simple setup process and amazing support

Pros

Odoo is pretty easy to set up, use and to manage warehouse orders and inventory items across multiple warehouse locations. Their customer support has been amazing too and is always available to help whenever I need assistance. Compared with other platforms, I think the pricing and overall value are very cost-effective which makes it one of my go-to platforms.

Cons

I found adding inventory items to track in each warehouse a bit more complicated than I expected. If that setup process were simpler, it would easily become one of the fastest systems for me to get up and running.

Comprehensive platform

Pros

Overall it is a comprehensive, all-in-one platform that grows well our business needs. Its modular design made it easy to pick and implement only the parts we required from CRM and inventory management to accounting and eCommerce. And because of the development flexibility it provides, our team was even able to create custom apps such as the WooCommerce Connector we published on the Prefortune store which works the best for real-time syncing.

Cons

The initial setup felt pretty daunting when I first started particularly once I ran into customizations or third-party integrations. Though I have noticed the docs have gotten better but I still wish there were more concrete examples and real-world implementation case studies to guide us.

Great website building

Pros

Odoo is a great website-building platform that's extremely easy to use and consistently features a very amazing, interface is user-friendly.

Cons

There's nothing missing from it and I generally find the software quite amazing for web creation and design. And I haven't run into any problems using the platform.

modular, scalable, cost-effective

Pros

As a small business owner, I love that it's modular and scalable as I could start small and grow with it. The interface looks modern and is easy to use which helped since I am not very technical. Almost every screen, workflow and rule can be customized to fit our needs. Sales, purchases, inventory, CRM, POS and accounting are all in one platform. It is also cost-effective compared to SAP, Oracle or Dynamics and there is great community support with open-source flexibility.

Cons

I have found POS customization isn't beginner-friendly as its heavy JavaScript-based architecture makes tweaks tough unless you can code. It also doesn't come with ready-made vertical modules for certain industries, like automobile service centers or real estate so you may need to build those. Native direct printing from POS is absent and usually means relying on third-party tools or an IoT box. Some of the more advanced capabilities are locked behind the Enterprise edition which can be too pricey for microbusinesses.

Smooth interface

Pros

I am really fond of Odoo. its interface feels very smooth and simple. It packs helpful features and is easy to use which makes daily tasks quicker. For example I was able to connect my manufacturing module with the accounting module without much trouble and that smooth integration is a huge plus for me.

Cons

Getting started wasn't the easiest for me but after a bit of practice I found that things become much smoother. Once I got the hang of it, I could move through Zaps easily and the help section was genuinely useful. It offers suggestions to resolve problems and even proposes workarounds which I think is a really handy feature.

Unifies essential business areas

Pros

Odoo is great to unify essential business areas like sales, inventory, purchasing, accounting, CRM and manufacturing into a single platform. That cuts reliance on separate systems and simplifies our operations.

Cons

One of my main frustrations is that it organizes messages by object like a sales order, invoice or a particular contact. Because of that, I struggle to pull together a full history of interactions with a customer in a single spot. When several team members work with the same customer, this blind spot hampers teamwork and can lead to unexpected interruptions in service.

Accounting feels like quickbooks

Pros

The accounting and general ledger tools are the best and I can reconcile my books without much trouble. for me it feels a lot like using QuickBooks Online.

Cons

I am disappointed by the payment processing and integration side getting a payment processor connected to accept payments and handle payouts has been clunky for me.

Comprehensive centralized solution

Pros

For my company it's a comprehensive solution when you want to centralize everything in a single platform CRM, ERP, communications email, SMS, surveys and even after-sales customer support.

Cons

I cannot automatically sync the Email Marketing with the CRM database which is a shame because it's one of the few drawbacks of the software.

Sales rep was dismissive

Pros

The product lists an extensive set of powerful features and it's backed by a company with longevity. They position themselves as a single source solution that can bring together and manage every part of your business operations.

Cons

My trial was overshadowed by what I can only describe as shocking arrogance on their part. After I signed up I got a call from an account representative checking in and when I started pointing out problems with my initial experience mainly that the documentation was completely out of date and Support actually had to send me a completely different workflow just so I could perform the basic task of connecting bank accounts as his reaction was dismissive. He casually admitted that their docs are often out of date and brushed it off like it was no big deal, then abruptly hung up on me while I was still talking. Even if the line had dropped I would have expected a callback but that follow-up never happened.

