“Best Open Source Self-Hosted Airtable Alternative
Pros
If you want the ease of use of solutions like Airtable but at the same time control over your data and no vendor lock-in, look no further than Baserow!
Cons
The product is stable but not fully mature yet. Do not expect perfect UI/UX that other solutions like Rows or Airtable might offer

“Excellent Tool for Multi Variable Cataloging
Pros
Baserow is the most affordable software on the market that allows for easily creating a highly customizable, multi variable catalog of items and even has the capacity to include photos. I use it to create and sort lists of hundreds of items and props and organize them by all the scenes that they play in. When the scheduled day for a scene changes, with a few simple clicks, I can change the day that scene was slated to shoot on and all the dozens of not hundreds of props associated with that scene shift to the new day. It has shaved so much time off of managing itemized lists.
Cons
The interface on mobile or tablet is a bit crowded. But I understand that is also somewhat because of how I use the product out in the field. I feel like the card view could have more formating or vanity organizational options.

“A Refreshing Approach to Database Management
Pros
Baserow.io has revolutionized the way we handle databases by introducing simplicity and accessibility. One of the standout features is its no-code approach, which empowers users to effortlessly create, modify, and manage databases without requiring any coding skills. The intuitive drag-and-drop interface makes the entire process seamless and enjoyable. Baserow.io caters to a wide range of users, including those without a technical background, by eliminating the need for complex programming.
Cons
While Baserow.io offers an exceptional approach to database management, there are a few considerations to keep in mind. As with any software, there may be a learning curve for new users who are unfamiliar with the platforms unique interface and functionalities. However, with the availability of resources such as documentation and tutorials, users can quickly overcome this initial hurdle.

“Great effort. Needs many improvements.
Pros
Clean interface. Seems to load much faster than airtable. Support is by far exceeds others.
Cons
Baserow, is missing many features offered by airtable. Such as the view imbed feature, where we can imbed a certain view, with automatically generated I frame, with options to convert the view into card format, (horizontal), thats very pleasing to look at. another, is hidden items. with baserow there is no option to hide items in order to minimize but have all items fully visible in expanded mode. in base row hidden items remain hidden, which makes the entire feature worthless. also, the controls, are as worthless as airtable, and are not compatible with mobile devices, in imbed / I Frame mode. Serious IOs compatibility as well, just like the competition.

Pros
Its simplicity and ease of use. Its a daily use for me with project planning and keeping track of records, such as client design requests and comments.

Only con I can think of would be the storage, even for the lowest paid tier ($5/mo) you only get 5GB of storage. Id like to see it being at least 20GB or higher.

Open Source nature is attractive because you can always self host it. The no-code approach also allows users to have the ease of use that MS Excel provides. Like the iFrame embedding as well.

“Baserow.io is simply easy
Pros
Baserow.io stands out for its ease of use, it requires less advanced technical skills. The intuitive interface and quick setup allowed us to create custom databases and start working on our projects promptly.
Cons
One limitation of Baserow.io is its relatively limited advanced functionalities for complex data handling or manipulation. While it excels in simplicity and basic database management, however, it lacks the advanced features needed for sophisticated data operations.

“A Reliable Alternative with Impressive Features
Pros
My overall experience with Baserow has been excellent, and I wholeheartedly recommend it, especially to individuals familiar with Notion or Airtable. As someone who encountered connectivity issues with both Notion and Airtable in my location, I was delighted to discover that I could easily resolve this problem by hosting my own instance of Baserow on a personal server. What impressed me the most about Baserow is that it encompasses many of the features I anticipated from using Notion, making it a suitable substitute for both platforms. However, what sets Baserow apart is its open-source nature, which allows users to host it anywhere they prefer while enjoying a reliable and exceptional user experience. I can confidently say that Baserow has become an integral part of my day-to-day operations, and I am eager to utilize it for both personal and client needs. Furthermore, the ease of preparing templates within the app has been a noteworthy advantage that I intend to explore further.
Cons
While Baserow has proven to be an impressive alternative, its important to acknowledge a couple of areas that could be further improved. Firstly, enhancing the reporting and visualization capabilities would provide users with advanced tools for data analysis and presentation, which would greatly enhance the overall experience. Additionally, offering more extensive customization options, such as the ability to tailor the user interface, would provide users with greater flexibility to adapt the platform to their specific requirements. However, it is important to note that these cons are relatively minor in comparison to the substantial benefits and functionalities that Baserow offers as an open-source online database solution.

“No-Code DB Builder
Pros
The Data Storage, Database design which is drag n drop makes this a more better product. The availability of a number of templates that align to the Project needs is welcome and the User Interface design is welcome. Further, the structure of Project management and layout plays a more bigger role in the daily activity management of App.
Cons
It is not easily understood to a non-starter and the pricing model while seems average, more needs to be done on the feature availability and a more cost-effective method or package defined.

Pros

Pros

“Affordable and Growing alternative to Airtable and Notion.
Pros
I think the most I liked about Baserow was that it offered a lot of the features I was expecting coming from using Notion. I also worked with Airtable before and I think that Baserow can substitute both those platforms. But it exceeds them because Baserow is open source. Thats what I like about this app. You can host it wherever you want and you get a solid user experience. I certainly see myself using this app for my day to day needs and for my clients as well. Also preparing templates with this app is easy and I would definitely pursue that angle as well.
Cons
I feel like a rich text field like HTML or Markdown is missing in Baserow. I saw it in their development roadmap and I cant wait to also see that field in the list of fields Baserow offers. This is important to me because with this field, I wont have to rely on google docs, or uploading markdown files to the attachment field for writing longer form content.

“Baserow functional modern database approach
Pros
I probably like the functionality and having the ability to self host the product is very important to be able to fully customize and align it with the institutions requirement.

“A Refreshing Solution to Database Management
Pros
Baserow.io has emerged as an innovative and refreshing tool in the realm of database management. With its focus on simplicity, ease-of-use, and customization, it has certainly made the task of managing and manipulating data more accessible to a broader audience. The platforms no-code approach is one of its standout features. With a user-friendly drag-and-drop interface, it enables users to create, modify, and manage databases without having to write a single line of code. This feature is a game-changer, especially for non-technical users. Baserow.io is also impressively flexible. The software is open-source, allowing for extensive customization that goes beyond many competitors in the market. Users can add custom fields, tweak the interface, and even develop their own plugins to meet their specific needs.
Cons
One of the primary challenges with Baserow.io is its learning curve. Although the platform is designed to be user-friendly, new users, particularly those with little to no experience with databases, might find it somewhat intimidating at first. The interface, while clean and modern, can be overwhelming due to the multitude of options available.

“Capable open-source product for rapid integrations
Pros
In olden times, one would build integration around spreadsheets with technologies like Visual Basic and such. Filemaker is another piece of software that comes to mind. These projects often grow to form the backbone of small-medium sized companies. While the use case is completely legitimate, it can be frustrating to see the vendor lock-in and potential tech debt this causes. Baserow is open source, really nice and accessible from a user perspective and yields the more modern integration landscape of a web application / REST API.

Functionality is sometimes a little too basic, having page-sized print layouts would enable many more use cases.

“A great basic product that needs slight polishing to be outstanding.
Pros
Easy migration from other applications and the lean and clean interface. The support has been outstanding.
