Strongwell review of WorkWise ERP

Pros

As a user, I find this software to be a fully integrated ERP system. Our previous system lacked integration which results in duplicated job functions. The inventory management modules have provided immediate benefits through up-to-the-minute reports and controls. Additionally, TCM interfaces with a document management system (DASH) that automatically archives many of our documents. We are currently considering implementing the new Visual Schedule module.

Cons

As a user for over 20 years, we initially faced limitations with the ODBC connection to the data. However, once we transitioned to the SQL database, it opened up a whole new world of possibilities for data reporting.

A good choice.

Pros

I love the quick support provided by the Workwise group. They continuously develop meaningful improvements and often seek our feedback on important features and methods. Workwise has made significant improvements in documentation, training and help resources for users.

Cons

To obtain database output in a raw, columnar form for use in spreadsheets and other programs like our payroll service, we create our own SQL reports. While the pre-written downloadable reports are nicely formatted for printing with merging, multiple lines, text wrapping and blank columns, they can be challenging to use for analysis as we need to "un-format" them.

Workwise ERP Review

Pros

This software encompasses all the necessary modules for manufacturing, including engineering, production control and RMA. Also the IT department is very helpful when dealing with unusual or special situations.

Cons

Personally, I found the forms designer and SSRS report writers difficult to use without additional training.

Long time user

Pros

Personally, I find the workbenches to be very useful. They make it easy to navigate and access the data entry points or the specific data we need.

Cons

I would greatly appreciate it, if I have a report writer that would allow me to create more customized reports. While the business metrics workbench is fantastic, there are occasions when I simply need a data dump of specific information.

Electronics Manufacturer

Pros

We use the cloud and Apple computers to run the software, and we have experienced good reliability, which was a major concern for us. The workbenches are especially helpful in customizing the user experience. While the reports could benefit from improvement, the system is impressively quick in retrieving data during searches.

Cons

Prior to our go-live with the software, we would have benefited from more detailed training. Manipulating the reports within the system itself is not easy, and although many can be exported to Excel, it would be more preferable if they were native to the system or included a report writer.

New WorkWise Software Customer

Pros

The software offers full functionality, from Customer/Vendor setup to the Financial Statement process. We are particularly excited to fully utilize the DDX function as we strive to become paperless. Also the ability to export data to Excel is crucial and much more user-friendly compared to our previous software package.

Cons

I must admit that the software was not as intuitive as I expected. However, our company made the attempt to install it without formal WorkWise training, and I don't recommend taking that approach. If given the chance to do it over, I would schedule a more formalized training and installation process.

Pros

The workbenches, especially the Financial Workbench, provide valuable drill-down capability and exporting functionality.

Great Data; Supportive Company

Pros

Our live system has been in operation for eight months, and being cloud-based, it offers great accessibility from virtually anywhere. The transparency and ability to extract and analyze data surpass any previous software used by our company. Although we had a slow start, we have already made better, data-driven decisions, and we eagerly anticipate how much more efficiently we will be able to monitor the business.

Cons

As an admin for the system, I find it frustrating that there are numerous bugs. The turnaround time for support tickets can be quite slow, especially when they require review by programmers. The lack of communication during the waiting period makes it even more challenging. It's frustrating when I can't provide clear updates to department managers regarding issues that are impacting their productivity. Additionally, there are too many clicks involved in processes like shipping large orders or orders with non-stock and non-controlled items. The bank reconciliation and other financial functions also feel clunky.

Great Software for small to middle market companies!

Pros

I really love the option to customize the menus and the flexibility to work with Workwise to obtain modifications when needed.

Cons

I kindly request an upgrade of the entire system to the new programming platform, cutting the ties with the old legacy components.

CONFIGURATOR

Pros

I have had a positive experience with customer service. They demonstrate accuracy and avoid any second-guessing. When customers call, there is no need to guess which choices align with their potential sale. For example, if a customer requests 2" casters with a bumper, the system automatically excludes that choice as it is only available with 3" casters. The software provides a complete Bill of Materials (BOM) and costs, even when stacking two units with all accessories included. Customers can conveniently view the acknowledgment upfront, with specific options listed. The IT department utilizes the Forecast Tool, which utilizes SKU data instead of configurator data. In terms of finance, there is no need to roll costs and customer service doesn't have to wait for SKU creation and cost rolling. In production planning, the software offers a complete BOM with all options and the ability to stack them into one unique BOM.

Cons

In terms of engineering, there is a major issue with the increased use of DWG files. Adding extra levels of non-stocked and non-controlled assemblies is a negative aspect in production planning. When a configured unit is returned, it requires creating a SKU, which adds complexity.

Good System if you understand its limitations

Pros

I come to know that for a great price, I could select the features I needed for my business. The software offers a wide range of functionalities, although some modules have limitations. However, the software consistently improves every year and is heading in the right direction. I mainly like the ability to add custom fields almost anywhere in the system and modify the workbenches to suit my needs. It is built on MS SQL Server, granting full access to the data when hosting. While the Dash document repository is excellent on its own, there is room for improvement in the printing options within the software.

