“Had a smooth experience

Pros

It is an ultimate no code platform so if you choose to skip reviewing the code you can. Also it integrates smoothly with Github and Supabase right on the interface. The preview feature lets me easily check how my app looks on both desktop and mobile which is quite handy.

Cons

I subscribed to their basic plan but it does not offer enough to build even a simple app. And upgrading to the pro level requires a significant price jump.

“This is by far the best tool I've tried

Pros

I have tried multiple tools but it tops all of them by a long shot. Also it is highly intuitive, quite easy to use and feels like it was built for developers. It is completely streamlined my workflow and I can confidently say it is miles ahead of competitors like Bolt.new and Windsurf. Plus the speed, features and clean design make it enjoyable to use, letting me focus on coding and building instead of dealing with clunky features. And it makes far fewer mistakes than other tools.

Cons

At first I was confused about the usage limits since they were not clearly shown while editing the code. This is a minor issue though and does not take away from how impressive the platform is overall. It would be much better if the limits were displayed more clearly in the interface.

“Provides a solid foundation to display your work

Pros

What I love most about Lovable.dev is how easy it is to use. If I have an idea about anything, I just type a prompt and it instantly gives me exactly what I need. This simplicity has made it a must have tool for me as I use it every day.

Cons

The templates are great but I felt there were not many options for personalizing them. Also the free version is fine but the premium plan seems a bit overpriced. Also as my portfolio grew, I realized that there are not many features for managing larger or more complex projects.

Pros

It is an excellent tool. It lets us easily build web applications. And with a detailed description of what I want to create, GPT Engineer is a real blessing for new developers.

Cons

This product has way too many limitations that I do not like at all.

Pros

Well it works instantly as all I need to do is just type a prompt for any code I need and it delivers right away.

Cons

I have to copy the prompt from the actual CHATGPT website to make it work or else it just gives random results.

Pros

I have been using it for a few months now and I have not looked back. The platform is very user friendly especially for someone with basic coding knowledge. Plus it integrates seamlessly with Supabase for open source databases and GitHub for version control. Also the support team is easily reachable on Discord and is always ready to help with any challenges. They regularly take user feedback into account and continue improving the product. Overall I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful, user-friendly and constantly evolving tool for their projects.

Cons

There is nothing I particularly dislike especially with the recent updates. But I will just suggest adding more video tutorials to match the upgrades and emails sent to users.

“Able to test out various features in no time

Pros

GPT Engineer is great for prototyping especially for me as a web developer. The most favourite feature is the ability to interact with the AI and instantly generate code snippets based on free text descriptions. Moreover it is very fast.

Cons

Well the debugging tools in it could be better as they are not very developed, which makes it hard for me to identify the root cause of errors. This can be discouraging especially when you are working on a big project.

“Works the best for me

Pros

For me as a web developer it has been an amazing tool for brainstorming ideas and quickly putting together mockups. I can now chat with AI to write code snippets and try out different designs during my initial development stages.

Cons

Sometimes the generated code is incorrect or has function discrepancies meaning I spend time reviewing and fixing errors before I can use it in my projects.

Pros

It is pretty easy to use and I am really impressed with how quickly it can generate web apps.

I wish I had more credits to use because I tend to go through them pretty quickly.

“Fantastic app with an awesome team

Pros

I have tested several AI software engineering platforms and GPT Engineer strikes the best balance between price and quality. Beyond the current quality of the app they are constantly working to improve it and actively incorporate feedback.

Cons

The current limitations of LLMs mean that as the project size grows it can start losing track of things. That said it is a common issue with all AI software engineers not just GPT Engineer.

“Practical not Perfect

Pros

It is so helpful for converting hand drawn wireframe design photos into HTML/CSS webpages. Even though the wireframe image was not very clear, the output I got was still excellent as no elements were missing. Plus it shows previews for different device views like mobile and desktop.

Cons

It uses default React.js technology which I cannot change. So I always have to specify that I want responses in plain HTML/CSS which is a bit of an issue for me.

Pros

I have been using GPT Engineer for a few weeks now and the results have blown me away. I have rebuilt projects that would normally take years in just a matter of days and weeks. Also it is great for understanding the code and making manual changes. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced developer, it is a fantastic tool to bring your ideas to life.

Cons

There is very little to complain about. There are occasional small issues but the support on Discord is absolutely top notch.

GPT Engineer has a highly intuitive interface that simplifies complex tasks which makes it easy to use even for those without technical knowledge. Also it provides efficient solutions which saves time on troubleshooting. Its flexibility and ability to learn from interactions make it an invaluable tool for improving workflows.

Cons

One downside is that it sometimes generates overly complex solutions for simple tasks which could overwhelm less experienced users. Additionally it can miss contextual nuances making me do manual adjustments to perfect its outputs for specialized tasks.
