cloud simulations with helpful training

Pros

Running computations in the cloud is one of the things I really appreciate about SimScale. They also offer courses directly through SimScale and those do more than just explain how to use the platform they also walk you through real projects you can complete with it. That was especially valuable as a beginner. I was able to do some Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations through one of the guided projects and it helped me get comfortable with the software. Another big plus is that it stays fairly lightweight and doesn't consume too many browser resources.

Cons

To be honest, I don't really have any major complaints about SimScale. Of course, it could include some more advanced features but for most users, what's already there is more than sufficient.

Software is amazing

Pros

It has taken our consulting engineering firm to another level. It has opened up a new niche for our Mechanical HVAC team in both engineering and design.

Cons

One limitation we've noticed is the ability to simulate more than a single material.

Made work easier for me

Pros

It's really convenient for me to be able to quickly launch a Pedestrian Wind Comfort study using this tool

Cons

In my view, the 3D model viewer could be a bit simpler to browse.

clean interface

Pros

Using it has been a really positive experience because it delivers very good results, the interface is simple to work with and the support team responds quickly whenever questions come up. Another big advantage is that I can keep using my computer for other tasks, like writing a report or editing geometry for a new design, while the simulations run.

Cons

One thing that could make Simscale even better in the future is adding support for shell and beam elements.

Outstanding support team

Pros

Getting started with the product hasn't been too difficult and the guidance we've received from their team has been genuinely helpful. Working with Ricardo has been especially positive. I also appreciate being able to edit a model directly in CAD and subtracting objects from one another feels easier in it than it does in Inventor.

Cons

A few of my runs have failed or timed out without a clear explanation of what caused it. My guess is that I was using too many mesh cells but I didn't really have a clear sense of what the right target should be.
