Expandable met our needs in pretty much every way, from the functionality to the support.
Pros

During my time at a previous company we utilized Expandable. After extensive research on various competitors Expandable was the only vendor that met our requirements. The software is designed to seamlessly grow with your company, and it certainly delivered on that promise. We didn't require much customization as the base product perfectly fulfilled our needs. Whenever we suggested a new feature, the team was receptive, and it often made it into the subsequent release. The accessibility of the Expandable team, including the president, was remarkable.

Cons

One thing to consider carefully is the level of support required during installation. Expandable can assist with this but purchasing insufficient hours can put a burden on the implementation team.

I had a great experience installing Expandable and working with their team! Their team is the best!
Pros

The installation process is simple and Expandable provides all the necessary functionality I require. Having worked with multiple systems including Oracle for a business I found that Expandable fulfilled all my needs. I was able to effectively manage a square foot manufacturing facility and handle reporting for 5 entities in multiple currencies with Expandable. The Expandable team is outstanding. We signed a contract during Thanksgiving week and went live in the first week of January, completing the implementation in just 7 weeks even during the holiday season. Loading Master Data was effortless thanks to Excel templates, which facilitated data preparation and loading. The Total Cost of Ownership was excellent, with low implementation costs and full support throughout the process.

Cons

Well truly speaking I cannot think of any negatives. We had a great experience overall although we did encounter some challenges with consolidating entities.

Lighthouse is the IT Department for 5 Expandable-using clients in addition to many other clients
Pros

Expandable offers precise and straightforward inventory control with the added advantage of Lot and Serial Number traceability. Its user friendliness including mobile applications, is commendable. The Implementation and Customer Support Team is exceptional, ensuring a fast and comprehensive implementation. Furthermore Expandable exhibits great scalability, catering to both small pre revenue businesses and large enterprises.

Cons

Expandable lacks advanced features for large and complex multinational enterprises that require localized support. Being a relatively small company, there is limited public knowledge available on the internet.

Very quick implementation, great customer service, organized data structure, intuitive GUI.
Pros

We able to implement Expandable swiftly and the company has the implementation process perfectly streamlined. The options for Bill of Material and Part Master were an ideal fit for our discrete manufacturing environment. The MRP processes were clearly defined, enabling us to plan for the long term effectively. The integration of GL and all subledger functions provided seamless analysis and control.

Cons

The absence of an internal financial statement generator means relying on a third party plugin which can be confusing at times.

Very favorable for ~10 years that I have been using it
Pros

The softwares ease of use, direct Excel downloading capability and exceptional customer support were standout features. It consistently maintains the correct Dr and Cr signs for balance sheet accounts ensuring accuracy. (If a credit amount is present, it displays a "-" sign regardless of the account type, such as an asset or a liability).

Cons

I am extremely satisfied with Expandable but if I had to choose something I liked the least, it would be the absence of a Fixed Asset module. It would also be great if the system automatically transferred current year retained earnings to the prior year at year end, eliminating the need for manual journal vouchers.

Expandable has been a great asset, for our company over the years.
Pros

The use of Lot tracking alongside consignment inventory is the most valuable aspect of Expandable for our company. In our industry its crucial to have constant visibility of our product whereabouts. Additionally we appreciate its compatibility with Microsoft Excel.

Cons

For the most part Expandable has been fantastic over the years. However one aspect that we find a bit hard is generating time saving reports without customization.

Expandable is great when it comes to manufacturing!
Pros

The manufacturing aspect of Expandable is particularly noteworthy even though I am still exploring and learning about all the features it offers.

Cons

Expandable still lacks a real time financial reporting aspect and the monthly closing process can be tedious compared to other software. Making changes to existing data is not easily done requiring meticulous logging of corrections. It can be confusing if you are unfamiliar with the system.

Pros

Expandable is a fairly easy to use software and comprehensive training documents are available for all modules. The option to choose between a client-server or cloud based setup is a definite advantage.

Great customer service!
Pros

The clean user interface of Expandable is easy to navigate and the accompanying user documentation is clear and concise. The software offers a wide range of built in reports that can be easily modified using Crystal Reports to fit individual requirements.

Cons

From a manufacturing perspective some modules like Quality and Mobile Bar Coding should be included. The add on modules tend to be a little pricey but offer robust functionality.

