“User friendly inventory and manufacturing management solution for small companies

Pros

One of the standout features of Katana is the ability to track the entire manufacturing process. We have tried other similar software in the past, but they often lacked crucial components for our manufacturing pipeline. The user interface is incredibly easy to navigate, and the customer support is exceptional.

Cons

While the cost is on the higher side, I firmly believe that it is worth every penny.

I appreciate the value that Katana offers. For a long time, we were stuck using excel to manage our inventory because there were no affordable alternatives. Katana has made it much easier for me to maintain accurate stock levels.

Cons

There are a few minor inconveniences that act as time-wasters. For instance, I cannot shift/ctrl click multiple items and drag them as a group when rearranging the priority rank of manufacturing orders. Since we deal with multilevel subassemblies, I spend extra time organizing the order in which I want them completed. Being able to drag items as a group would save me valuable time.

Katana's simplicity is impressive. It's one of the most intuitive specialized software I've used, and the price structure is very affordable for us. The customer support is also top-notch.

Cons

It does lack some "nice to have features." However, I see it as a trade-off for its simplicity and affordability.

Pros

I love the comprehensive inventory tracking and the modern feel of Katana. Typically, inventory software is cumbersome to use, but Katana is a breeze. The automatic import of Shopify sales and the live integration with Shopify for order fulfillment are fantastic. The Quickbooks integration simplifies invoice generation. With Katana, you only need to enter information once, eliminating the need to fill in the same details in different services repeatedly. The ability to track inventory in multiple locations and include the ingredients of each product in the tracking is also a major advantage.

Cons

Creating purchase orders that generate a Bill in QuickBooks is helpful. However, it would be fantastic if I could create a Purchase Order directly in QB to keep track of them all.

The fact that you have to pay extra to add more users is a downside.

I'm pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to set up and use this software. It has been a blessing in terms of inventory management, which used to be my biggest headache.

Personally I am not the quickest when it comes to technology, so it took me a bit longer than others to get the hang of it, despite its overall ease of use.

Pros

The user interface is incredibly simple, and I was able to set up the software quickly and efficiently. The continuous feature upgrades are great, and the integration with Shopify and QuickBooks is seamless. The customer service is responsive and detailed without overwhelming me.

Cons

Uploading from Excel was clunky and unhelpful. It was actually faster to manually enter the data. Although there are some features I'm looking forward to having that are not currently available, I know the team will be releasing them in the near future.

The ability to streamline production, inventory, and invoicing has been a massive time-saver and incredibly helpful for organization. I believe it offers excellent value for the money.

Cons

Setting everything up and ensuring that all the components and functions work together does require some initial effort. However, this is not Katana's fault, and they have made the setup process quite straightforward. Once everything, including materials, products, and production recipes, is in place, the software runs smoothly.

The interface is intuitive, and the pricing seems reasonable.

Cons

This software is lacking crucial features. I'm genuinely curious about the industries and use cases of those who praise it. It doesn't offer basic functionalities like bulk editing, and you have to resort to uploading an Excel sheet to make changes to multiple products. Another major drawback is the absence of product images, which should be a fundamental aspect of any database. Currently it only allows manufacturing items from a single location. I'm puzzled by the positive ratings this software receives.

Katana easily answers my questions about purchase orders needed to fulfill incoming orders, the next tasks to work on, and the estimated readiness for customers. I can also visualize delays in deliveries and their impact on production. It handles complex bill of materials for our wide range of products while maintaining a simple and user-friendly experience.

Cons

Whenever I come across something I don't like about the software, I instantly reach out to the development team. They listen attentively and provide immediate workarounds. In the long run, they have consistently released updates that address the issues. They are an incredibly dedicated group of individuals who genuinely want to make this software work seamlessly for our busy workshop.

Being a relatively young project, there are features that still need to be implemented. However there are no shortcomings that render the platform unusable.

The feature list still needs further development, especially in terms of drawing reports and integrating the system with real-world workflows. For example, the ability to export lists or print MOs would be beneficial.
