“clean design”
Pros
Right away, the software feels polished and simple. The simple design makes it very user-friendly and the layout and overall look are exactly what people need to be able to use and understand the product without confusion. I especially appreciate that employees can easily view and update their own benefits, beneficiaries and dependents.
Cons
If I had one suggestion, it would be to make the viewing boxes a little taller. At the moment, they stop right after the last line which makes them look a bit cramped. That said, it's really just an aesthetic issue.

“everything in one hub”
Pros
We recently moved over to Workday and now everything sits in one place. There's no longer any need to jump between different software to get tasks done.
Cons
I've only just started using it so I haven't really come across any drawbacks yet. Up to this point, everything has been perfect.

“5 stars”
Pros
Having payroll and benefits information available directly to employees without needing to contact HR has been a big plus. A lot of the processes are also automated which makes everything more efficient.
Cons
The organization chart took a bit of time to figure out at first and didn't feel very adaptive right away. After learning how it works though, it becomes useful and works just fine.

“outdated design”
Pros
Graphical interface is about the only bright spot here, the visuals are nice. It also does connect candidate data with HR if you're using Workday HR but that advantage really doesn't make up for everything that's wrong with it.
Cons
Right away, the workflow feels far too restrictive. It may sound good on paper but in practice you have to keep going back to your inbox just to move a candidate to the next step. Offers take forever to process and if you make one mistake, you have to send it back to a leader for approval all over again. The whole system is built around effective dating which creates a huge problem, if a recruiter starts after a req has already opened, they can't take action on a candidate who applied before that date. That's terrible for vacation coverage or onboarding new recruiters. Searching is also a mess. You can't properly search by candidate name so if you're trying to find someone like John Smith, you'll get random names with J or S in no useful order. It also fails as a sourcing database which made it useless for our progressive sourcing team. Anyone working in a high-volume recruiting environment will absolutely hate this system because it takes literally four times longer to hire someone in it. There are just too many steps and too many flaws. And Honestly that's not even the full list. My company met with the Workday User Experience Leader, they heard all the feedback and a year later nothing had changed. These are not configuration problems, they're architectural design flaws. I would strongly tell people to stay away from this software. It feels at least 5 to 10 years behind the rest of the market. In a high-volume recruiting shop, it will hurt recruiter morale. Maybe if your recruiting volume is extremely low, you could tolerate it. Also, reporting is almost nonexistent. The canned reports aren't very useful and overall the reporting functionality is extremely limited.

“layout is nice”
Pros
Right away, the dashboard felt adaptive and simple to navigate. Key buttons like Pay, Time Off and Benefits are placed thoughtfully and the overall interface looks clean and polished.
Cons
The benefits page doesn't provide much information although that may be more related to how my company set it up than to Workday itself.

“i rely on it”
Pros
Coming from having no system at all, moving to Workday meant there was a lot to think through and a huge amount of setup work especially when it came to loading all of our historical data which was by far the biggest task. Once everything was in place though, it made life much easier for our HR team. Our processes became more consistent, employees had better visibility into their vacation and benefits details and we were finally able to build the reports we needed to support a growing business.
Cons
Biggest downside was how expensive the implementation became once we factored in all the effort and consulting hours required to get Workday delivered. Entering our historical data also felt somewhat chaotic at times. That said, Workday stayed involved throughout the process and helped make sure the implementation and launch were ultimately successful.

“weak recruiting”
Pros
One thing I can say about Workday is that it has a cute look and the colors make it feel a bit more fun to use. I also really appreciated the support team that came to our office during implementation, they were helpful and left a positive impression.
Cons
The recruiting side still feels too underdeveloped so there just isn't much there yet. If you make a mistake, you end up having to redo your entire job posting which is really frustrating. They should take notes from Salesforce if they want us to respond better to the product.

“solid for daily team management”
Pros
It does a really good job handling everyday team management tasks like compensation, time off and personal information.
Cons
Using it on a daily basis feels quite user-friendly. The only challenge is that the features I don't access often can be a bit complicated to work out.

“built-in integrations are great”
Pros
Built-in integrations, a free IDE for more advanced integrations, a collaborative community and updates twice a year make this software really stand out.
Cons
Honestly I haven't run into any drawbacks in 8 years of using this software. I've worked with it both as a customer and as a consultant and I still can't point to a single con.

“Excellent”
Pros
The functionality is really solid and bugs are communicated clearly and resolved quickly. Production issues are also shared proactively which is something I really appreciate. It includes a lot of capabilities that you rarely come across in other applications and it truly feels built to be SaaS-ready.
Cons
The reporting works well but you do need quite a bit of knowledge to choose the right objects and use it correctly.

“flexible and always up to date”
Pros
Has been incredibly flexible, simple to use and consistently available whenever we need it. It stays current, integrates well with our other systems and Honestly I can't imagine how we'd manage without it. It's been that valuable for us.
Cons
It's hard to come up with many negatives but at times newly released features or products arrive with less functionality than we need. That means we sometimes have to wait until the next update or even a later version, for everything to catch up.

“best-in-class ui”
Pros
This tool feels like a modern, leading-edge platform with a high level of configurability. The interface is best in class and connecting it with most third-party systems is simple to set up. Also, the packaged integrations that come with it are excellent.
Cons
Success with the system really depends on having the right internal support in place. Strong training, clear communication and solid adoption efforts are essential for people to fully accept it. Having knowledgeable SMEs in-house is also a must if an organization wants to get the most out of Workday.