Cons

Software vendor is still working on replacing the "old" pieces of the software, which are cumbersome and lack streamlining. Printing options leave much to be desired, with limited choices and the need to pre-define everything for email/faxing. The only option available at the time of printing is to bypass those presets and select a physical printer. Even setting up default printers for various documents requires typing in the printer path without any look-ups or drop-down menus. While the shop floor, scheduling and costing features are commendable, it's essential to fully understand your needs and the software's limitations. The standard cost option is available, but if you have multiple sites, you can only have one standard cost. Furthermore, when moving items into inventory, the cost breakdown between labor, material and overhead is lost. Lastly, assembling financial reports is limited and assembling them feels clunky. Thankfully, like most ERP vendors, they have a great third-party financial package provider that integrates seamlessly and is cost-effective.

Excellent ERP for Small to Medium Manufacturing Operations

Pros

I am impressed by the ease of use of this software and its seamless integration with CRM. The price is reasonable, especially considering the cloud offering. The customer support has been helpful throughout my experience. The workflow for engineer to order is smooth, and the integration with SolidWorks is valuable. Additionally, the scheduling capabilities are great.

Cons

The install team should improve their knowledge of our Cloud Environment to ensure thoroughness.

WorkWise ERP

Pros

Personally, I really like how the workbenches make it easy to navigate to different areas without leaving the current screen.

Cons

There are numerous bugs that need to be addressed on an almost daily basis, and our help tickets do not receive quick attention. Additionally, our IT personnel are required to write reports for us that we are unable to generate within WW.

Software Review

Pros

One notable aspect is the ability to customize features which makes it possible for me to store all of my business information in one software program. The company provides representatives who can visit my business to train employees on how to use the software properly. Moreover, the forms generated by the software have a professional appearance.

Cons

It seems like software cater to users who never make mistakes. Rectifying errors is a complex process as it lacks quick fixes. We find ourselves frequently working outside the software to resolve issues and problems. Also the inability to edit invoices once they are processed poses a problem for us. It does not sufficiently support large projects with multiple purchase orders. The available reports do not contain the necessary information we require. The base program is quite basic and necessitates expensive customization to be useful. Orders often get locked up and cannot be used until someone releases them. The financial module could benefit from further improvements.

Their level of service has really dropped off

Pros

I have personally used this software for almost twenty years, during two different time periods. And from my experience everything is ok but not exceptional.

Cons

The software still requires manual posting of transactions from the AP, AR, Job Cost and Inventory Management modules to the GL. We have developed several ODBC reports to assist in running the business.

Everything in ONE system!

Pros

We left behind six outdated systems that were hindering our efficiency, data integrity, and inventory controls. The software has played a major role in reducing paper usage and providing better visibility into our workflows. We transitioned to electronic timekeeping and improved shop floor responsibility. Establishing a strong connection with the WorkWise project manager greatly facilitated our implementation.

Cons

The program necessitated extensive customization, leading to increased costs. Resolving customer support cases can be a time-consuming process. Prior to being assigned a Project Manager, we encountered significant delays. We strongly recommend being assigned a WW project manager from the start. The program has a somewhat dated feel to it.

Veteren users with not reason to leave.

Pros

Workwise is constantly making advancements, continuously adding new features and addressing software bugs. Their customer service quickly addresses any issues, and contacting support to speak with a real person is easy. The workbenches have proven to be incredibly valuable for our company, allowing users to customize their interaction with the software to suit their specific needs.

Cons

The response time for software programming-related issues has slowed down since the development was recently moved to Shanghai. This change has also affected the integration speed for partner vendors.

30 + User

Pros

The software offers great flexibility, providing multiple ways to perform different functions. We have the freedom to choose the modules we currently need and add others later without having to force our company processes to fit the software. It excels in manufacturing and inventory control, and users have the opportunity to provide input for future enhancements. The role-based workbenches can be customized for each user as needed.

Cons

At times, upgrades are released too frequently without addressing the bugs in the current version. There is a need for improvement in setting up security from an admin standpoint.

Solid Functionality and Feature Rich

Pros

I can confidently say that the core functionality of this software is the best. It consistently delivers reliable results, even with tens of thousands of daily transactions. It accommodates all of our business processes, either within the software itself or with the help of partner products.

Cons

The addition of Workbenches has made exporting data extremely easy and convenient. However, the system reporting and summary reporting are typically not user-friendly and lack customization options according to a user's specific needs.

TCM ERP review

Pros

The software offers wide functional flexibility and a good range of modules. The online help has significantly improved, and the support provided when making a connection is commendable. In emergency situations, the response has been quick. Upgrades have been smoother compared to my past experiences with other software.

Cons

Printing and PDF usage could be improved a lot without relying on third-party support. It would be better if MODs were included in future revisions instead of ongoing upgrade charges. Dealing with a mod years after its implementation can be frustrating. Patches and updates often introduce problems due to incomplete testing. Customer support on cases can experience significant delays, sometimes lasting for years, with an average waiting time of 90 days or more, which is not acceptable to users. Bugs and lack of support create frustrations for users, and TCM support within our organization (like me) has to overcome or accept these challenges while supporting Workwise software.
