BEAS Features
Production Configurator
This powerful feature allows for the management of highly advanced configuration options through a simplified interface. Customization of various parameters, such as length, color, or other specifications, is performed directly within the system. This enables the efficient creation of unique, customer-specific products, supporting both Made-to-Order and Made-to-Stock processes.
Quality Control
The solution provides a systematic approach for executing fast and easy quality control checks throughout the entire production process. Quality checks are automatically generated upon receipt of specific material or from a particular supplier. Process control checks, which can be time- or quantity-based, ensure product standards are consistently met, with all relevant data easily accessible via terminals.
Advanced Planning And Scheduling
BEAS integrates comprehensive tools for accurate planning and efficient scheduling of the entire factory workload. These robust capabilities enable production managers to optimize machine and human resource utilization and material availability effectively. Utilizing detailed planning views like Gantt charts allows teams to quickly respond to changes and proactively avoid costly delays in the production line.
Multi-Level Project Management
Manufacturers can effectively create and oversee complex, long-running, multi-level production projects using this specialized module. Key functions include meticulous time-tracking for all activities, clear definition of segmented budgets, and comprehensive cost calculation. This feature is vital for optimizing time usage and maintaining profitability across lengthy, involved, and customized production cycles.
Shop Floor Data Collection
The add-on automates the collection of critical data directly from the manufacturing shop floor in a seamless, real-time manner. Information regarding production quantities, precise process times, and critical energy consumption metrics is captured automatically. “fit for production planning”
Pros
The integration with SAP Business One feels complete, to the point where you barely notice which window belongs to SAP and which one is BEAS. It complements SAP's production side very well and lets you plan and manage a varied manufacturing environment effectively. There is also some room for customization although certain areas depend directly on the vendor and cannot be changed. BEAS itself comes with a basic version that can be expanded with additional add-ons, such as APS, extended CMMS and others.
Cons
In some areas it inherits SAP's rigidity although with a strong team of specialized developers you can still achieve certain customizations. It also runs on a licensing model on top of the SAP licenses which makes the SAP/BEAS combination more expensive and the more advanced add-ons have to be purchased separately as well.

“Detailed production control”
Pros
We've been implementing BEAS for about a year now and it has made a big difference in how we control production. You can break operations down in a very detailed way and manufacturing orders can also be subdivided which gives you a lot of flexibility. It's quite fast in daily use and doesn't freeze or crash.
Cons
You really can't implement it properly without a developer who has strong knowledge of the system.

“real-time SAP integration benefits”
Pros
Having real-time integration with SAP is a big advantage because it avoids having to wait for information to be transferred between the ERP and the MRP.
Cons
The licensing cost is quite high and the integration process itself was also labor-intensive.
