User-friendly interface

Pros

The interface is very user-friendly in my opinion especially the integration module that connects well with a wide range of vendor products.

Cons

Since the product is still fairly new, it does come with some bugs. There are also occasional periods of downtime when maintenance updates and bug fixes are being rolled out.

Complete hotel management tool

Pros

It covers pretty much everything a hotel needs to run operations and it connects with most hotel-related systems too, including reservations, POS, marketing, sales, guest communication, housekeeping, engineering, ticketing, finance, payroll and more.

Cons

Pricing is extremely high across the board installation, support, integrations and all of it. Turnaround times are not always ideal either and if you want a feature that is not already built in, getting it added or customized can feel nearly impossible.

easy to access from anywhere

Pros

Being able to access it from anywhere is a big advantage and the flexibility it provides works especially well for people who are constantly on the go. Another plus is that it connects with other systems, including event and restaurant management platforms. Up to this point, security has not caused any problems and the customer service has been better than expected.

Cons

It can run quite slowly and getting around the system could be made more convenient. It would be better to have more one-click tabs instead of needing two or three clicks to reach the section you want.

Efficient features but pricey

Pros

Running everything in one system cuts down a lot on tech headaches. There's no need for a bunch of computers and servers sitting in the back office which saves money on equipment and reduces how often you need to call IT. It covers the full hotel operation too, from checking guests in and out to keeping track of room inventory so it handles the key parts of daily management.

Cons

Connecting it with Shopify was much harder than expected. Between my GM and me, we can usually get new software set up without much trouble but this time we ended up needing professional help. It also costs a bit more than other hotel management options. On top of that, a strong and reliable internet connection is absolutely necessary, otherwise the system becomes very slow and crashes often. When that happens, customer support is frustratingly bad and you should expect to sit on hold for a long time every single time.

Amazing reservation management

Pros

Something that really works well for us is how it smoothly it handles reservations while also letting us enter details for other departments involved in event management. It sends reminders about upcoming events too which makes it easier to stay on top of what needs attention. Having all customer information managed in a single system is also cost-effective since there's no need to pay for separate software. Another helpful feature is being able to track the credit each customer has. On top of that, the system feels secure because people without the right access can't view this information.

Cons

It allows duplicate entries without giving any warning which often leads to repeated records. It can also software can be slow at times.

Convenient for daily operations

Pros

Installing it was very simple and that's what I appreciate most about it. The platform is simple to learn, making it easy to use for routine tasks. It's also convenient to update details and fix issues when needed and the integrated payment feature really helps speed up the payment process.

Cons

One downside with it, is how heavily it depends on a stable internet connection so any outage can immediately disrupt work. I'm also not a fan of how slow the system can be AT TIMES especially when certain reports take a long time to generate.

Handy diary for multi-property work

Pros

The diary feature works really well for property management and being able to handle multiple properties without constantly switching back and forth is very convenient.

Cons

Generating reports can be quite slow sometimes.

Not recommended from my side

Pros

It looks appealing on the surface but be careful because it does not actually work.

Cons

Since moving from V5 to Opera Cloud, the hotel has ended up with more work and even needed additional staff. It honestly feels like we've gone two steps backward. The support for Opera Cloud is terrible and very limited and most of the time the Opera team doesn't even know how to resolve the many problems we run into. Even basic tasks are an issue, like emailing folios, adjusting postings off or late charging guests.

Simplified work management

Pros

It stands out for how simple it is to use. The system feels very simple and clear when handling reservations, check-in, check-out, billing and commission management.

Cons

The updates it comes with are very heavy.

inefficient reporting feature

Pros

Interface is understandable and in some areas it's simple to set up.

Cons

I have experienced several major shortcomings with this system. It even struggles with basic German umlauts which should not be an issue in a professional platform. I also found the reporting feature to be very weak,for example I can store mailing action codes but I cannot actually do anything meaningful with them. Another problem is that I cannot build the usual rate structures because derived rates cannot be configured with different pricing. In my experience, customer support has been poor and extremely slow to respond. I have also faced frequent issues with the interface to Oxi, as it is highly prone to errors. What frustrates me further is that the company seems to charge extra for everything while refusing to acknowledge or admit its own mistakes. Until only a few weeks ago, it was not even possible for German stationeries to display dates in a German format, as the system continued showing them in English. These are just some of the problems I have encountered and there are many more I could mention.
