“Powerful management platform, not necessarily user-friendly

Pros

PLM is a powerful tool. We draft, review and store numerous documents in PLM without experiencing any issues like software slowdown or crashes. I also like that individuals can create their own bookmarks.

Cons

The interface feels somewhat outdated and not always user-friendly, even for simple tasks like opening/downloading documents. Our company didn't set it up, so it might reflect our company's decisions. The search feature is also not very helpful.

“Great Product Collaboration

Pros

My experience with Agile PLM primarily revolves around checking various documents related to product changes, specifications, and quality requirements. Overall, I find it to be an excellent tool that provides easy access to updated information about projects being worked on by colleagues in different departments. It covers areas such as change development processes, supply change requirements, regulatory processes, labeling implementation and more. As a collaborative tool, it proves to be highly beneficial and helps keep the entire team involved and informed about projects that may directly or indirectly impact their work.

Cons

Overall, it looks good but there is room for improvement in terms of user interface to make it more friendly and with a better layout. An alternative dashboard would be beneficial.

“Good If You Set it Up Right and Know How to Use It

Pros

One of the things I love is the ability to streamline processes, require approvals, escalate approvals if someone is not fulfilling their responsibilities and even reduce workload by setting up the system according to our group's workflow. Additionally, I find it easy to click on hyperlinks and navigate through BOMs, parts and specifications pretty easily.

Cons

Every screen looks the same, whether I am looking at specifications, finished goods or BOMs. It requires knowing what you are doing and it can get monotonous. I have to get up occasionally to avoid falling asleep.

“Oracle - Best from the rest

Pros

The user interface is excellent and easy to use. I can even upload data on the go using the mobile app. It also offers robust version control and documentation features.

Cons

There's a steep learning curve, and it will take some time to grasp everything. Apart from that, everything else is really good.

It's great for project management and workflow processes. The user-friendly design makes navigation a hassle free process.

The program can feel outdated and inferior at times. It's occasionally glitchy and performs slowly.

Pros

Oracle software is known for its reliability, and Agile PLM is no exception. The system has never crashed on me, even when handling large datasets. Exporting complex reports is also a seamless process.

Cons

This is a high end PLM which means it comes with high costs. It might not be the best solution for small-sized companies, but it definitely makes sense for large companies with 10,000+ employees.

Pros

It's easy to document products and access the entire product history, including past quality issues.

Cons

When scrolling, text boxes and drop-down menus stay in place on the screen and cover up information further down the page.

Due to the pros mentioned above, there is a lot of functionality, but it takes time to become familiar with the features you need. It can be a bit complicated but once you understand it, it's great!

Pros

This software provides numerous functions for processing change orders, and it offers a step-by-step, error-free approach for implementing changes. The audit release function ensures major errors are caught in the change order. The custom search feature delivers quick and accurate results, with the added benefit of customizable search logic and the ability to save multiple searches under folders. It integrates easily with many ERP tools and reflects data in a timely manner. It's highly customizable, with options for importing/exporting and modifying data. It nicely and excellently handles large amounts of data and is cost-effective. Additionally, it offers Java and web client availability.

Cons

The user interface is complicated and could be improved to reduce the learning curve. It's difficult to mass upload and delete files under the affected items tab. Importing and uploading files could be faster. Validation and importing in change orders are slow and challenging to manipulate. The custom search function can be improved, and it's challenging to handle errors.

It's a user-friendly workflow tool that allows for CFR 21 Part 11 compliant electronic signatures on quality-related documents.

Cons

The user interface can be a bit clunky as it requires several clicks to complete a task. However, it's just a minor annoyance.

I like how this software allows me to manage my products with a user-friendly and forgiving interface.

The actual product management interface is good but it can sometimes take a long time to load, and the formatting could be improved.

The integration with Oracle ERP is a standout feature for me. It's also easy to use which makes the transition from legacy PLM systems to Agile totally unproblematic.

It's slightly complex initially, and some navigation options are hard to follow and don't make logical sense for users.

Pros

With this software, I can define processes, workflows, and business objects as needed and set up notifications, privileges, user groups, and certified audit trails. It provides ample flexibility, but it's important to have a PLM expert to handle the setup. Once configured, it can handle vast amounts of information and remains stable if the configuration is managed properly.

Cons

The user interface feels quite outdated, almost like it's from the 2000s. Custom searches require a good understanding of how things work, which is likely due to the high level of customization available for business objects. Working on customization and integration of Agile PLM with other solutions has been quite challenging. It takes a lot of effort to achieve satisfactory results. Extending behaviors can be difficult, as some events cannot be intercepted. The Java API is quite slow and not everything is easily accessible. This sometimes forces me to access the underlying database, which is not ideal from both theoretical and practical perspectives. While working with the Java API, we encountered a few bugs, but Oracle wasn't very responsive to our requests for resolution.

Ease of use didn't come naturally or quickly to me. I believe additional training features within the software would greatly improve the user experience. There are so many features, and I haven't been able to explore them all yet.

Cons

Managing more revisions and versions means dealing with a larger amount of data. Changing procedures and tools can come with additional costs. Having fewer contracts and specifications could potentially increase the risk. Communication and coordination become more complicated in such scenarios.

The product is currently good, but there is room for improvement in terms of user experience, customer service, and the availability of product knowledge through resources like webcasts, videos, and detailed documentation.
