OneCause Use Cases
Based on our analysis of OneCause’s features and product positioning, we have identified key scenarios where the platform is commonly used by nonprofits, charities, educational institutions, and fundraising organizations for event management, donor engagement, and revenue generation:
1. Healthcare Foundations Running Peer-To-Peer Fundraising Campaigns
Healthcare-focused nonprofits often rely on community-driven fundraising initiatives to expand donor reach and generate support for research, patient services, and awareness programs. Managing participant fundraising pages, donor engagement, and campaign performance across multiple channels can be challenging without dedicated tools. OneCause supports these organizations with peer-to-peer fundraising capabilities that enable supporters to create personalized fundraising pages, share campaigns with their networks, and track progress toward goals. This helps healthcare nonprofits increase community participation, expand fundraising reach, and drive stronger campaign results through supporter-led advocacy and giving.
2. Housing And Community Development Nonprofits Managing Fundraising Events
OneCause is well suited for housing and community development nonprofits that depend on fundraising events to support construction projects, community programs, and long-term organizational goals. These organizations often need to engage donors through auctions, ticketed events, and fundraising activities while keeping event management efficient. OneCause helps by combining mobile bidding, event fundraising, donor engagement, and payment processing into a single platform, enabling nonprofits to increase participation, simplify event operations, and maximize fundraising revenue.
3. Sports And Athletic Organizations Running Large-Scale Fundraising Campaigns
The platform is used for sports and athletic organizations, including Olympic and community sports programs, that often face challenges engaging large supporter bases, managing fundraising events, and maintaining donor participation throughout campaigns. Traditional fundraising methods can limit reach and make it difficult to sustain momentum before, during, and after events. OneCause addresses these challenges by providing mobile bidding, online giving, peer-to-peer fundraising, and event management tools that keep supporters engaged across multiple channels. Its real-time fundraising capabilities and participant-friendly experiences help sports organizations expand donor reach, increase event participation, and generate stronger fundraising results.
4. Child And Family Services Nonprofits Managing Long-Term Fundraising Programs
Child and family services nonprofits use OneCause for fundraising initiatives that require sustained donor engagement, recurring event management, and consistent revenue generation over time. These organizations often face challenges maintaining donor participation, coordinating annual fundraising events, and managing multiple fundraising activities without increasing administrative burden. OneCause helps address these issues by providing a unified platform for event fundraising, mobile bidding, online donations, and supporter engagement. By centralizing fundraising operations and simplifying event management, the platform enables nonprofits to strengthen donor relationships, improve campaign efficiency, and support long-term fundraising growth.

“Bidding made simple”
Pros
The app's interface is polished and professional and it really elevated the look of our fundraising event. The bidding process was simple to follow and the pricing feels reasonable compared with similar platforms. Overall it's simple to use, appears secure and is basically ready to launch without much hassle.
Cons
Some of my coworkers who have used it longer aren't happy with the recent software updates and because of that we're considering switching in 2026. Another factor is that we wanted a platform that connects with our donor management software and unfortunately OneCause doesn't offer that integration right now.
