“As Described, Easy to Use

Pros

The product is exactly what I needed. It's easy to use and has greatly improved my order sorting and inventory tracking. The price is reasonable for my small business. While there is a lot to learn about the software, the customer service has been excellent in answering any questions. Every employee who has used it agrees that it's easy to navigate.

Cons

While there are a few features that Katana lacks, I appreciate that they are actively expanding and frequently adding new functionalities.

When pulling order information from Shopify, I noticed that Katana rearranges the info and it never appears in the same order, which can be a bit inconvenient.

I find the Katana MRP interface to be extremely user-friendly. The steps are logical, and there's integrated help in each section. The knowledge base is a valuable resource, and the support team is efficient.

Cons

As a relatively new software system, Katana is still rolling out new features. However, I must point out that it doesn't have every aspect I need for my business, and the cost for additional users is slightly higher than I anticipated.

The interface is clean, well-organized, and modern. It integrates seamlessly with the other software I use, including Quickbooks and Shopify. The customer service is outstanding, and the tutorials are very informative.

Cons

As someone with no prior experience using MRPs, it took me some time to figure everything out. However, the customer service team has been exceptional in answering my questions and guiding me through any issues. One feature I wish was available is barcode scanner integration, as it would greatly simplify inventory updates and adding new items.

The availability and ease of navigation with Katana have saved me a lot of time. They have implemented some of the new features we requested, such as back order handling, serial number tracking, and multi-currency and warehousing options. Their response time to our submitted questions has been quite prompt.

Transitioning from a well known package like Pastel Evolution to something unfamiliar was surprisingly seamless for me.

It would be great if there were minor enhancements such as the ability to customize produced documents and save report parameters/filters.

The dashboard is simple to understand and use. It has made managing purchases, sales, and orders so much easier. The team behind Katana is exceptional. They respond quickly and are always ready to assist. Integrating with Shopify was a breeze.

During the initial setup, it took longer than expected because the app lacked a unit conversion feature. However, they have since addressed this issue.

After trying several ERP systems for our manufacturing business, we can confidently say that Katana is one of the best and most affordable options available. Their support is incredible, and we wouldn't recommend anything else.

While Katana is highly responsive to feature requests, it currently does not include an API or Hook.

I have encountered several bugs that, although quickly fixed, have disrupted my projects and daily work. The margins and cost information can be difficult to read and trust when trying to identify errors. Additionally, the software doesn't consider the quantity of people involved in production, only hours, making it challenging to set accurate timelines for our weekly throughput.

Operating my business using excel, xero, monday.com, and email was quite a hassle. However, I stumbled upon Katana, which consolidates all these systems into one interface, saving me a ton of time. I had the opportunity to have a lengthy Skype call with Hannes, who is one of the founders of Katana. During the call, he provided a demo session tailored to my business needs, which was extremely valuable. The personalized service and attention to detail ensured that I started off on the right track.

Cons

While the integration with Xero is still in development, this has been the most notable drawback so far. However, I appreciate that Katana is actively working on resolving this and it should be available shortly.

Managing the production of my "made to order" items has become a breeze. Previously, I relied on excel sheets, but now, with Katana, it's much easier to handle and organize everything, especially since it imports orders from Shopify automatically!

Since Katana is still relatively new, some features can be a bit challenging to use, and there are a few features I wish it had but currently doesnt offer.