Implemented as a startup and serves us well 13 years later
Pros

The ease of use and simple execution of Expandable make it ideal for new companies without extensive onsite IT resources. We implemented Expandable seamlessly and found it to be highly accommodating for our financial and operational needs. Being built on MS Sqlserver it allows effortless customization, including the addition of custom data and stored procedures. The software features such as customizable page layouts and powerful reporting tools like Crystal Reports and Vineyardsoft, optimize efficiency.

Cons

It took a long time for Expandable to add support for customers with multiple addresses like Bill To and Ship To. We had to implement workarounds to prevent treating the two addresses as separate customers. Additionally there is no effective way to access customizations through the user interface. We had to develop utility user tools accessed through the "Attachments" menu.

We have implemented Expandable software since late 2013.
Pros

Expandable is an MRP/ERP system built on SQL boasting a simple and easy to deploy architecture. The manufacturing module is robust, feature rich and highly customizable. Users can leverage the Crystal developer tool to create customized reports. We successfully implemented Expandable as our ERP system to meet ISO 13485 certification requirements.

Cons

Expandable is not a prominent brand in the market and there is sometimes a lack of existing third party tools to integrate with other enterprise systems such as CRM or quality systems.

Excellent product and value for a small business. It's "expandable" as your business grows.
Pros

Our company needed a more comprehensive ERP system as we outgrew Quickbooks. Expandable proved to be the perfect solution providing a robust and intuitive interface. We have never experienced any data loss, and the customer support has been excellent.

Cons

Expandable lacks a good PLM module so we use Arena Solutions for PLM. However there is a useful transfer function that brings data from PLM into Expandable. We also rely on an external standalone software system for RMA and CAPA.

I've used Expandable at the last 3 startup companies I was involved in.
Pros

Executing Expandable from scratch was the simplest. The softwares intuitiveness makes it easy to train new users. I appreciate its flexibility in handling custom parts and multiple product iterations. The part and BOM uploading utilities make adding a large number of parts to the system quick and reduce the chances of manual errors. The wide range of Inquiries search tables simplifies the process of obtaining information, and I can easily download the data into Excel for further analysis. The Technical Support team promptly answers questions and provides clear instructions to resolve issues or assist with new tasks. I have also transitioned a company from Expandable to two other ERP systems post-acquisition when the parent company decided to integrate the ERP systems. Surprisingly, the transition from Expandable to the other systems was smoother than expected.

Cons

It would have to think a lot or dig deep to find something I didn't like about Expandable. If I had to nitpick it would be the layout of a couple of reports where the header ID fields align with the report details. However considering the abundance of great inquiries, this is hardly an issue.

Pros

Expandables user friendly software combined with their responsive customer support has been invaluable to our operations. The comprehensive and easily accessible documentation on their website is an excellent resource whenever needed.

Cons

The bank reconciliation utility lacks "import from bank" functionality. While most reports are useful they are not user friendly once exported to Excel.

Expandable was quick to implement, immensely powerful, and affordable for the small company!
Pros

Expandable offers a remote desktop installation allowing any user with an internet connection to access the application. Any member of my team can log in and perform transactions. Expandable ensures smooth and efficient launches including data migration and on site training. They take the time to understand our processes and process flows and then demonstrate how Expandable can seamlessly integrate into our system. The software also offers a plethora of additional functionalities that we can choose to implement in the future. The response times and quality of response from customer service are exceptional. Moreover, Expandable provides a more cost-effective option compared to its competitors, without compromising on the quality of the product.

Cons

There is a lot you need to learn about this software but the good thing is that Expandable offers excellent training resources such as online tutorials, guides, a support hotline and on site training.

We've experienced only success with Expandable. It has met all of our needs...and we're picky.
Pros

The softwares well organized data structure and wide range of modules and features have greatly benefited our business. Whenever new requirements arise Expandable always has a solution. Additionally, the implementation process was completed swiftly in just a few weeks.

Cons

Of course we all have minor personal preferences. Some think a certain button should be there others wonder why certain information isn't displayed in a particular editor. However, we genuinely haven't found anything significant to dislike in Expandable. Moreover the customer support is highly receptive to suggested changes.
