Real time job tracking boost

Pros

Being able to monitor job status in real time through the work center updates really stood out to me! It gives me a clear view of which workstations are running behind and which ones are ahead of schedule so I can shift resources around and keep deliveries on time. That level of visibility is something I simply did not have before.

Cons

On the downside the reporting tool is not flexible enough when I need to review multiple jobs tied to the same material or customer group. For example when I tried to generate a profitability report for related customers I ended up having to export the data and combine it manually outside the system.

better job costing insights

Pros

Switching to this platform felt like a major step up for our company when it comes to job costing accuracy. It lets us track materials and labor hours on each order which makes it much clearer to see which jobs are taking the most time. Because of that I've been able to identify the jobs that hurt our margins and put together more accurate estimates going forward.

Cons

A limitation I've run into is with part variations tied to vendors. When a supplier sends a new revision of the same part we usually can't tell it apart unless we create an entirely new part number. That ends up adding more manual data entry on our side than it should.

simple implementation BUT weak service

Pros

The software is user friendly and the setup process is fairly simple.

Cons

Service is lacking and the sales team feels very pushy. A lot of what was promised never gets delivered. The software is clearly built for the US market so using it internationally is difficult especially for dates, weight units and accounting.

Flexible tracking

Pros

Something I really appreciate about the software is how flexible and affordable it is! It makes it simple to stay on top of jobs and inventory and the way it helps track job progress feels like a real step up.

Cons

For now I haven't come across anything worth complaining about but I'll share if that changes.

faster workflows every day

Pros

Compared with other software we've used this one helps us finish tasks much faster! It takes fewer steps to complete the work we need to do and the overall functions fit our daily needs really well. We use the system every day and it works effectively for us.

Cons

At times the system doesn't feel as interconnected as I'd like. I'd prefer it to communicate with every part of the ERP so everything feels fully connected.

clear menus

Pros

We really like being able to keep several windows open at once and handle different tasks at the same time. That setup helps our team move through work much faster. The menu options are also laid out clearly so the system is simple to figure out. Features like recently quoted parts and RFQs are very easy for us to use and the software makes it simple to monitor the jobs our employees are actively working on.

Cons

I really don't have any complaints. The software does exactly what I need it to do.

User friendly setup

Pros

Getting started with it has been easy. The system is flexible, accessible to work with and overall very user friendly. Bringing new employees into it is also pretty simple since they can be trained quickly and start using the platform effectively without much delay.

Cons

We are running into issues with one of our integrations not syncing correctly specifically when trying to transfer data points from Paperless Parts into the system. There also seems to be a scalability limit when dealing with products that have very large numbers of components since managing items with 600 to 700 parts can become challenging.

Accessible layout

Pros

One thing that really works well in the platform is its structured layout. The screens follow a consistent pattern throughout the system which makes the logic feel natural and the overall flow very flexible to use.

Cons

The system performed very well for us when we were operating as a single company but things became more complicated once we tried to bring newly acquired businesses into it. We had custom code developed to support that setup and it still is not working properly for our needs. At this point combining multiple companies within the system remains a challenge.

strong inventory

Pros

Estimating has been excellent and Shipping and Purchasing have both worked really well. Inventory Control has also been a strong part of the system :)

Cons

Scheduling can be a bit hard to understand at first although we're still figuring it out. The Accounting side can also feel a little inconsistent sometimes especially with the way it integrates with QuickBooks.

Pros

One thing that really works well for us in it is how everything moves through the system, from estimating to creating the order then shipping, receiving and finally billing. The workflow is very easy and simple to follow.

Cons

Since we're using the cloud version it's frustrating that there's no integration with my local hard drive at the shop. Because of that I end up storing files in two different places. There's also no secondary security system to recover important information if the system goes down.

highly customizable

Pros

Coming from the original version of the software this one has been a big step up for us! It's very effective and covers a lot of what we need and the wide range of features and capabilities makes it extremely customizable. We're able to adjust nearly anything we want which has been a huge advantage. The regular updates have also been great because they keep us current with the latest features and improvements. Another big plus is that we can run the system on either Windows or Mac computers.

Cons

A frustrating issue comes up in order processing and when viewing our order list. If we want to sort by job or order number the system keeps reverting to the default setting. Even after we customize it those preferences do not stay saved over time. Once we exit the system it resets back to the default again. It also doesn't let other users see my saved setup so it ends up returning to the default every single time.

quoting and job tracking shine

Pros

A feature that really stands out for us is the quoting tool. It works extremely well and has been a big help in our daily operations. On top of that being able to move information into and out of the system quickly saves us a lot of time. Job tracking is also simple which makes it much easier to stay on top of everything.

Cons

The biggest frustration has been with the reports. They can be hard to understand especially the profit and loss reports and some of the figures just don't seem to add up properly.

Quick learning

Pros

Very easy to work with, the system is simple overall and the interface feels natural to pick up so it doesn't take long to become comfortable using it.

