No downtime and awesome reports

Pros

There are so many ways to create accurate reports and we love how customizable everything is.

Cons

The cost is a bit high but they have kept the pricing steady since we started using TAI over two years ago so that's been a plus.

Hard to find an integration that matches TAI

Pros

The integration with other platforms like TS, MCP, Macropoint and Trucker Tools is great. I also love being able to duplicate shipments after we've set up a template for a shipping lane, plus the easy search tools for lane history.

Cons

I wish the updates were explained more clearly, maybe through an email with patch notes. We often end up figuring out new tweaks on the fly as we work.

Good tool for shipment tracking

Pros

The team is quick to respond and the new update has a nice GUI. The shipment tracking filters are simple and easy to use.

Cons

The activity log could be improved for clarity. Also there were some bugs where the package type wasn't showing up correctly on the BOLs but that seems to have been fixed recently.

Streamlined our operations in the best way

Pros

The integrations with Trucker Tools and EDI are smooth and overall the platform is really knowledgeable.

Cons

Some fields aren't reportable like the ACH field or certain fields in the carrier, shipment ID or customer profiles. It would be nice to have those in reports.

Tai is ideal for package tracking

Pros

As a freight broker, I love how useful Tai TMS has been. I can keep track of the loads I have available and those that are moving or being picked up.

Cons

I haven't run into any major issues using Tai. Sometimes it can be a little laggy but for the most part, it runs smoothly and I'm satisfied with it.

Beware!

Pros

The main feature we needed was the ability to create and send rate confirmations to our truckers. The process involved too many steps and clicks, which slowed us down. Our in-house method turned out to be more efficient than their TMS for this.

Cons

We've had a rough time with TAI TMS. Out of 102 Google reviews, 81 were posted just 7 months ago, which raised some concerns about the legitimacy of the reviews. Be careful as it seems like they'll keep charging you even if the system doesn't work for your company. We invested about $6K, spent months trying to make it work but we couldn't even get a rate confirmation done quickly. When we asked management if we could move on, we got no response. They've now charged us over $2K this month and plan to charge us another $2K in June so we are looking at over $10K spent with no real benefit. The training was not great either and we felt like they were more interested in keeping the contract going than actually helping our freight brokerage succeed. Be cautious if you're considering this software.

All in one solution

Pros

It's a really useful TMS for dispatching shipments through integrations with carriers. It's perfect for brokers because it keeps everything in one place.

Cons

It would be helpful if there were more tools for FTL and a feature to complain about bad carriers.

Overall a good software

Pros

Great for handling FTL quotes and most freight logistics tasks.

Cons

I mainly use the app for LTL rate quotes and for the price, I think it should be cheaper. There are other apps out there that offer similar services at a lower price.

go-to software for us

Pros

I've been using the software for years and have watched it grow into the top tier software it is today. It's easy and userfriendly for both our internal team and our customers. They're always upgrading the system and making improvements.

Cons

Honestly speaking I haven't found anything I dislike.

Smart TMS with a marketplace that's hard to beat

Pros

They use advanced tools like natural language processing for email quoting and machine learning to automate regular logistical tasks.

Cons

The carrier APIs aren't great especially for smaller carriers who can't integrate and it also reduces API dispatch requests for bigger carriers like UPS. They are working on improvements but it needs a few more tweaks to be a top tier tool.

This software has great potential

Pros

I really like the LTL modules and the potential I see on the truckload side. Custom reporting and Front Office features are a plus, though there are a few things that still need to be updated.

Cons

The Front Office features still need some work especially around mode filtering and the carrier view. The Truckload modules are moving further away from an "LTL" feel, which is where we're still facing the biggest gap. While the Truckload quoting screen and automation are really advanced, some of the basic Truckload functions are still missing. We have provided a lot of feedback on this but it hasn't been addressed yet. The reporting also feels a bit behind while it seems like a lot of work went into it a couple of years ago, some reports like the "Shipped Reports," "Custom Reporting" and "profitability report" still have limitations and don't always match the details from other reports. Some of the Truckload statuses are helping but we're still not confident in the numbers and our president has started second-guessing them. On top of that, communication has been lacking since the buyout and turnover, our meeting with Mitch had to be rescheduled twice and we haven't been able to reconnect in months.

I always love to use it

Pros

We've been using it for nearly 6 years and over that time, we've seen them make lots of improvements based on customer feedback. For us, it's all about speed, how fast we can get in and out of a load, update its status and send rate confirmations or BOLs. The fewer clicks, the better, since it helps our team handle more loads. It's also really easy for our customers to use, and giving them visibility to all their loads and tracking them by PRO# has helped us stand out from the competition.

Cons

TAI is much expensive as compared to other TMS providers we use and we only rely on it for about 50% of our business at the moment. As we continue to grow and potentially bring over the rest of our operations, the monthly cost could get quite high, so a tiered pricing system would be beneficial. This would allow for more flexibility as we expand without significantly increasing our costs. There are a few features I think could improve the system, particularly those that we have grown accustomed to in other TMS platforms. For instance, it would be incredibly helpful to have the ability to automate the carrier onboarding process. The idea would be to send an automated onboarding packet to all the carriers we are booking daily that we need to get set up. If we could store these packets within the system and send them to the carriers, they could electronically sign the required documents and upload their W9, MC Certificate and insurance. This would then automatically integrate the documents into the TMS and notify us by email once the process is completed, which would save a lot of time and reduce human error. Also I would like to see the system enable us to send rate confirmations that carriers can electronically sign. While I believe this feature is already available, what is currently lacking is a way to track which carriers have signed the rate confirmations. Since we send out hundreds of rate confirmations each week, it's important for us to have a clear, organized way to monitor which carriers have completed this process. Lastly one feature I would love to see is the ability to open multiple loads in separate tabs within the web browser. Brokers, account managers, and operations teams are constantly taking calls to book loads and often one carrier will call in for a load while another is being processed simultaneously. If we could easily switch back and forth between multiple loads, it would streamline the process significantly, allowing us to be more efficient and handle multiple tasks at once. This feature is something we have seen on other platforms and believe it would greatly enhance our ability to manage loads more effectively. I'm still learning all the features the software has to offer.

Easy and effective

Pros

Our team loves the software for its ease of use and the operational efficiencies it brings. The Truckload Quote screen helped us move away from using notebooks and Excel sheets, keeping everything digital in the system. The tracking link feature has been a huge help for our customers' visibility, and training new users only takes a couple of hours, compared to other systems that can take days.

Cons

The system could use a more detailed search function in the Truckload Search screen.

User friendly software

Pros

The ease of use and user-friendliness really set TAI apart from the competition.

Cons

It would be better if the passed pickup dates were shown in the "Dispatched" section of the home screen rather than under a separate "Pickup Date Passed" section.
