Workflow made easy

Pros

This software caters to all our companys needs, including time management, inventory, project management and more. Rolling it out to end users was a seamless process.

Cons

Up to this point, we've only been using it for less than 6 months, and I haven't experienced any issues or problems yet. However, there is still a learning curve that we need to overcome.

Exceptional ERP Software for Manufacturers

Pros

Epicor offers exceptional flexibility right from the start, particularly in managing and tracking Production Jobs, Bill of Materials, Scheduling, Labor, Inventory, Purchasing and Order Entry. Also the software allows for customized development, and features like Epicor BAQ's, Dashboards and Business Activity Manager allows you to set up custom information, exportable grids and notifications. These modules are use -friendly and intuitive for administrators and end users. Moreover, the Shop Floor Data Entry Module (MES) is quite simple and user-friendly for production/manufacturing floor users.

Cons

Epicor ERP proves to be quite expensive, given its comprehensive nature that covers various aspects of the business. Setting it up according to Epicor's recommendations is important, and thorough completion is necessary. Additionally, due to its flexibility, there are numerous features that may not be used, so it's advisable to create clear work instructions for the team and potentially hide unnecessary fields or functions.

Not user friendly

Pros

This software provides a wide range of features to personalize and support your business. It offers numerous reports and assets to assist business operations, including the ability to connect multiple chains of stores owned by the same owner. Additionally, the software uses a system called "Bomgar" that allows screen viewing and control for issue resolution.

Cons

There are no freebies with this software. Even for the smallest feature, there will be charges. A monthly fee grants access to a call center for assistance. However, the quality of support can be hit or miss, depending on the person you speak with and their understanding of your needs. Different help levels are available, and if the initial support staff doesn't comprehend your requirements, they can escalate the issue to a higher level, potentially incurring hourly charges. Another downside is that nothing is easy or simple. Being a highly advanced system, if you want to go beyond basic functionality, you have to rely on the help line to set it up. While it's possible to do it yourself, it's challenging to navigate and identify the necessary system flags to avoid unintended consequences.

When using the software as a CRM, it displays poor performance. Making changes, such as creating views or reports, requires technical expertise and significant development time.

Epicor

Pros

We have been using Epicor for approximately three months, and the transition from our previous system went smoothly. Navigating within the system is simple, thanks to the intuitive menu system. Almost any information needed for planning and scheduling is just a click away.

Cons

Initially, we encountered some issues with inventory suggestions. The system wanted everything restocked as soon as it detected we were below minimums. However, after a few weeks of research, we were able to customize the system to match our specific needs. There were a few other minor challenges during the implementation phase, but overall it wasn't a difficult process.

Great ERP

Pros

Epicor has played a key role in the company's growth and allows us to analyze what works and what doesn't. Purchasing and Project Management are also pretty simple and easy to handle.

Cons

The software lacks aesthetic appeal, and it seems that many users prefer a modern interface.

Great for quoting engineered to order equipment and systems

Pros

This ERP system simplifies quoting for items that don't have predefined part numbers in the system. As a company that fabricates custom-designed process equipment involving numerous purchased components, this feature is invaluable. Often, our customers require details to their specific Approved Material List, which may include components we haven't purchased before. Epicor allows us to quote parts, kits and systems without the need to create part numbers in advance, streamlining the quoting process. It's unnecessary to set up part numbers if we don't have the job yet.

Cons

The CRM aspect of the software could use some improvement or the option to integrate with leading CRM software like Sales Force.

Great ERP

Pros

The software's outstanding feature is the ability to customize reports. Additionally, I really like the ease it offers when finding the necessary information promptly when needed.

Cons

It's necessary to purchase several separate modules to access all the features, for which you have to pay additional costs.

Epicor

Pros

We heavily rely on customizations and personalization, and the ability to do so with Epicor is fantastic!

Cons

As a job shop dealing with non-stock parts, many of which are one-time builds, Epicor 10 is more suited for stock jobs and continuous quantities.

Epicor ERP

Pros

I have six years of experience using this software, so I have become familiar with all its particulars. It's hard to pinpoint what I liked most since I didn't particularly enjoy it. One positive aspect is that it's a powerful product more suitable for larger companies than ours.

Cons

Out of the box, there is no option to customize anything without engaging another company for assistance. Making changes requires training or an additional module, neither of which I had. The presence of multiple security measures makes it challenging to undo or revise actions once they are done.

EPICore EPR

Pros

Unlike other software that limits searching to the beginning of the text, this software allows searching using any part of the text.

Cons

The generated reports do not search the entire report unless starting from page one again. So, if I find the item I am searching for on page 520, the next search will start from page 520 unless I close the search box and click on page one to initiate the search.

Robust ERP System Ideal for Manufacturing

Pros

Uploading and updating data in bulk is so easy. The modules are configurable to meet our specific business needs. The consultants are responsive, knowledgeable and helpful.

Cons

There are certain restrictions and to eliminate them you have to pay a price it is when you able to customize and or find a way to work around. Editing forms is not as simple as I expected, and many modules require an additional subscription cost each year.

ERP system that is easy to setup, easy to use, and has the features you need and want.

Pros

I really love the fact that it offers the features we require and is user-friendly. Epicor consistently makes efforts to improve it by introducing new features. We receive excellent support, and training is available in various formats.

Cons

The cost initially exceeded our budget expectations. However, after evaluating various ERP systems, we quickly realized that Epicor offered the features we desired and believed it was worth the investment. It has been 10 years now, and we still believe we made the right decision by choosing Epicor as our ERP system.

Epicor is amazing for tracking production details

Pros

I often use this program to track historical product records. I can generate detailed production detail reports that display every operation a part has undergone.

Cons

Occasionally, the reporting feature takes some time to generate the report. However, this is only the case for very large reports.

Powerful software, when it works.

Pros

Epicor's powerful service-oriented architecture allows us to adapt their platform to our business use case and workflows when needed. The recent versions feature a somewhat modern UI that we eagerly anticipate, and the addition of the RESTful API has been incredibly valuable.

Cons

Each version introduces numerous bugs, but the releases occur rapidly to address them. Unfortunately, their support is not the best or quick when needed. It can take days or even weeks to reach someone in the country or team who truly understands the issue and is willing to address it seriously.

Pros

Overall, it's user-friendly. It offers a wide range of modules that can be tailored to suit our specific business requirements. Additionally, it can be integrated into our B2B website.
