus being able to download practice files with each lesson to try the skills is also a great part. The videos show you how to do things step by step in a clear way and I really like how the lessons are sorted into groups like needs work and refresher based on a check-up test you take first.

Since I have not tried any other online training platforms I do not really have a point of comparison to know what might be missing or where improvements could be made.