Cons

Since it feels fairly expensive the cost itself has to be the biggest issue we have. We'd also really like a clearer dashboard for scheduling and job status so it's easier to see where each job currently stands and access that information quickly. Having more graphs and charts would also make it more useful.

helpful stock lists and packing slips

Pros

Using the stock list was simple and creating packing slips didn't take much effort either.

Cons

A single spelling error on the stock list could place an item into a different category without any clear indication that the category even existed.

Frustrating quickbooks integration issues

Pros

The barcode based time tracking for jobs is a useful feature. It really helps measure shop metrics and track individual employee performance.

Cons

Training people on the system has been difficult and the system requires some effort to figure out. Even after more than a year of working with their team we were never able to get the QuickBooks integration functioning properly. The QuickBooks integration for Enterprise simply did not work for us. We even brought in their one on one trainer at $1200 a day and he still could not get the QuickBooks download process working correctly. After that he passed it back to support and eventually their team seemed to quietly abandon the project. The payroll time clock also takes a lot of manual effort to finalize hours. It doesn't feel like a polished process. There are payroll reports available but the whole payroll side comes across as more of an afterthought than a fully developed feature.

agile cloud workflow

Pros

Right away the software feels agile, fast and truly cloud native. Usability is one of its strongest points and it's among the best I've used. It doesn't feel bloated and the workflow makes sense for a Job Shop environment.

Cons

The quality module feels a bit limited at the moment. Adding custom user fields would make it much more effective.

Purchase controls that improve bidding

Pros

I like having detailed control over purchasing (including previous purchases/costs/vendor history). This information can then be fed back into the job bidding process ensuring that we are doing this properly. Being able to make purchases around the exact needs of a specific job is also really important. It helps cut down on overhead and prevents money from getting tied up in stock that just sits there which can turn into thousands of dollars in underused inventory.

Cons

A frustrating part is how hard it can be to find or tag documents to specific jobs when those files could help during manufacturing. That may depend somewhat on how your company manages drawings or bid related details for jobs that eventually get awarded.

What really helps us in using the software is the easy web based design which further makes the system very accessible and simple to work with. Getting everything up and running is fairly uncomplicated and it doesn't take long to start aligning it with the way your business operates.

Cons

That said the web app can be a bit finicky at times and will sometimes log you out unexpectedly. The inventory module also isn't very intuitive which makes accurate inventory control more difficult than it should be.

Pros

It has felt very flexible to work with which has been the biggest advantage for me. The system is simple to use and I really appreciate how simple the accounting module is.

Cons

One area that still feels limited is the accounting reporting. There are only minimal reporting options and I'd really like to have more standard accounting reports built in. I'd also like the option to add more columns to my views although I'm not sure whether that's currently possible since I haven't been able to find a way to do it.

Strong tracking

Pros

From quoting and part management to shipping and billing this software covers the whole process for us! Once you get familiar with how the system works it provides a lot of useful information for tracking jobs, scheduling work and making sure products meet customer requirements. When you really take advantage of all the tools it offers you get the visibility needed to run the business more efficiently and keep a close eye on profitability for each part.

Cons

The software can feel a bit glitchy in places. Some tasks take more steps than they really should just to get to the information you need. In certain areas you can double click and jump straight to another section which is helpful. In other places that same convenience is missing and you can't even copy the information so you end up writing it down manually and then searching for it elsewhere in the system. There are also a few features that seem like they should already exist but still haven't been added. However most of these feel like quality of life issues that could be addressed in future updates.

Pros

Captures the full workflow of a manufacturing business really well especially from esimating to shipping. We rely on it across the entire process and it handles each stage effectively.

Cons

A limitation is that neither users nor admins seem to be able to upload a CSV file themselves. The company has to do it for you which feels restrictive. It would be much better if it accepted a properly formatted CSV the way most software applications do.

Team has been really happy

Quoting parts for customers takes far less time now which has made that process much more efficient. The real time reporting gives a clear view of production workflow as it happens. Being able to access the system remotely is also a big advantage since it lets me answer customer questions about their orders even while I'm out meeting with them.

rigid system with weak support

Pros

Across our facility it helped us track and manage orders using paper-based job travelers. We also handled invoicing and logistics through the system so it covered several important parts of our operation.

Cons

At the same time the software was very rigid and didn't adapt well as the company changed. Getting new users trained was challenging and customer support was nearly impossible to rely on. Whenever a question or problem came up it was hard to even figure out who to contact for help.

solid ERP for contract manufacturing

This ERP fits our operation well both in terms of functions and the user interface. The built in reports perform reliably and the system supports our work as a contract manufacturer and machine shop whether we're producing simple components or more complex assemblies for commercial, defense and aerospace OEMs.

Cons

Customer support and communication have been disappointing when it comes to resolving software problems. One recent issue caused major inventory errors in the system and even with repeated follow-ups, the first real response took more than three weeks. After four weeks, we were still having to contact other people for help. Requests for custom reports also move very slowly and can take weeks just to get feedback.

Good support

Pros

Right away the software comes across as a very complete and user friendly platform for organizing and automating business operations. It includes a strong mix of features like collaboration tools, scheduling, accounting and analytics so a lot can be handled in one place. The interface feels flexible which makes the system quicker to learn and more comfortable to use on a daily basis. On top of that the customer support team has been excellent and is always there to assist when help is needed!

