If you want the ease of use of solutions like Airtable but at the same time control over your data and no vendor lock-in, look no further than Baserow!

The product is stable but not fully mature yet. Do not expect perfect UI/UX that other solutions like Rows or Airtable might offer

“Excellent Tool for Multi Variable Cataloging

Pros

Baserow is the most affordable software on the market that allows for easily creating a highly customizable, multi variable catalog of items and even has the capacity to include photos. I use it to create and sort lists of hundreds of items and props and organize them by all the scenes that they play in. When the scheduled day for a scene changes, with a few simple clicks, I can change the day that scene was slated to shoot on and all the dozens of not hundreds of props associated with that scene shift to the new day. It has shaved so much time off of managing itemized lists.

Cons

The interface on mobile or tablet is a bit crowded. But I understand that is also somewhat because of how I use the product out in the field. I feel like the card view could have more formating or vanity organizational options.

Baserow, is missing many features offered by airtable. Such as the view imbed feature, where we can imbed a certain view, with automatically generated I frame, with options to convert the view into card format, (horizontal), thats very pleasing to look at. another, is hidden items. with baserow there is no option to hide items in order to minimize but have all items fully visible in expanded mode. in base row hidden items remain hidden, which makes the entire feature worthless. also, the controls, are as worthless as airtable, and are not compatible with mobile devices, in imbed / I Frame mode. Serious IOs compatibility as well, just like the competition.

When using the API, the field names are very cryptic and I havent figured out a way to make them more readable.

Only con I can think of would be the storage, even for the lowest paid tier ($5/mo) you only get 5GB of storage. Id like to see it being at least 20GB or higher.

Open Source nature is attractive because you can always self host it. The no-code approach also allows users to have the ease of use that MS Excel provides. Like the iFrame embedding as well.

Could use a desktop app for this. Not a fan of web browser apps for this kind of work.

The free tier is super generous, making it an easy recommendation for many clients to just test the waters first before committing to the product full on. It has support for many types of fields but were waiting on a few more to be released!

Kanban is not available on the free tier, making it difficult to use it on small unpaid projects for planning.

The Data Storage, Database design which is drag n drop makes this a more better product. The availability of a number of templates that align to the Project needs is welcome and the User Interface design is welcome. Further, the structure of Project management and layout plays a more bigger role in the daily activity management of App.

It is not easily understood to a non-starter and the pricing model while seems average, more needs to be done on the feature availability and a more cost-effective method or package defined.
