fit for production planning

Pros

The integration with SAP Business One feels complete, to the point where you barely notice which window belongs to SAP and which one is BEAS. It complements SAP's production side very well and lets you plan and manage a varied manufacturing environment effectively. There is also some room for customization although certain areas depend directly on the vendor and cannot be changed. BEAS itself comes with a basic version that can be expanded with additional add-ons, such as APS, extended CMMS and others.

Cons

In some areas it inherits SAP's rigidity although with a strong team of specialized developers you can still achieve certain customizations. It also runs on a licensing model on top of the SAP licenses which makes the SAP/BEAS combination more expensive and the more advanced add-ons have to be purchased separately as well.

Detailed production control

Pros

We've been implementing BEAS for about a year now and it has made a big difference in how we control production. You can break operations down in a very detailed way and manufacturing orders can also be subdivided which gives you a lot of flexibility. It's quite fast in daily use and doesn't freeze or crash.

Cons

You really can't implement it properly without a developer who has strong knowledge of the system.

real-time SAP integration benefits

Pros

Having real-time integration with SAP is a big advantage because it avoids having to wait for information to be transferred between the ERP and the MRP.

Cons

The licensing cost is quite high and the integration process itself was also labor-intensive.

Complete fit for growing companies

Pros

It covers everything we need so there's no real need to bring in extra software. The functionality is very strong and SAP Business One together with BEAS makes a really solid solution for small and mid-sized companies.

Cons

Becoming a super user takes quite a bit of training and the system is very click-heavy so a lot of tasks involve many mouse clicks.
