“real time visibility for operators”

Pros

Having real time data available across every production line is incredibly valuable. The manuals are put together so well that you can actually learn the system just by working through the instructions. It also makes process capability quick to evaluate and the software feels very user friendly for plant operators.

Cons

A downside is that you still need to learn Python.

“user friendly reporting feature”

Pros

GainSeeker has given our company a fast way to summarize warranty analysis and turn it into useful reports. The rollout phase went very well and the Hertzler Systems Support Team worked closely with us, taking our ideas and shaping the reporting output we wanted. They also helped automate data uploads and tailor the system so it could fill in our existing Excel reports. The Pareto reporting works in a very user friendly way and matches what I would expect as a Quality Professional.

Cons

One thing that slows me down a bit is the color handling in Pareto charts. I prefer keeping the data bar colors consistent with each data category and although changing the colors only takes a few clicks, it still adds extra time when I'm producing a large volume of reports.

“Powerful charting insights”

Pros

One of the best parts is how much work the charting wizards handle on their own. With just a mouse click, the system reviews the data for process variation and immediately points out where issues may be happening in the process and where there is room for improvement can be made.

Cons

It's genuinely a great software. We have done a lot of customization within our inspections and that is more about our team needing to become more familiar with it so we can support ourselves better internally. Even so, their team has been very supportive with our needs up to this point.

“nothing i don't like”

Pros

It is incredibly customizable and the only real boundary is how creative your team can be with it. The SPC toolset is user friendly and includes OEE, control charts, process capability ratios and indexes, plus plenty of other metrics that are displayed in a way that makes them simple to understand. We rely on it for quality metrics, labor assignments, downtime tracking, process improvement logs and leader standard work. The flexibility, the ability to drill down quickly and the customizable dashboards are really what make it stand out.

Cons

There really isn't anything I dont like about it. The only thing I'd like to see is the Hertzler team adding more data entry options, such as drag-and-drop feature. That said, they've been very responsive whenever we've shared requests for updates for upcoming versions.

Pros

Using the data produced by the software we've been able to spot special causes of variation in our process and use them as trigger points for action. That has helped us fix issues much more quickly and the company has seen meaningful cost savings since putting the software in place.

Cons

Getting the standards set up in GainSeeker does take a considerable amount of work.

Right from the start, both the sales staff and development team were incredibly supportive and stayed involved the whole way through. The developers even walked us through the code and shared practical suggestions for configuring parts of the system ourselves which helped us cut down on costs.

Cons

Moving the program over to an iPad could be done but only part of the system was actually available there instead of the full program.

Pros

One of the best parts of this software is how much we can tailor it to fit exactly what we need. The built in Python feature has been especially useful over the years, letting us customize the platform in ways that really match our workflow.

Cons

Right now the only thing noticeably missing is more advanced visualization options although I've heard those features may be added in the near future.

Something that really stands out is the consistent support from the team. They give us their full attention, communicate clearly when an issue comes up and are always willing to help us work through it.

Nothing has really been an issue for us. We've been very happy with the company Overall both with the product itself and the level of service they provide.

GainSeeker was built specifically around our business model and that has made a huge difference in how well it fits our day to day operation. The team at Hertzler created the program from the ground up and included everything we needed to get up and running successfully. We have more than 40 operators using it every day and they've been able to work with the system without any real issues. On top of that Hertzler's technical services team is outstanding when it comes to resolving problems that come up. Their staff also takes the time to walk the main user through all the details, whether that's setting up new part numbers or programming new settings. Overall I've been extremely pleased with everything they've done for me and for our company.

Cons

One challenge is that the software does take a bit of time to get used to especially from the perspective of the primary user who has to understand more of the setup and configuration side. That said, the team at Hertzler is always willing to help in any way they can to make sure the product meets customer expectations. As mentioned earlier, they really focus on teaching customers how to get the most value and use out of the program.

The software is very user friendly and the online customer support has been really good whenever needed.

Pros

After the initial setup the software is pretty easy to use. It walks our team through checks against standards on the manufacturing lines and operators can handle their routine checks without needing much involvement from managers. We also run it through an RDP session on a thin client which helps lower the cost of the machines on the floor and reduces overall hardware expenses. On top of that we use the backend database to display stats for plant workers which helps them work more efficiently and stay better informed from one line to another and across different products.

Cons

Getting everything set up can be a bit confusing and not every option is available immediately out of the box. Once we got it configured properly, it worked well. That said, tracking down an issue with a standard check can be kind of complicated if you don't already know where to look so we usually end up relying on tech support for those situations.

We've compared several vendors for our new program and this platform stood out by offering the widest range of options and the flexibility to tailor the system around what we actually needed. Most of the other platforms expected us to squeeze our process into a preset structure but this let us customize things to fit us instead.

Cons

There were moments when it was a little challenging to clearly communicate our customization goals to the service rep. Once we took the time to spell everything out and define exactly what we wanted and needed though, they were able to deliver exactly the setup we were looking for.

The exact time when information is recorded is preserved which is really useful. It also lets you generate data reports whenever needed, depending on the situation.

It doesn't offer language options and I would really appreciate having Spanish available. On top of that the package is not very user friendly to handle.

Pros

There's a lot this software does well but the biggest win for us has been how user friendly it is. Setting it up around our processes and workflow was simple and the operators were able to learn it and start using it without much trouble. The interface is also very customizable which played a big role in getting the system implemented successfully and helping operators feel comfortable with it. On top of that we can put together desktops and dashboards quickly for supervisors, managers and technical staff which makes it much easier to keep everyone involved.

Cons

A few of the customizations we wanted do require some Python coding. That said, it hasn't been a serious problem because Hertzler provides plenty of support and there's also a lot of helpful information available online.

Pros

Customization options are a big plus especially when it comes to templates and inspection-based workflows. Being able to build desktop graphs and customize views also adds a lot of value and makes the software more useful day to day.

Cons

Something to keep in mind is that depending on the way it's deployed, the system can build up a large amount of data. That can lead to needing custom indexing on varchar fields along with frequent defragmentation of those indexed fields.

Pros

Customer support is excellent and genuinely focused on users. Whenever the software is missing something that would improve the experience, they're usually very quick to add those user requested enhancements.

Cons

One limitation is the lack of Eastern language support especially Japanese and Chinese. That creates a slight barrier for a broader global rollout.

From the training day onward the Hertzler team was incredibly welcoming and made the whole experience a really positive one. I'm still fairly new to the software but it's been simple to navigate and create the templates we need to support production.

Since I'm still getting familiar with the software I don't really have any cons to point out at this stage.

Compared with how we used to handle this in our ERP, this has given us a much more flexible and accessible platform for building and rolling out a consistent approach to QA systems across the team.

Cons

The reporting around charts still feels limited. For example, DPU charts only provide raw data instead of summaries, there are not enough tools to help explain the reasons behind trends in DPU Yield charts and pareto defect charts do not let us set the data display option as a default.
