“reliable support”
Pros
SevenRooms has been an excellent platform for handling restaurant reservations. The system is simple to use and the customer support team is consistently helpful and willing to assist however they can.
Cons
About a year ago the reporting section was changed and it took me some time to get used to at first. The older reporting setup was simpler to navigate.

“APIs are lacking”
Pros
It helps our restaurant stay organized by managing reservations and keeping notes on members and regular guests which is really useful for day-to-day operations.
Cons
I wish it integrated better with the other platforms we use to run our members' club. I've also run into a few glitches such as the system acting like tables are always overbooked.

“great coordination between reservations and events”
Pros
From reservations to marketing events and email blasts, we rely on this platform for everything and it also integrates well with our event software, Tripleseat.
Cons
The marketing side still isn't as developed as OpenTable especially when it comes to reach but it seems to be moving in the right direction.

“Broad customization options for events”
Pros
The event section gives us a lot of room for customization and setting up shifts for special events is especially useful.
Cons
Creating new shifts can be a bit tricky at times. They sometimes conflict for unclear reasons and if you try setting them up again, they may end up overlapping.

“powerful analytics”
Pros
One thing I really appreciate about SevenRooms is how simple it is to pull the exact data I need, like the date and time tied to customer feedback, the percentages of positive, negative and neutral reviews and even which platform each review came from.
Cons
I don't really have any complaints.

“effective marketing features”
Pros
Having all the business data at my fingertips is a huge advantage. It connects with TOAST POS for check linking and live spend tracking which is another thing I really like about Sevenrooms. Even setting up marketing campaigns takes little effort and the manager app is simple to use especially when overseeing multiple locations.
Cons
The only real downside is the cost and in some cities like NYC, Chicago and LA, other platforms tend to be more widely used.

“security concerns go unresolved”
Pros
In my experience the platform is simple to use, integrates without much trouble and the online materials are helpful.
Cons
A serious downside is the weak security governance. There have been examples of breaches and hacking attempts and the customer service team did not address those concerns properly.

“excellent interface for staff training”
Pros
Excellent interface that has improved a lot over time. Training my floor staff with it is very simple whether they're using the web UI or the app.
Cons
The API is still a little underdeveloped. We've had to handle some manual work to get it working properly with HubSpot.

“Packed with customer perks”
Pros
There are plenty of extra options for setting up customer offers, perks and events which gives a lot of flexibility.
Cons
Guests can submit a custom question which I find useful but there's no simple way to track those unless you open each booking one by one. That process could be made easier.

“inconsistent support”
Pros
Sevenrooms was a solid move for us compared to Opentable. The OT fees was extremely inconvenient for us whereas Sevenrooms' flat-rate model is way easier to manage.
Cons
The lower cost came with a noticeable drop in support. It started strong but over time felt less reliable and more neglected. Gave me the impression they might be heading toward a buyout or shutdown.

“Increased our bookings and online presence”
Pros
This platform did a really good job of bringing in more reservations for our restaurant and helping us get the word out to a wider audience.
Cons
Though we appreciate the extra visibility, the software did create a lot of confusion for us when used alongside our Opentable program. I think it could be made more compatible with Opentable either through direct integration or by allowing us to customize the booking window and table inventory per channel.

“Smart guest profiles for personalized service”
Pros
The customer data capture is excellent. It always keeps track of what I want and being able to view each guest's history is really valuable.
Cons
This is tiny but I'll mention it anyway. The colors in the software feel a bit dull. That made it harder to quickly scan the dashboard at a glance especially during a rush hour when every second counts.

“improves reservation flow”
Pros
They have a really smart way of handling table reassignment and pacing which helps the whole reservation process run much more efficiently.
Cons
The feature set is definitely valuable but the price feels high for a reservation system. I also don't like that it always needs to be updated and that sometimes updates come without any notice.

“Effective for guest outreach plus promotions”
Pros
SevenRooms has a clear focus on staying ahead of industry trends and it shows in the consistent improvement. The team also helps with restaurant marketing which is a nice extra.
Cons
It doesn't integrate with BreadCrumb so I still have to use and pay for Opentable in addition to the monthly subscription cost.

“great for increasing engagement”
Pros
Compared with other reservation tools Sevenrooms offers a powerful, cost-effective alternative to industry standard platforms. It provides strong functionality for bringing in guests, cutting costs by removing Opentable fees, directing diners to other restaurants within the same group and delivering live data on guest spending with trend tracking over time. While it is not yet the most widely adopted platform its capabilities are competitive and continue to improve.
Cons
The main catch is that it just isn't as well-known as OT yet so some of our potential guests might get confused or hesitant when they see it. Even after they've created a profile they still have to re-enter their info for different reservations which gets repetitive and frustrating. If the whole process feels off or takes too long people just give up and book somewhere else. Until more restaurants and diners get used to it, I think we might need to hold customers' hands a bit or keep another booking option handy.

“clutter-free UI”
Pros
SevenRooms has a very user-friendly, clean interface that is simple to navigate. Setting up and training new employees is quick and the access process is effortless too. I especially like the customizable features. Overall the feedback reviews, Instagram and events widget, client exports by tags and tagging tools have been especially useful to the business.
Cons
Every now and then, there are some loading glitches. Also, our POS system's functionality doesn't integrate with SevenRooms. That isn't really SevenRooms' fault but it would definitely make things easier for us when trying to track spend at our higher-volume properties.

“Multiple dashboard views”
Pros
The reporting tools are really useful. Their best features in my opinion are the multiple diary view options and customer data capture. I also appreciate their support team. They've been outstanding whenever help was needed.
Cons
The mixed fonts on the desktop look a bit inconsistent. It can also be slow when moving between pages and the reporting filters don't always work as well as they should.