Complex interface, didn't work well

Pros

I gave this product a proper try during the free trial period but it didn't meet any of my requirements so I am sad to say that there genuinely wasn't a single thing about it that I liked.

Cons

To me the interface came across as overly complex and not very user friendly. I even spoke with support about my needs and followed their guidance but it still didn't work well for my situation.

everything ties to financials

Pros

Because Odoo is modular, I can manage accounting, inventory and manufacturing together on a single platform. I especially value that everything ties back to our financials and is linked straight to the supply chain so I get precise cost tracking.

Cons

I found that certain modules feel less developed than others. We ended up doing extensive custom work and going through a lengthy onboarding process to make it fit our workflows exactly.

Open-source, pick needed modules

Pros

I have been using this open-source ERP and I like that it brings a wide variety of applications together under one roof such as HR, CRM, sales and more. The freedom to choose exactly which apps to enable means my organization can pick modules that fit our needs instead of being boxed in. They even let you start with one free app from the selection which helped my team experiment without commitment. For small and medium businesses and startups like ours, it's a practical alternative to building an in-house IT ERP environment with heavy capex. I also find the platform highly customizable and the clean, user friendly UI makes navigation easy.

Cons

In my experience costs can climb quickly if you add several applications or increase the number of users so budgeting becomes important. I have noticed the depth of features isn't consistent across all modules. As some feel very mature while others are lighter. Also, you need technical know-how for deeper customizations and to handle upgrades properly which means we had to bring in expertise for more advanced work.

easy to build and customize

Pros

What I like most about it is that I find it really easy to build and customize the system to match our specific business requirements.

Cons

From my experience Odoo includes all the features we need but every so often I feel you have to apply some basic common sense to tailor it to particular requirements. Other than that, everything works well.

Bundles tools, single affordable erp

Pros

It bundles multiple tools into a single affordable ERP so I can stay within the same interface for CRM, invoicing and my website.

Cons

For me it takes time to get trained but I still find it's worth the detour to better appreciate it afterward.

easy customization, users learn fast

Pros

I appreciate how easy it is to customize processes and the user experience. As users are granted a lot of autonomy and I personally found it pretty easy to learn.

Cons

That said I have found that for some core modules, like employee self-service, the licensing fees can get prohibitively expensive.

No accountability whatsoever

Pros

Sorry but it's honestly hard to put into words particularly since I have been using it since 2021. Still I really dislike being negative.

Cons

I feel there's nobody truly accountable in the company as responsibilities keep getting shuffled around nonstop. Even trained accountants struggle with the accounting side. I find a customer's invoice impossible to interpret when a deposit has been received and inventory valuation is equally baffling to me.

modular design tailors to our needs

Pros

As a user I find its modular design lets companies tailor the software to their needs. It's simple to manage processes and automate tasks.

Cons

From my perspective it becomes quite complex when handling large projects. I noticed that several advanced features are behind paid modules and we set it up ourselves.

Too many bugs that support can't fix

Pros

There is nothing redeeming here. It feels like a complete waste of my time and energy. There are countless bugs and problems and nobody takes ownership. I'll end up raising tickets for trivial things and end up abandoning my main work to set up and troubleshoot Odoo issues.

Cons

In my experience there are far too many bugs as even a basic bank connection refuses to work. Simple invoicing also glitches frequently. I find their customer care staff often don't know how to fix problems. Every little issue takes about three days to get resolved and then the identical fault pops up again three days later.

Lied, no support and useless product

Pros

Honestly Odoo turned out to be far more complicated than I expected. I feel like I was led into purchasing it and when I realized it wasn't the fit my business needed I asked for a refund because I was told I had to commit to a whole year instead of being able to pay month-to-month. They declined. I have poured hours into learning the system and after several months I still haven't been able to get my website live. This has been incredibly frustrating and a big waste of my time.

Cons

I feel they lied to me and they haven't offered any meaningful support. For what I need, the product is useless and because they refuse to issue a refund I cannot move to another solution that would actually work for my business.
