“Botkeeper has turned our bookkeepers into account managers
Pros
Botkeeper software biggest advantage for me has been getting rid of those repetitive, boring tasks that bookkeepers usually handle. Now they can become real account managers and can focus on more on high-level responsibilities like quality control and spending more time working with clients in areas beyond just bookkeeping.
Cons
There are a few minor aspects of the system that could be improved a bit more but they do not impact the overall work. Since the company is still growing, I trust that these concerns will be addressed in the product roadmap.

Pros
I really like how they take care of things and keep communication open about what the clients need.
Cons
Botkeeper software is not the easiest to use and the UI could definitely be improved in several areas. They are updating it frequently which is a positive sign.

Pros
Using Botkeeper for tracking income, expenses and bank reconciliations has been really helpful for me. I found it easy to get my clients set up and start using the Botkeeper service without much effort.
Cons
I do not find the client management reports very much useful maybe because our company uses a specific format for financial reporting.

Pros
Botkeeper has allowed us to serve more clients than we could handle on our own. The consistency and timeliness mean we do not have to rely on ourselves or our staff to update the books every month or whenever needed. When we need to check the books, most of the work is already done which allows us to focus on tasks that bring more value.
Cons
There is still some manual uploading that has to be done each month and its easy to fall behind. While we try not to burden our clients, its our responsibility to keep Botkeeper updated with the latest credentials and bank statements.

Pros
What I really like about Botkeeper is how it handles the more tedious parts of my job, giving me more time to focus on things that require my personal attention for my clients. I did estimate it saves me about a quarter of my client hours each month which eventually allows me to spend more time discussing their business health or answering any questions they have.
Cons
Sometimes the connection with the bank drops. Its usually not Botkeepers fault but it is still frustrating and time-consuming to reconnect the accounts.

Pros
The integration and ease of moving clients QBO accounts onto the Botkeeper platform was simple. Moreover having a dedicated weekly meeting with a Botkeeper specialist has been a great addition. Bank reconciliations are completed quickly with minimal errors and the reports presented to the clients are always professional and on time.
Cons
The only downside of the Botkeeper software is that it usually relies on the GL that was used before which is not always accurate. Also, transactions without a record might end up in Misc Expenses or unassigned accounts. It would be helpful if the system flagged these transactions instantly so they could be categorized before appearing on the P&L.

I love everything about Botkeeper but a few things that stand out to me the most are their customer service is fantastic. We have weekly meetings with our account manager, who helps with any questions or onboarding issues. It saves us time on daily updates and monthly reconciliations. For our 30 clients we estimate it saves around 25% of the time. Recently, we were hit hard by the Great Resignation due to which we loses 40% of our staff (3 out of 7 people in our small company) and honestly at that time Botkeeper saved us. Without Botkeeper we would have been in a tough spot.
Cons
I really cannot think of any cons. Whenever we have had issues my account manager has always resolved them quickly!

Pros
Taking transaction entry off the plate of our current CAS Team has been a big help as it lets them focus more on reviewing financial statements.
Cons
No cons to mention its just we are still using the original platform and are eagerly waiting for an upgrade.

Pros
Botkeeper has been great to free up bandwidth through automated processes and I also like how quickly they respond to emails.
Cons
There is an obvious learning curve involved with new processes since the Botkeeper system operates outside of the companys regular workflow. So it might cause trouble to some. This is not a dislike by the way.

Pros
I had a client whose accounting books were an absolute mess but the Botkeeper were able to clean everything up.
Cons
In the beginning it was hard to figure out who was managing my account and what the next steps were. But once that was sorted out things worked really well.

Pros
I recently started my CPA company and I was looking for strategic partner like Botkeeper to help me grow. What I really like about Botkeeper is that I can white label the platform and still have a dedicated team of accountants assigned to my clients.
Cons
I feel like the portal still needs improvement even after the recent upgrade. One of the biggest challenges was editing the dashboards to fit our needs and that was one of the updates they addressed in the latest rollout.

Pros
Customer service is fast and very attentive. They take the time to figure out answers to all my questions. Any changes I need are made quickly with great communication throughout the process.
Cons
I do not use their backend features at all as I do not find them the best so for that I only use QuickBooks Online.

This software is simple, easy and effective. None of us here are accountants so having a solution that helps keep our books up to date is a huge relief.
Cons
Occasionally the bot system makes small errors but nothing major. We have always been able to resolve them.

Pros
Botkeeper user interface is nice but overall, it feels like a more consolidated version of QuickBooks.
Cons
The communication is not great. I get that AI is part of the process but there still needs to be more of a human element. Also, they send information to people who are not even administrators on our account which I am really not happy about.

Pros
As someone new to a program already using Botkeeper I was curious about how it worked. I really like that I can just email Xenbot to check the status of my entire budget or specific parts of it. So far, I have been able to send a quick note to Xenbot and get a ledger in my inbox within 24 hours. The support staff has been great too. When I first started I had a call with their support team to go over specific questions and use cases and the person I spoke with was very helpful and responsive to my feedback about the ledger from a user's perspective.
Cons
Its a bit limiting as a user and not the account owner. For example, I like to get very detailed with my budget but the master budget is broader in how it categorizes things. Since I cannot make my budget more detailed within the system I end up taking what Xenbot gives me and breaking it down further in my own spreadsheet. This might not apply to everyone but as someone new to managing a department budget, I need to track every detail to improve our budgeting process in the future. It would also be helpful if the email ledger allowed me to drill down into specific transactions. I can tell whats a vendor payment or a monthly charge because those match perfectly but when there are multiple payments for something like an event, I only see the total amount not the individual charges that make up that total.

What I like the most about Botkeeper is that there is a whole team managing our accounts, rather than just one person.
Cons
There is a lot of back and forth involved in handling daily bills and ongoing projects.
