“Simple tool for startups
Pros
Setting up the software along with the email archive and HBCI interface was done smoothly. Once I had my vendor and customer info filled out properly, it could recognize new receipts and give me a booking suggestion that worked most of the time. I only need to make small changes here and there. For vendor payments, I do them right through Collmex using HBCI which works great. The support team replies within a day on weekdays if I get stuck, though it's only through email. What I found super useful was the travel cost tool. My coworkers can log in, add their trip details with just a few clicks and it all goes into the financials directly. It couldn't be more convenient.
Cons
The layout is clean and practical. There are tons of booking templates under the Posting section but you don't really notice how useful they are until you get into it. Usability feels pretty good once you learn your way around, though there's still room to make it better.

“Feature-rich but minor flaws
Pros
Price was one thing that got my attention early on but what really sold me were the features. The suggested entries and templates helped me a lot. Even handling tricky transactions wasn't hard. I liked that I could manage multiple companies under one account with the larger version. It's fast toono flashy designs, just a clean layout that keeps things moving. Their fixed asset management section was my favorite part. Every type of asset and depreciation method I needed was included.
Cons
The design could definitely use a bit of a modern touch. That could even be handled with a little CSS honestly. One thing I really didn't like was how receipts are saved through your email inbox. That method might work for some but I found it clunky. You've also got to keep your inbox linked all the time since Collmex stores the paths internally. Another downside is not being able to import PayPal directly. First, you have to download from PayPal, then convert it to MT940 format. That process just feels outdated now.
