“Quick reports with easy additions”

Pros

What I like most is that I can quickly generate reports in Workday and it's easy to add new job records and employee details.

Cons

It frustrates me that it's somewhat tricky to pull up an employee's full job history. I wish there were a much simpler, more transparent way to view every role and level someone has occupied and the dates for each position throughout their entire tenure with the company.

The workflows are genuinely solid especially when it comes to recruitment and performance management.

Cons

UX feels a bit odd and the whole setup is fairly stiff. It doesn't give you much flexibility or room for customization unless you're willing to pay a lot for one of their service partners. Also, the pricey training courses are pretty disappointing for adult learners, four days in a classroom flipping through a thick 500 page bound workbook which doesn't exactly feel modern or engaging.

Pros

It is really easy to use and flexible, which makes it simple to set up. It has also made communication within the team much smoother and more efficient.

Cons

Some of the flows are complex to activate.

“Fast navigation with partial name search”

Pros

In my experience Workday is very easy to navigate. I can switch between employee profiles easily or open different tabs to view multiple people at once. Also I do not need to type full names as just a few letters usually brings up what I'm looking for which saves a lot of time.

Cons

I have found that security restrictions can limit usability and make it harder for me to see what I need. If I am moving to Workday, I consider how I set up access so staff can get the information they need easily.

“Full suite reduces system fatigue”

Pros

What I really appreciate about Workday is how user friendly it feels for both administrators and regular users. As someone who manages the system, I value being able to handle things myself whether it's building a new report or tweaking an existing one, I can get it done without having to wait on someone else. When we need to design or adjust a business process or workflow, I am able to set that up too. Another big plus for me is that Workday offers a full suite of integrated products that play nicely together. That single sign-on experience helps reduce system fatigue for employees since they can view their payslip, update their home address, post a job for recruitment, submit an expense claim or complete mandatory training all from one central place. On top of that, I often turn to Workday Community for practical advice and I search there for best practices and see how other users have resolved similar issues which is incredibly helpful.

Cons

There is not much I dislike about it but I will admit it comes with a learning curve and takes a bit of time to get comfortable with its terminology and conventions. Occasionally I wish the system felt a bit more user friendly in certain areas and there are moments when navigating unfamiliar features can be slower than I'd like.

“Easy automation needs stable sessions”

Pros

I have found the tool incredibly easy to get around and it automates even the little day to day tasks such as things like submitting leave requests, routing approvals, tracking holidays, storing employee details and more everything kept in one place so it's simple to monitor those specifics. I also really appreciate the org chart in Workday because it makes the company's structure clear which is especially helpful when you're a new hire.

Cons

Every so often I have had to sign in repeatedly because my session wouldn't stay active which is a small irritation in the grand scheme of things but still an annoyance when I am trying to get work done quickly.

“Clean interface, allows bulk time entry”

Pros

What I like is the clean, user friendly interface as it makes it fast and simple to pull up my timesheet and log hours. I also really value being able to enter time in bulk instead of doing it day by day and it's convenient to check remaining PTO and quickly confirm which benefits I am signed up for.

Cons

I don't tend to use the Directory or the Reports sections so those parts aren't useful to me personally. Beyond that, I cannot think of anything I actively dislike about the system.

“Loading problems during peak hours”

Pros

Accessing all my benefits and the details about my role at Bright Horizons has generally been easy and I can reach them from different devices without much trouble. Plus the layout of the interface makes it simple to follow instructions when a manager asks me to look something up, even if they're explaining it to me over the phone which I like.

Cons

I have run into intermittent loading problems while using it during my regular work hours which can be frustrating. Lately and especially during the pandemic, logging in sometimes fails or becomes very slow. I suspect this is partly because many users are trying to access the system at the same time which leads to freezing or lag. Fixing that would make it a lot smoother to get my tasks done.

Pros

Workday has proved extremely useful. I really appreciate how it gives us control over hours and daily tasks which makes many parts of our work much simpler. It keeps employee information organized and up-to-date and it helps with payroll management and tracking employee time off without creating extra hassle. I also like that Workday allows you to create customized reports and I think that functionality is exactly what any HR area needs to operate effectively and carry out its duties.

Cons

I find the interface a bit unattractive and not particularly easy on the eyes. it would be nice if they made it more visually appealing for users. At times I get confused when signing into my account although I know that's partly down to getting used to it. On the plus side, the security seems good and I really appreciate that aspect a lot.

From my experience I find there are many different employee options and functions that I can easily access within a single general program.

Cons

Honestly I find the navigation between different tabs and access points confusing and not user friendly so I usually have to already know exactly what I want and the steps to reach it.

Pros

In my experience Workday is very user-friendly and supports a broad array of employee management tasks. Whether I am handling performance reviews, managing personal information, tracking organizational structures, dealing with remuneration records or arranging leaves and vacations, it covers all those areas and more.

Cons

I would really like the user interface to be refreshed and made more visually appealing and user friendly for users.

Pros

For me administering the whole employee lifecycle in a single tool that's built for global employees is a major advantage.

I often hit limitations when designing certain processes and I end up depending heavily on HR technology specialists.

“Neat separation with editable profiles”

Pros

Different work-life functions are neatly separated and arranged which makes it simpler to both find and use them. The part I appreciate most is the user profile area because it contains all required information across different tabs. It also allows immediate edits when permitted so I can change things on the spot and feel more secure.

Cons

Some parts of it feel pretty basic. For example, when I apply for jobs through it, I have to re-enter the same info like gender, location and work authorization every single time. Also it would be much more efficient if those details could be saved in a user profile once and reused. That would save a lot of time for anyone who uses it often. I have noticed similar repetitive issues in other parts of the employee dashboard too.

I really like how user friendly Workday is. On the homepage there's a clear, self-explanatory menu so I can quickly locate the various functions that it offers.

Cons

It would be great if I could simply click and drag blocks of time instead of having to type in each start and end time separately. That change would save me a few minutes whenever I am scheduling and I am picturing a click-and-drag setup similar to the one used in when2meet polls.

“Easy navigation even for non-tech savvy”

I am really impressed by how user-friendly Workday is! The navigation is simple and easy to learn even if you are not very tech-savvy. Also I can enter hours, request time off, find and connect with colleagues and build my professional profile that too all in one place. So I highly recommend it.

Cons

To be honest I don't have anything to add here. I have never had a negative experience with Workday, whether I am working remotely or on site. It's truly an excellent product!

“Org charts with simple expenses”

Pros

Overall I am a big fan of the organizational charts as they make it easy to see reporting lines and structure. Submitting expenses is simple too so I rarely get stuck. Managing PTO is smooth and works well for my planning. Plus I find its integration with Anaplan to be reliable and seamless.

Cons

I'd like more transparency around how the HR team handles data. Also I wish I could view more about their processes and the controls they use to manage it.

What I love most about Workday is how easy it is to view pay stubs. Customizing the system is also simple and smooth.

Cons

For me, exporting data can sometimes involve many steps and be quite time-consuming.

For me it provides one centralized spot to handle every type of task, complete audit trails, remote access, plus a host of other useful capabilities.

I haven't found any features I dislike so far although as I continue exploring additional functionality I might discover something I would want to comment on later.

“Central HCM hub from browser”

Pros

Workday's interface is really user friendly and simple to use. For me it acts as my company's central HCM hub that I can open from the web and reach straight from my browser whenever I need it.

Cons

A few of the features in Workday left me puzzled. For instance, there's a 'time off' section that I initially assumed showed my personal leave but it actually displays my team's time off instead. I discovered my own vacation and leave details live in a separate area instead.
