What Is Tai TMS?

Tai TMS is a cloud-based Transportation Management System (TMS) platform built for freight brokers handling full truckload (FTL) and less-than-truckload (LTL). It centralizes quoting, load booking, tracking, carrier information, billing, and accounting processes.

Moreover, it provides automation and integration solutions that address operational inefficiencies and improve shipment visibility. By streamlining tasks like dispatching and invoicing, Tai TMS helps reduce manual errors and increases overall productivity.

What Is Tai Best For?

Tai stands out for its automatic tracking capability, which keeps shipment records updated through tracking integrations, AI Track & Trace agents, and SMS updates. This helps freight brokers reduce manual check calls while keeping dispatchers aligned and customers informed throughout the shipment lifecycle. Live status information flows directly into each shipment record, making Tai particularly suitable for brokerages that need consistent visibility across FTL and LTL operations.

How Much Does Tai TMS Cost?

Tai TMS pricing starts at $995/month. This plan, known as Growth, includes two staff logins, 10 client logins and 500 carrier profiles. Further pricing tiers are as follows:

  • Premium: $2,465/month
  • Premium+: $4,595/month
  • Pro: $7,925/month
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing

In addition to the base subscription, organizations may need to account for the following applicable expenses:

  • Shipment Overages: $2.50–$4 per additional shipment beyond plan limit
  • Additional Staff Logins: $200–$350/user/month
  • Additional Customer EDI Connections: $500–$1,500 per connection (one-time setup)

Most users consider Tai a cost-friendly option and a key reason to pick it, especially smaller brokerage seeking the tools needed for growth. While those who find it a bit expensive compared to other options, they also laud its consistent pricing structure.

Tai Use Cases

Based on our analysis of user feedback and Tai features, we have identified the following key scenarios where it is a good fit:

1. 3PL Teams Managing Daily LTL And FTL Shipments

For 3PL teams handling both LTL and full truckload activity, Tai TMS keeps quoting, dispatch coordination, tracking, and related shipment work within one system. In this regard, teams can manage different freight modes without maintaining entirely separate workflows. Reviewers also point out its usefulness in 3PL and LTL operations and its support for both LTL and FTL loads.

2. Operations Teams Reducing Repetitive Manual Work

Tai TMS facilitates key tasks for operations teams through automation throughout the shipment lifecycle. From AI-based email capture and automated carrier bill audits to invoices, this automation reduces the repetitive data entry and manual checks that slow down operations teams. User feedback notes the automation reduces repetitive work, and its customization lets them set up their operations as per their preferences.

3. Dispatch Teams Improving Shipment Visibility

The software is used by dispatch teams to monitor active shipments by keeping tracking updates connected to each shipment record and providing customer-facing tracking links. It allows dispatchers and customers to follow freight progress without relying entirely on repeated calls or separate updates. Users also highlight the improved customer visibility through these tracking links, which supports their teams for coordinating multiple shipments.

4. Brokerages Adapting Workflows To Their Processes

Brokerages may follow different processes depending on their customers, freight modes, and internal responsibilities. In this regard, the platform allows teams to configure workflows around how their operation already functions rather than forcing every user into the same process. Reviewers noted that its workflow customization helps them match the way their team actually works. This makes it relevant for brokerages seeking more consistent processes across operations.

Good tool for shipment tracking

Pros

The team is quick to respond and the new update has a nice GUI. The shipment tracking filters are simple and easy to use.

Cons

The activity log could be improved for clarity. Also there were some bugs where the package type wasn't showing up correctly on the BOLs but that seems to have been fixed recently.

Hard to find an integration that matches TAI

Pros

The integration with other platforms like TS, MCP, Macropoint and Trucker Tools is great. I also love being able to duplicate shipments after we've set up a template for a shipping lane, plus the easy search tools for lane history.

Cons

I wish the updates were explained more clearly, maybe through an email with patch notes. We often end up figuring out new tweaks on the fly as we work.
