“Schoology”
Pros
Schoology has been a lifesaver during the extended closure caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The platform has adjusted its settings provided excellent support and demonstrated responsiveness to customer needs in this challenging remote learning context.
Cons
It would be a game-changer if Schoology could incorporate blind scoring for written work. This would eliminate the need for an additional platform and appears to be within the capabilities of this learning management system.

If your school doesn't invest in a more advanced learning management system Schoology provides a free and user-friendly alternative.

“Great for general education - curious about modifying for special education”
Pros
As a new teacher in the district I quickly familiarized myself with Schoology before the school year began. Being in Minnesota Schoology ensured preparedness for adverse weather conditions allowing students and families to access assignments and materials.
Cons
I'm curious if Schoology could enhance accessibility for students with disabilities perhaps by incorporating visual aids instead of relying solely on written text for assignments and links. Students often struggle to navigate Schoology independently and I wonder if updated versions would address this issue.

“Good supplement to in-classroom classes”
Pros
Our students rely on Schoology for assignments tests grade tracking and communication. It seamlessly supports their transition between online and in-person classes.
Cons
Setting up exams on Schoology presents a challenge as it offers limited options. When a time limit is set for an exam it applies uniformly to all students in the class. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a way to individualize these settings for students requiring disability accommodations such as additional time. This lack of flexibility can create difficulties for both teachers and students.

“Good Idea Bad Execution”
Pros
I appreciated the simplicity of joining and logging in to Schoology. It's also effortless to switch between different courses.
Cons
It can be incredibly frustrating to log in to Schoology as it often displays an error message that reads "Something went wrong but we're on it." This issue has caused me to miss out on attending certain lectures as I simply cannot log in. It seems that I either have to wake up extremely early or stay up late to have any chance of successful login. This ongoing problem has been a significant hindrance to my learning experience.

“Schoology Review from a Teacher Perspective”
Pros
The ability for students to access course information and materials in one place is a standout feature. The assessment feature is particularly useful for daily checks of student learning providing instant data.
Cons
The learning curve for using the software is steep particularly for those less tech-savvy. Document uploads involve several steps and as a math teacher inputting equations can be time-consuming although this is a common issue with most software.

“Schoology - Powerful but User Friendly LMS”
Pros
Schoology's interface resembles a social media platform making it intuitive and easy to navigate. Its seamless integration with Google Microsoft and other learning platforms crucial in K-13 settings adds to its tremendous capabilities.

Support at the enterprise level may sometimes be lacking especially when it comes to synchronizing Schoology with PowerSchool. However with PowerSchool's acquisition of Schoology we anticipate potential improvements in the future.

“Great Platform for Classrooms/Schools”
Pros
The ability to personalize the platform to meet specific needs is a standout feature. As an upper elementary teacher I appreciated being able to post calendars assignments discussions directions and more in one accessible platform for students and families. Group creation and customizable organization of materials were additional benefits.
Cons

“Awesome For Test Prep”
Pros
The availability of the free version is a plus especially for educators with a smaller number of students. The curriculum organization under resources and the ability to assign specific assignments to certain students are valuable features particularly for targeting skills tested on the ACT.
Cons
It would be beneficial if the free version allowed for changing the access code although this limitation is not a deal-breaker.
