“Baserow user just dabbling
Pros
We mainly use baserow as a substitute to google sheets and it does that exceptionally.
Cons
The biggest issue is that the free version only allows 1 user, which means all users have to share an account. Not very ideal but it works. I also understand this is a paid feature.

“Promising product, but not yet competitive to alternatives
Pros
It is open source, and can be used both hosted and self-hosted.
Cons
There are many basic features missing when compared to Airtable, such as Group By. The product also seems a bit slow to iterate and add these key features, which have been requested for more than 1 year ago.

“Affordable and Growing alternative to Airtable and Notion.
Pros
I think the most I liked about Baserow was that it offered a lot of the features I was expecting coming from using Notion. I also worked with Airtable before and I think that Baserow can substitute both those platforms. But it exceeds them because Baserow is open source. Thats what I like about this app. You can host it wherever you want and you get a solid user experience. I certainly see myself using this app for my day to day needs and for my clients as well. Also preparing templates with this app is easy and I would definitely pursue that angle as well.
Cons
I feel like a rich text field like HTML or Markdown is missing in Baserow. I saw it in their development roadmap and I cant wait to also see that field in the list of fields Baserow offers. This is important to me because with this field, I wont have to rely on google docs, or uploading markdown files to the attachment field for writing longer form content.

“Baserow functional modern database approach
Pros
I probably like the functionality and having the ability to self host the product is very important to be able to fully customize and align it with the institutions requirement.
Cons
The only thing we are missing is the live data view. For example is the live connection between airtable/google sheet existing table where we can see the changes to the original table in real time.

“A Refreshing Solution to Database Management
Pros
Baserow.io has emerged as an innovative and refreshing tool in the realm of database management. With its focus on simplicity, ease-of-use, and customization, it has certainly made the task of managing and manipulating data more accessible to a broader audience. The platforms no-code approach is one of its standout features. With a user-friendly drag-and-drop interface, it enables users to create, modify, and manage databases without having to write a single line of code. This feature is a game-changer, especially for non-technical users. Baserow.io is also impressively flexible. The software is open-source, allowing for extensive customization that goes beyond many competitors in the market. Users can add custom fields, tweak the interface, and even develop their own plugins to meet their specific needs.
Cons
One of the primary challenges with Baserow.io is its learning curve. Although the platform is designed to be user-friendly, new users, particularly those with little to no experience with databases, might find it somewhat intimidating at first. The interface, while clean and modern, can be overwhelming due to the multitude of options available.

“A nice alternative to Airtable!
Pros
I like the ease of setting up my templates and importing data from other locations. Also their pricing fits our small/mid-size organization better than Airtable, and the ability to connect to our servers to own our information.
Cons
Need more automations and ability to select more than one item at a time...would save tons of time.

“Capable open-source product for rapid integrations
Pros
In olden times, one would build integration around spreadsheets with technologies like Visual Basic and such. Filemaker is another piece of software that comes to mind. These projects often grow to form the backbone of small-medium sized companies. While the use case is completely legitimate, it can be frustrating to see the vendor lock-in and potential tech debt this causes. Baserow is open source, really nice and accessible from a user perspective and yields the more modern integration landscape of a web application / REST API.
Cons
Functionality is sometimes a little too basic, having page-sized print layouts would enable many more use cases.

“A great basic product that needs slight polishing to be outstanding.
Pros
Easy migration from other applications and the lean and clean interface. The support has been outstanding.
Cons
The worst feature by far is typography. The emphasis is on the structure rather than the content. For example, the Field names are Black and Bold and prominent, while the content is grey and subsidiary. The lack of any typographic controls is almost a deal breaker.
