“I love Tracking Time for my freelance business

Pros

Tracking time has made it incredibly easy for me to monitor hours spent on different projects throughout the day even simultaneously. It is a fantastic addition that can be installed as a Google Chrome extension for quick clock ins. The reports and project management tab are particularly helpful when creating invoices and tracking my weekly work.

Cons

Currently I don't have any cons about the software.

Pros

The software effectively helps me stay focused and eliminate distractions. There are many similar apps but this one definitely delivers.

Cons

I have come across some paid apps that work better but it is a toss up whether you want to pay and whether you truly need a more advanced structure or just the basics.

“Nifty tool to analyze where your time is being used

Pros

The tool is omnipresent. I can use it anywhere from my email to the desktop app. The auto sync feature ensures that the dashboard stays up to date, regardless of where I am tracking time. Furthermore the analytics provide comprehensive insights into how I spend my time.

Cons

Some features are paid which should be included in the basic package like the analytics report. The free plan only provides basic analytics. The support chat bubble keeps popping up in the desktop app.

Pros

Setting goals such as achieving a certain number of hours of software development each day is a fantastic feature. I like having access to analytics on both desktop and mobile devices and the program has a reasonable small memory footprint. It operates so smoothly that I don't even notice it running in the background.

Cons

Nothing in particular everything is functioning as expected.

I was really impressed with the concept of this tool and how easily I could use it. I truly like the start and stop feature where I can simply click a button to begin a task and know the exact time.

Cons

I believe it could be made slightly simpler. I wouldn't add more features instead, I would explore ways to streamline its simplicity.

Pros

The presence of a progress bar that measures the time spent on a project within the assigned budget is a very valuable feature.

There are moments when I am not tracking time yet the ball on Chrome (the Chrome extension) still appears red as if I am. That confuses me. Additionally starting to track time requires creating a task which should be optional. I would prefer to start tracking time directly by the project. Sometimes I forget to stop the timer, and I read somewhere that there was an update to detect this and stop tracking but its not working for me. So I have to edit the time. Accessing the time log is not that straightforward. I wish it was easier.

Pros

I am a big fan of being able to track the time I spend on tasks in real time. All I have to do is hit the 'play' button for a specific task within a project and then press 'stop' when I want to stop tracking.

Cons

Forgetting to click 'stop' causes the time to continue accumulating occasionally extending into the weekend. It could benefit from a timeout or notification to flag such instances.

Its very simple to use and the instructions for downloading the extension are straightforward.

I am unable to use TrackingTime without an internet connection and this is a drawback

Pros

Its highly accurate and once I understood how it worked. it was much easier than my previous system.

It was quite hard to learn how to use it with software that was not web based.

Learning how to use it was a piece of cake. It efficiently tracks projects that have multiple components.

Cons

The free version restricts the number of active tasks you can have. Honestly I have been using TrackingTime for a couple of years and have only encountered this a few times.

Pros

I absolutely love the ease of tracking my time and adding new projects. The ability to get an overview of my week and see how many hours I have worked each day is incredibly helpful as a freelancer. And being able to sync it with my phone is a huge convenience!

Cons

I am not a fan of the subscription model. I would much prefer a one time cost.

Pros

I have been using the free version to keep track of my project time and it seems to work pretty well. I like the reminders for ongoing activities and the option to go back and fill in time if needed.

Cons

I wish there was a mobile application available. Additionally it would be great if I could set the time I want to spend on each task and receive notifications when I should switch tasks, prompting me if I have indeed switched.

Pros

This application offers multiples benefits when working with freelance clients or remote companies. It allows you to calculate your working hours by simply starting the tracker. If you forget to start it you can easily begin a new time log and edit the start time. You can also provide detailed descriptions of your tasks during that period, keep a record of hours worked per day, week or month and calculate the average number of days worked in a week. This app has truly helped me manage my time and labor costs.

Cons

There is room for improvement in various aspects such as incorporating screen captures while working and integrating with a payment gateway to send receipts with attached summaries of hours.

Pros

I rely on this software to track the hours I spend on hourly projects and to keep myself motivated and focused. I love that I can assign dates to different parts of the projects and mark their urgency levels.

Cons

The support for TrackingTime is very very slow.

“A lightweight, full featured time tracking service that gets the job done.

Pros

The capability to instantly access metrics on tracked hours, performance targets and overall usage without having to spend time creating or reviewing complex reports is priceless. The dashboard view alone provides everything a Project Manager needs to proactively adjust resources and priorities.

Cons

The inability to have two users contribute to a shared task is a major hurdle to wider implementation and adoption within our organization. This combined with limited access control features and a lack of flexibility in input method, prevents it from being the best in class application and relegates it to just being an excellent contender in an already crowded field.
