“Our company implemented Totara through a third party reseller. We migrated from Moodle.
Pros
Being hosted off-site means we don't need to rely on our small Systems team. This is incredibly valuable to me as an LMS administrator, as previously it was impossible to upgrade our Moodle versions. Navigating to courses is simple, the look and feel are decent, and so far, it's been stable.
Cons
I would like to see more features beyond what is available in the free Moodle LMS system. Improved reporting features and support for plugins currently available in free Moodle, particularly H5P, would be appreciated.

“The open LMS with better support
Pros
This LMS includes all the features of Moodle plus additional functions for business training, such as personalized reports and planning individual and group objectives.
Cons
The main downside is that some plans can be expensive, depending on the provider. However, having a subscription offers peace of mind, as the support team is always available to resolve any issues.

“Excellent tool for education and online training

I have tried this platform and find it very comprehensive, allowing you to educate individuals and train both employees and clients effectively.
Cons
Although it is very good, its interface isn't as competitive as other platforms. Enhancing the interface would unlock its potential.

“Perfect application for corporate training and learning.
Pros
Totara is one of the most complete learning applications for the corporate world. It's highly detailed, free, and extremely comprehensive, allowing management of both in-person and online training, evaluation of employee performance, creation of progress reports for each employee, all with a user-friendly interface. It offers all this for a fraction of the cost of proprietary applications. Its features are focused on developing complete professionals, teaching business rules, and strengthening your company. Use it!
Cons
Being free, it may not have the service and attention issues of proprietary software. However, you will need support from software specialists to address any problems or stabilize the program.

“Very good option for elearning implementation
Pros
We worked on the instructional design for a micromaster in leadership and excellence, and Totara LMS's wonderful features allowed us to advance the e-learning product significantly faster than starting from scratch.
Cons
Our team finds it challenging to grasp the LMS. Our administration team will need some form of training. Thankfully, Totara LMS invests a lot of time in training and supporting their partners.

“Powerful and Flexible Enterprise Open Source LMS
Pros
It provides numerous learning tools and options to support different learning styles, blends, and strategies. It's a versatile product with many configuration options and has a responsive support and development team.
Cons
Some of the older features and architecture are based on Moodle, which isn't ideally suited for enterprise learning. However, this might improve in the future.
