“powerful bookkeeping features”
Pros
This software is pretty easy to use. It keeps bookkeeping organized with a great range of accounting features. The tools are better than many others especially for payroll, reconciliation, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Cons
The only downside is that report generation feels too limited aside from that it's nice to use.

“All in one payroll and tax win”
Pros
Starting with the free trial gave us a good feel for the platform and honestly Xero lives up to the reputation. Our company is based in the UK and we were able to connect payroll with our banking system for handling payments. It integrated well using our company payee code and also links with other payment platforms which helps us automatically monitor staff-related complaints. Once everything is fully set up, Xero also handles tax-related payments like national insurance and government taxes. On top of that it brings accounting, payroll and compliance together in one system so we can report finances and transactions directly to both HMRC and the company. It really feels like a complete all-in-one platform and has been worth the hype.
Cons
It would be even better if there were a plan or feature designed for companies that handle smaller transaction volumes especially startups.

“Pretty simple accounting setup”
Pros
Xero is easy to use thanks to its clear interface and simple design. The layout is very user friendly especially for someone using it for the first time and I'd definitely recommend it.
Cons
One downside is that we still have to handle credit card payments manually through an outside portal and then enter them into it afterward. I feel like it would be much better if payments could be processed directly inside it to cut down on the extra double handling.

“organized books and powerful tools”
Pros
Being a bookkeeper, staying connected to reliable accounting software really matters and Xero delivers on that. It comes with all the tools and features needed to keep bookkeeping organized, structured and under control.
Cons
At first the dashboard seemed a bit unorganized to me but after spending more time with it, I got familiar with the layout pretty quickly.

“clear reports and clean interface”
Pros
it won me over because it handled the accounting work for me which was a huge relief since dealing with numbers is the part I dislike most. The reporting is simple, clear and very easy to follow.
Cons
Honestly I didn't run into any drawbacks with the software at all. The interface is clean, practical and the reports are well organized and tidy.

“helpful learning hub and support”
Pros
One thing I really appreciate is the learning hub because it keeps me updated and shows me exactly what I need to do to maintain my Xero certification. The customer support is also very helpful since I can get my questions answered quickly whenever something comes up. From an accounting point of view, it's an excellent tool for managing accounts and planning taxes in a simple and practical way.
Cons
I haven't come across any part of this software that I like less. Everything in it has been useful for me.

“user friendly dashboard design”
Pros
Right from the start Xero looks very user friendly. It's simple to navigate and the wording across the dashboard is clear enough that even someone without an accounting background can understand it without much effort.
Cons
Well I don't have any real complaints. If anything, I'd maybe make the font a little rounder and more welcoming.

“reliable accounting with useful features”
Pros
Running my small business has become much more efficient with Xero and I genuinely enjoy using it every day for business tasks. It's a strong accounting program packed with lots of features and the layout is simple enough to use without hassle. I'd definitely recommend this software and I really believe most people would be happy with it once they start using it.
Cons
At times it takes longer than expected to load and I think it would be even better if a few new features were added.

“All in one”
Pros
Everything needed for accounting is kept in one place and connecting Xero to a company bank account is very easy. The inventory management stands out especially the automation of stock levels and the way it handles supplier management.
Cons
It does take a little training to get comfortable with at first and some on-screen guidance tools would be helpful.

“fantastic invoicing and bank feeds”
Pros
I must say getting started with this program was surprisingly quick. Even without any training, I moved through the modules and figured out how everything worked without much trouble. Also I really like that I can email invoices straight into the system which cuts down on paper filing since everything is stored digitally. The bank statement integration is also excellent and makes reconciling purchases and income much easier. I also find the favourites option in the reports section very useful for jumping straight to the reports I use most often. The payroll function is another strong point and is quite simple to use.
Cons
As a software package for a small business, there is very little wrong with it. The only minor frustration is that navigation can sometimes require clicking back through several menus just to return to a previous step but compared with the benefits this is a small issue. The general ledger reports and transactions could also be improved a bit, as small businesses may leave that side to their accountant so it would help if that area felt more user friendly for someone familiar with larger systems rather than being quite so simplified.

“clean layout with useful integrations”
Pros
One of the best parts is the huge range of third-party integrations available. The layout is very user friendly and having a mobile app included makes it even more convenient to use day to day.
Cons
The starter-level plan feels limiting when it comes to invoicing and it's frustrating that there's no customer support phone number for getting help quickly when you're stuck.

“Simple design that's enjoyable”
Pros
Xero's look and feel made the whole experience really good. New users get comfortable very quickly and usually know exactly what to do. Also it is very user friendly, with a fresh, modern layout that's actually enjoyable to use.
Cons
Whenever support is needed, it hasn't been as strong as what we previously got from Sage. I don't have any major complaints but the customer service doesn't feel like it's at quite the same level.