Cons

Even though this is a very solid tool overall it does have a few small frustrations. Certain features can be harder to locate than they should be and the user manual is not always as clear as it could be. Licensing costs can also be on the high side especially for smaller businesses.

The interface feels user friendly and looks polished which gives the software a lot of promise.

Cons

At the same time there are too many limits when it comes to customizing views and the onboarding support has been terrible. Technical support is severely lacking which has been the biggest frustration. When you edit an order it can basically "freeze" it so if a PO gets created for materials tied to that order it creates a glitch. Report customization is also more difficult than it should be and really needs to be simpler. Without proper help from support you end up spending a lot of your own time trying to figure the system out yourself.

complete sales-to-delivery control

Pros

Across the whole facility workflow this software covers the process well from sales all the way through delivery to the customer. It takes an SO from the customer, moves it through jobs or work orders then invoicing and finally product delivery. It also manages partial deliveries properly which helps keep invoicing accurate.

Cons

Once every module is configured it does the job well. The downside is that getting everything set up takes outside help and you really need support from a partner to gather the right information and build the full process. It is not something you can realistically set up on your own.

inconvenient system with hidden renewal

Honestly there was absolutely nothing we liked about this software.

Cons

The parts description field being capped at just 30 characters caused problems. There is no standard database field for a vendor or manufacturer part number either so getting that information onto a purchase order requires a workaround. On top of that the whole system feels completely inflexible, very inconvenient and rigid and they charge extra for every little change. The onboarding was a disaster as well, after 9 months it still was not functioning the way we needed. To make matters worse they are not upfront about the annual subscription or the requirement to give 30 days notice before renewal. Instead of clearly notifying you that a renewal is coming they just tell you a few days beforehand that you need to upload a license key.

Handling customer work orders and vendor purchase orders in one system has been really useful.

Cons

Things became frustrating after I upgraded QuickBooks from version 21 to 22 because the sync stopped working entirely. I was never warned that this third party integration would not be compatible even though QuickBooks integration is promoted as one of the product's biggest selling points. They also did not send any notice to other customers that this issue could happen. Because of that I had to roll back to the older QuickBooks version and reenter two weeks of work. Also I spent two weeks unable to sync customer invoices or vendor bills.

costly rollout and awful support

Customer service was awful and honestly we don't have anything positive to say about this software.

Cons

Our experience with this product was a disaster from the start. We paid in advance to have one of their representatives fly in and provide direct training along with help on accounting issues. Once he arrived he told us he wasn't familiar with the accounting side either and could offer very little assistance. That visit alone ended up costing us more than $6000. In the end we had to pay our CPA firm for several extra hours just to walk us through everything and get the books balanced. To put it simply after spending $37000 we would never recommend this software to a business of any size. If you're considering even looking at it don't waste your time. The demo they show is a version that is already fully set up and running properly which is NOTHING like the reality of implementing it yourself. We moved on to a different software in January 2021 and were glad to do it but even after that we were forced to pay for the final six months of useless "tech support" just to avoid being sent to collections. Very classy.

Everything feels very user friendly and it's simple to move through the entire process without getting lost.

Cons

I'm still getting familiar with the system since I'm new to the cost estimation team here at Faxon Machining so I'll have to share more once I've spent more time with it.

well organized job costing tool

Pros

After using this software for about a year I can say it is a very well organized system overall. It is easy to learn and use especially when you are starting out in an Estimator role. During the estimating phase it helps capture every part of the job cost including both material and labor in a structured way so nothing important gets missed. In the manufacturing stage it also does a good job of tracking time and materials across multiple jobs without much trouble. Training employees on the process of scanning time and material was also simple. The Job Cost Summary is especially useful because all the tracked information shows the actual material and labor going into each job which has been very helpful and informative when improving the job pricing process. Overall this software supports the company well in reaching its targets.

Cons

There really is not anything major that causes serious issues or impacts the work in a significant way. That said there are still a few minor drawbacks. It can be difficult to give inventory stock access to only certain people. It would also help if designing report templates were more user friendly. Another limitation is that there is no paid break option included in the default settings.

Dependable software

Pros

Across most of our daily work this software is powerful and simple to use. The support team is responsive and helpful whenever we need assistance. We rely on this software for estimating order management, quoting, purchasing, scheduling and plenty more. After using it for 6 years it has proven to be sustainable and has become an essential tool in our shop.

Cons

One area that really needs improvement is the homepage interface which is not very pleasant to look at. There also aren't enough customization settings for things like fonts and text size. At the moment we have to depend on third party extensions to make the text readable for some users. Unfortunately those extensions can interfere with the logos which makes navigation a bit harder if you don't already know where the buttons are. It would help a lot to have higher contrast home screens and a built-in option to adjust text size.

perfect fit for custom manufacturing

Pros

The database and pricing setup works perfectly for the kind of work I handle especially small run, custom product manufacturing.

Cons

There can be a slight lag when the internet connection isn't at its best.
