Pros

Offers unlimited private repositories which is a big advantage since most other providers still put a cap on private repos.

Cons

The interface feels a bit dated and not very modern and it's missing newer features such as SMS and email notifications.

Using it feels very simple and the website interface is clean and user-friendly.

Troubleshooting can be difficult when SSH encryption is involved since it's not always clear what's causing the issue.

Pros

The tagging feature has been a big win for our team. It makes it much easier to track builds and if something goes wrong, we can quickly roll back to an older build without much hassle. The blame feature is really useful too since it lets us dig into specific commits and see exactly who made each change.

Cons

CLI was a bit tough to get used to at the beginning and learning the tags and arguments took some effort. Once that initial learning curve is out of the way though, it becomes much more manageable.

Keeping track of versions is simple and it works really well when collaborating with a team.

Merging can feel a bit confusing for newer developers although that usually stops being much of a problem once they get used to it.

Pros

Working with SQL queries every day means we're constantly adjusting and refining them so having it to track every change has been incredibly useful. It keeps everyone updated on the latest edits and has made collaboration much more efficient for our team.

Cons

One downside is that even as a small-scale user, I still had to pay for my profile. It would make a lot of sense for it to offer a lower-cost plan for people who only need to pull data and don't need to upload or manage new changes.

Pros

It offers a really polished user experience which makes it much simpler for beginners to understand how Git actually works. Creating README files is pretty simple too and that helps others quickly get a clear idea of what a repository contains. As a developer, I also appreciate how convenient it is to add contributors even when working with a private repository.

Cons

A concern with it is security. It's still important to be careful not to commit access keys together with your code.

This tool integrates really well with an organization's internal source code management tools making it possible to mirror commits and pull requests into a public open-source project repository without much hassle.

An issue that comes up quite often is using an authenticator app which is required when linking a personal account with an organization.

Simple and convenient to use. I honestly wouldn't get much done at work without this product and I'd definitely recommend it for business needs.

It's really handy for hosting a static website especially when you're learning and it also makes open-source software easy to discover.

One limitation is that it doesn't connect with every testing tool, such as Katalon which affects automation testing on some projects.

Back in high school, when programming first caught my attention, it was one of the first tools I started using. I really appreciate how well it keeps up with constant advances in technology. Before using this platform, moving code around felt pretty dated and outdated. It's an excellent tool and I end up using it every single hour.

Cons

I don't have anything negative to point out here. It's just been excellent.

The interface feels very user-friendly so getting around the platform doesn't take much effort. It's simple to use overall and integrating the pipeline was also simple.

It still doesn't offer as many features as GitLab and the branches tab doesn't give us enough information.

GitHub is free for the community and also offers options for enterprises. It includes all the essential tools needed to build an application without hassle.

One thing that's still missing is support for Docker containers in the image registry. GitLab already offers this but this one doesn't.

Pros

Collaborating on projects with teammates has become really simple with this tool. It lets multiple developers work on the same project at once and everything stays in sync without conflicts which works perfectly. Also, integrating it into our project was very simple.

Cons

It does a really strong job with repository hosting but I'd still like to see more improvement in its CI/CD features.

Getting started with it is really simple and the integration works very well too.

Cons

The frustrating part is how difficult it is to claim an inactive handle so you often have to settle for a random one instead.
