Real time job tracking boost

Pros

Being able to monitor job status in real time through the work center updates really stood out to me! It gives me a clear view of which workstations are running behind and which ones are ahead of schedule so I can shift resources around and keep deliveries on time. That level of visibility is something I simply did not have before.

Cons

On the downside the reporting tool is not flexible enough when I need to review multiple jobs tied to the same material or customer group. For example when I tried to generate a profitability report for related customers I ended up having to export the data and combine it manually outside the system.

better job costing insights

Pros

Switching to this platform felt like a major step up for our company when it comes to job costing accuracy. It lets us track materials and labor hours on each order which makes it much clearer to see which jobs are taking the most time. Because of that I've been able to identify the jobs that hurt our margins and put together more accurate estimates going forward.

Cons

A limitation I've run into is with part variations tied to vendors. When a supplier sends a new revision of the same part we usually can't tell it apart unless we create an entirely new part number. That ends up adding more manual data entry on our side than it should.

simple implementation BUT weak service

Pros

The software is user friendly and the setup process is fairly simple.

Cons

Service is lacking and the sales team feels very pushy. A lot of what was promised never gets delivered. The software is clearly built for the US market so using it internationally is difficult especially for dates, weight units and accounting.

Flexible tracking

Pros

Something I really appreciate about the software is how flexible and affordable it is! It makes it simple to stay on top of jobs and inventory and the way it helps track job progress feels like a real step up.

Cons

For now I haven't come across anything worth complaining about but I'll share if that changes.

faster workflows every day

Pros

Compared with other software we've used this one helps us finish tasks much faster! It takes fewer steps to complete the work we need to do and the overall functions fit our daily needs really well. We use the system every day and it works effectively for us.

Cons

At times the system doesn't feel as interconnected as I'd like. I'd prefer it to communicate with every part of the ERP so everything feels fully connected.

clear menus

Pros

We really like being able to keep several windows open at once and handle different tasks at the same time. That setup helps our team move through work much faster. The menu options are also laid out clearly so the system is simple to figure out. Features like recently quoted parts and RFQs are very easy for us to use and the software makes it simple to monitor the jobs our employees are actively working on.

Cons

I really don't have any complaints. The software does exactly what I need it to do.

User friendly setup

Pros

Getting started with it has been easy. The system is flexible, accessible to work with and overall very user friendly. Bringing new employees into it is also pretty simple since they can be trained quickly and start using the platform effectively without much delay.

Cons

We are running into issues with one of our integrations not syncing correctly specifically when trying to transfer data points from Paperless Parts into the system. There also seems to be a scalability limit when dealing with products that have very large numbers of components since managing items with 600 to 700 parts can become challenging.

Accessible layout

Pros

One thing that really works well in the platform is its structured layout. The screens follow a consistent pattern throughout the system which makes the logic feel natural and the overall flow very flexible to use.

Cons

The system performed very well for us when we were operating as a single company but things became more complicated once we tried to bring newly acquired businesses into it. We had custom code developed to support that setup and it still is not working properly for our needs. At this point combining multiple companies within the system remains a challenge.

strong inventory

Pros

Estimating has been excellent and Shipping and Purchasing have both worked really well. Inventory Control has also been a strong part of the system :)

Cons

Scheduling can be a bit hard to understand at first although we're still figuring it out. The Accounting side can also feel a little inconsistent sometimes especially with the way it integrates with QuickBooks.

works well

Pros

One thing that really works well for us in it is how everything moves through the system, from estimating to creating the order then shipping, receiving and finally billing. The workflow is very easy and simple to follow.

Cons

Since we're using the cloud version it's frustrating that there's no integration with my local hard drive at the shop. Because of that I end up storing files in two different places. There's also no secondary security system to recover important information if the system goes down.

highly customizable

Pros

Coming from the original version of the software this one has been a big step up for us! It's very effective and covers a lot of what we need and the wide range of features and capabilities makes it extremely customizable. We're able to adjust nearly anything we want which has been a huge advantage. The regular updates have also been great because they keep us current with the latest features and improvements. Another big plus is that we can run the system on either Windows or Mac computers.

Cons

A frustrating issue comes up in order processing and when viewing our order list. If we want to sort by job or order number the system keeps reverting to the default setting. Even after we customize it those preferences do not stay saved over time. Once we exit the system it resets back to the default again. It also doesn't let other users see my saved setup so it ends up returning to the default every single time.

quoting and job tracking shine

Pros

A feature that really stands out for us is the quoting tool. It works extremely well and has been a big help in our daily operations. On top of that being able to move information into and out of the system quickly saves us a lot of time. Job tracking is also simple which makes it much easier to stay on top of everything.

Cons

The biggest frustration has been with the reports. They can be hard to understand especially the profit and loss reports and some of the figures just don't seem to add up properly.

Quick learning

Pros

Very easy to work with, the system is simple overall and the interface feels natural to pick up so it doesn't take long to become comfortable using it.

Cons

Since it feels fairly expensive the cost itself has to be the biggest issue we have. We'd also really like a clearer dashboard for scheduling and job status so it's easier to see where each job currently stands and access that information quickly. Having more graphs and charts would also make it more useful.

helpful stock lists and packing slips

Pros

Using the stock list was simple and creating packing slips didn't take much effort either.

Cons

A single spelling error on the stock list could place an item into a different category without any clear indication that the category even existed.

Frustrating quickbooks integration issues

Pros

The barcode based time tracking for jobs is a useful feature. It really helps measure shop metrics and track individual employee performance.

Cons

Training people on the system has been difficult and the system requires some effort to figure out. Even after more than a year of working with their team we were never able to get the QuickBooks integration functioning properly. The QuickBooks integration for Enterprise simply did not work for us. We even brought in their one on one trainer at $1200 a day and he still could not get the QuickBooks download process working correctly. After that he passed it back to support and eventually their team seemed to quietly abandon the project. The payroll time clock also takes a lot of manual effort to finalize hours. It doesn't feel like a polished process. There are payroll reports available but the whole payroll side comes across as more of an afterthought than a fully developed feature.

Saves cost

Pros

agile cloud workflow

Pros

Right away the software feels agile, fast and truly cloud native. Usability is one of its strongest points and it's among the best I've used. It doesn't feel bloated and the workflow makes sense for a Job Shop environment.

Cons

The quality module feels a bit limited at the moment. Adding custom user fields would make it much more effective.

Purchase controls that improve bidding

Pros

I like having detailed control over purchasing (including previous purchases/costs/vendor history). This information can then be fed back into the job bidding process ensuring that we are doing this properly. Being able to make purchases around the exact needs of a specific job is also really important. It helps cut down on overhead and prevents money from getting tied up in stock that just sits there which can turn into thousands of dollars in underused inventory.

Cons

A frustrating part is how hard it can be to find or tag documents to specific jobs when those files could help during manufacturing. That may depend somewhat on how your company manages drawings or bid related details for jobs that eventually get awarded.

user friendly tools

Pros

The shop floor management features work really well and the interface is user friendly which makes daily tasks easier to handle.

Cons

Reporting is limited to the accrual basis so there's no cash basis option available. Other than that some reports can be a bit tricky to generate.
