“Absolutely Incredible Platform

Pros

I like how this tool helps with self-reflection and working together with colleagues. There are tons of ways to organize and share ideas which makes collaboration so much fun. Also, this is really good feature to have since all the work and interaction is done online.

Cons

The only thing I can think of is that since they're always making improvements, you need to put in effort to learn new stuff.

“Makes remote coaching effortless

Pros

This software has all the features in one place including all our resources, team conversations and coaching sessions that don't require everyone to be online at the same time, which I really appreciate. The huddle feature has been great for building stronger connections with my teammates too.

Cons

Mobile app doesn't run as smoothly as the desktop version and can be finicky about screen orientation and other settings.

“Super User-Friendly Platform

Pros

What I appreciate is that the tool makes it simple to upload teaching videos for teachers. The "Huddles" feature gives me complete control. I can pause, rewind and analyze footage whenever needed. Being able to leave comments and give positive feedback directly on the videos has been helpful for mentoring.

Cons

The comment section feels pretty rigid. You can't add spaces between paragraphs or do things like bullet point indentations. Would be nice to have more formatting options there.

I like how it stores all the supporting materials for TOL in one place and the video markers with tagging features make giving feedback so much easier.

Cons

The site can be pretty slow at times and when you are new to the platform, it's definitely not the easiest thing to use.

Pros

This platform feels secure when I'm reflecting on my teaching or collaborating with colleagues through video and goal-setting tools. The time-annotated video feature is awesome along with the discussion boards and resource hub that lets me build my own library of materials. Having access to on-demand professional learning modules has been valuable too. What strikes me most is how powerful it is to actually see myself and my colleagues teach. It's such an underused form of professional development but makes a huge impact. The interface is simple so I picked it up quickly without much effort. Whenever I've needed help, both the help desk and customer service managers have been really accessible and responsive.

Cons

Getting people to embrace video-based learning can be tough since they need to trust whoever's recommending it before they'll see its value. That's not really the platform's fault but it definitely makes it harder when you're trying to get colleagues on board who haven't experienced how powerful video can be for education. I also find the portfolio goal-setting feature a bit complex and wish it was more visual. Maybe it's because the rest of the platform is so easy on the eye that this particular piece feels more complicated than it should be.

Found it very user friendly. Being able to write detailed responses when necessary is really helpful. The replay feature is something I use regularly and definitely appreciate.

We have a hard time adjusting sound, some candidates have really quiet audio and there's not much I can do to turn the volume higher. Would be great if that could be improved somehow. The sharing interface is also frustrating since that tiny square at the bottom is so easy to miss causing people to accidentally share multiple times before they figure it out. I'd love to see full-screen mode where you can type comments without constantly switching back and forth between views.

The just-in-time feedback feature is amazing for supporting our teachers. Being able to switch between my phone and computer smoothly makes giving feedback so much more convenient. Video upload times have improved dramatically which saves me tons of time.

Cons

No issues as such. The support team gets back to us really quickly whenever something comes up, and I love how they check in with us three times a year to make sure everything's running fine. We've been using this for four years and keep renewing because it just works for us.

Pros

To me it is easy to upload my teaching videos and reflect on them. When I start typing a comment, the video automatically pauses so I can organize my thoughts without missing anything. The time-stamped comments are really helpful. I can see exactly when I made each reflection during the video. Being able to edit or delete my comments if I change my mind is great too. Once I share a video in my huddle, my evaluator gets notified and can watch it on their own schedule. The back-and-forth commenting creates really meaningful conversations about my teaching. I can go back throughout the year and rewatch old videos to see how much I've grown. It's perfect for fitting video observations into both our busy schedules.

Cons

The main issue I've run into is during the video sharing process in huddles. When teachers go to share their videos, they select their huddle and hit share. There's a checkbox at the bottom that says "Share comments, tags and attachments" that gets overlooked constantly. This leads to tons of back-and-forth emails with evaluators asking teachers to go back and add their comments.

I can rewatch lesson segments and take time to craft thoughtful questions that really help teachers reflect on their practice. Its very flexible and I'm able to review and provide feedback from anywhere, whenever it fits my schedule.

Cons

One major drawback is the reduced face-to-face interaction. You can easily lose that personal connection with teachers if you are not careful about maintaining rapport. The iPad cameras also struggle to capture the full classroom picture unless you have a really solid setup so you might miss important details happening outside the frame.

Pros

I'm impressed by how simple it is to upload videos straight from my phone. Having the flexibility to either record on my device and upload later or record directly through the platform is really convenient. It definitely saves me time and frees up storage space on my phone.

Cons

Sometimes there's a glitch with timestamps where I'll try to switch them but the option just vanishes. I also run into issues renaming items. It claims the title already exists even when it clearly doesnt. Would really love the ability to clip and trim videos or extract specific sections during editing rather than being limited to just cropping.

Pros

The interface is very user-friendly. What really impresses me is how quickly it switches between screens. The loading speed is good and saves me so much time. If I need to review a video, delete it or repeat any action, everything happens instantly. Having cloud storage for my videos is also a nice touch.

I was initially reluctant when my boss made me sign up but honestly haven't found anything to complain about so far.

I really like how I can add comments with timestamps, it makes it so much easier for teachers to pinpoint exactly where they need to work on their instruction. The feedback has been really well-received by the teaching staff!
