“love the comprehensive tools for managing fundraising events

I love that BetterUnite is a comprehensive fundraising platform with tools for everything, from managing silent auctions and tracking bids to recognizing donors and handling event registration. It's impressive how many advanced features are available for free to nonprofits. The onboarding process was excellent and the support was outstanding, ensuring our first hybrid fundraising event was a success. Even as a small nonprofit with limited fundraising experience, we found it easy to manage automated communications and generate tax-deductible receipts for auction winners.
Cons
The platform is well-designed and can handle both simple and complex fundraising setups. Initially, it took some time to understand the payout process for the funds raised but the support team quickly guided me through the process and clarified everything.

Pros
It was free and very simple to use. Once I emailed customer support, they were very responsive and detailed, and they have a helpful library of FAQs.
Cons
There's no live customer support, which means submitting a ticket can delay responses for urgent matters.

Pros
BetterUnite is my go-to solution for all aspects of charity and fundraising events. I find its interface easy to use and it connects seamlessly to most major payment systems. It's a well-regarded platform in the fundraising community and I appreciate how comprehensive it is.
Cons
I think a commercial model allowing clients to use their own merchant processing solutions, like Authorize.net, would be a great addition.

“we went hybrid thanks to BetterUnite's flexibility
Pros
During the pandemic, we needed to pivot our usual fundraising event to a virtual format and BetterUnite was the perfect solution. It allowed us to hold an auction, conduct a paddle raise, and manage sponsorships without needing in-person interactions. It was so successful that we transitioned all our annual events to hybrid formats, making the donation and bidding process easier for everyone.
Cons
Not much can be disliked about BetterUnite! The Live Online Auction can be tricky in hybrid setups, where people bid online and in person, though that might just be a user error on my part. Choosing to display live auction items on BetterUnite and accept proxy bids has worked well, but we haven't opened online bidding for the live auction.

BetterUnite is quite user-friendly. The admin side is accessible, and updating information is very simple. I had no difficulty registering, checking in, or participating with our guests.
Cons
A minor issue is that the fair market value or tax language for offline purchases isn't customizable. While there's a feature for selecting payment types like DAFs, which are non-tax-deductible, the confirmation emails included tax language that shouldn't have been there, leaving me unsure how to remove it.

Most features are user-friendly and web-based, allowing us to use mobile devices at events and fully access all features. Support is exceptional.
Cons
I've noticed that there are many ways to accomplish tasks, but managing an event involves navigating at least five different buttons and links. More consistency in this area would help me and other casual users, like our volunteers, become more proficient.

This is my first experience working with BetterUnite, and I truly can't imagine what I would do without the customer support rep's help. She is always available to help! Her responses are incredibly prompt and she maintains a professional, calm demeanor while always bringing a smile. Whenever I've had a request, she has met it and answered all my questions thoroughly. At no point has she made me feel like any question was silly, instead she responds to my inquiries with a positive attitude, no matter how many times I ask the same thing.

The user interface for this platform is the best I've tried. It requires less technical expertise, allowing more people to get involved and reducing everyone's workload. There are no regular fees, they only take a percentage when you collect funds. The fundraiser templates look professional and are easy to create and customize to match our branding.
Cons
Mentioning any cons feels difficult, especially since BetterUnite outperforms its competitors. Like many platforms, it tries to be a one-size-fits-all solution, so some features could be tailored more to our specific needs.

Pros
I love that it's free (perfect for our small nonprofit), has many features, and is easy to use. The software has had a few minor hiccups, but the IT team has been quick to respond and resolve issues.
Cons
One misleading aspect is the automatic addition of a donation at checkout, rather than allowing donors the option to choose. Unchecking it if they don't want to contribute can be overlooked.

I appreciate its usability and appearance. The fact that it's free is amazing and setting up my campaign was easy and visually appealing with minimal effort. Now I receive updates as I raise money, which is exciting.
Cons
So far, everything has gone smoothly. It was impressive to be up and running in under 20 minutes, even while searching for images. Customer support hasn't been needed yet but the email from the BetterUnite team offering assistance right after I signed up is appreciated.
