“Fixes coding mistakes timely”

One thing I really appreciate is how it helps programmers figure out solutions when they run into errors or mistakes.

Cons

At the same time, it can be pretty cryptic which makes it hard for the average person to understand.

Pros

Working with it has been really helpful because it makes collaborating with other developers simple and gives me a reliable way to keep track of my code. There's also a huge range of open-source projects available so contributing to different communities is a big plus.

Cons

Something I'm not a fan of is that there isn't a convenient way to see all the contributors on a project in one place. I also feel the pricing is a little expensive compared to what's included.

As a computer scientist and coder, this has been an excellent place to keep everything in one spot. I really appreciate being able to share my code with co-workers and it works really well as a reliable place to store all my scripts and code whenever I forget something or need to go back and review it.

What could make it better is having a step-by-step introduction for new users because the first-time experience can feel overwhelming and a little confusing.

Uploading and downloading code is simple and it does a really good job of making code reusable while helping teams share knowledge with multiple users.

Pros

Tracking down well-coded open-source projects doesn't take much effort with this platform. Getting started takes less than five minutes, managing users is simple and the collaboration features work really well.

Cons

The pricing around Github operations can be a bit hard to figure out. Version control is definitely one of its biggest advantages but if you're new to it, learning how to use it can feel challenging.

Pros

Working with a team feels much more dynamic because each person can upload their own code and then everything can be combined in an organized way. It also gives you the option to store all the code you want in a separate repository in case you need to review it again later.

Cons

On the downside, you have to be careful when uploading code if you are sharing it with a team because otherwise it can create a conflict and throw an error. You also need to make sure you choose the right repository for your code since sometimes selecting a new repository causes an error and you end up needing to create a token before you can upload it.

Pros

Running this on a PC has been a good experience and it feels especially well suited for people who are just getting started with coding.

Cons

Mobile support still needs work since the app doesn't feel optimized enough on those devices.

It has been really useful for storing and sharing code in a convenient way. It also makes tracking down and discussing code issues much simpler which helps a lot during development. Feedback tends to come faster and the large, supportive community makes it a strong place to learn from other developers as well.

If you want strong control over your code base, I don't really have any downsides to point out.

The code examples are laid out clearly and I can pull them up whenever I need them during any project I've worked on so far.

Only challenge for me is explaining it to someone who doesn't really get it but that's not the software's fault at all so I honestly don't have any complaints. Maybe an entertaining, quick self-help guide for beginners that's always ready and accessible would be a fun addition.

Truth is that it has been good for me.. especially because I am just learning while using it. And this was the main reason I started using it.

I don't have any complaints so far as I haven't had a chance to check out all its functions or see what it can fully do yet.

An excellent tool for managing version control!! And also the pull request feature is especially useful to have.

Undoing a bad merge can be really difficult and the platform feels overwhelming and intimidating at first.

It works really well as a hub for collaborators and I also use it in projects with my students. It's useful both as a working tool and as cloud storage which makes it very practical.

It isn't that simple at first to get used to the functionality.. so I'd recommend adding a video tutorial on the application page to help new users learn faster.

There's a lot packed into this product especially when it comes to commands and overall capabilities which is a big plus. It's not the most beginner-friendly tool though and anyone new to version control systems will probably need some time before feeling fully comfortable with it. On the plus side, setting it up with VS Code was simple because of the range of plugins available.

Cons

honestly I can't point to anything about it that I dislike. I've been using it for about two years and I'm very happy with it overall. The learning curve felt a bit intimidating at the start but with some persistence and the right mindset, I was able to get the hang of it.

It covers a lot in one place, from collaboration tools and code search to source code management, continuous integration support and code review. Having all of these features together makes development work much more organized and efficient.

Cons

Some of the features do take a bit of basic training before you can use them confidently.
